President Trump issued another Executive Order today but this one of scheduled for two days after Joe Biden’s planned for Inauguration. The EO is proclaiming the sanctity of life.

President Trump today issued another Executive Order – this one to proclaim January 22, 2021, as National Sanctity of Human Life Day. The unique thing about this EO is that it is after Joe Biden is expected to be sworn into the office of the Presidency on January 20th.

FedEx Announces 6K+ Job Cuts In Europe As Corporate Layoffs Continue In 2021

Despite all the business they've been getting from vaccine-makers (remember those photos of the FedEx trucks rolling out of Kalamazoo with the first batches of the Pfizer vaccine?), not to mention the ongoing post-holiday "return-a-palooza", FedEx has just announced that it's laying off another 6K+ workers in Europe in the latest round of "redundancies".

With most of the continent, along with the UK, still on lockdown, FedEx said in a filing on Tuesday that it has started the process of cutting 5.5K to 6.3K European jobs as it completes the integration of TNT.

The cuts will mostly focus on "operational teams and back-office functions," which suggests the company is harnessing even more automation to cut down on costs and bolster profits after FedEx refused to release earnings guidance for 2021. The process is expected to take 18 months, so hopefully the economy will be mostly open again when the pink slips finally arrive.

Layoff are intended to "address the duplication from operating two large delivery networks" and have already been presented to European employee representatives. Bizarrely, the company also claimed in the filing that eliminating these redundancies would help it better prepare for cyber attacks like those that crippled TNT and other companies back in 2017.

FedEx also claimed that combining its systems following the acquisition of TNT has been "difficult".

"This process, whilst difficult, will allow us together with the completion of the network integration to operate as one company,” Karen Reddington, president of FedEx Express Europe, was quoted as saying in the filing. That will enable FedEx to offer “greater coverage, speed of delivery, extended operational capabilities and enhanced service levels.”

To some, it seems galling that FedEx would be continuing with layoffs during a time when demand for the company's services has been amplified by the pandemic.

But it's only the latest in a stream of corporate layoffs that started again late last year, and appears to be continuing, despite soon-to-be confirmed Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen's remarks about "going big" with another round of stimulus.

But of course we're not seeing much, if anything, about these layoffs on CNBC and other financial media outlets, which continue to pump the narrative that "everything is awesome" in the West.

Madrid declared a ‘disaster zone’ after storm Filomena hammers the Spanish capital

The Madrid area has been declared a “disaster zone” by the national government after extreme weather and snowstorms left the city crippled. The move means the affected areas can receive financial aid to alleviate the storm damage.

On Tuesday, Spain’s Council of Ministers approved the disaster declaration for the Community of Madrid and Castilla-La Mancha, freeing up vital aid for the storm-hit areas.

Earlier this month, temperatures in the capital reached as low as minus 15.4 degrees Celsius (4.8 degrees Fahrenheit) as storm Filomena swept across Spain. Preliminary estimates from the mayor’s office suggest that the heavy snowfall and storm have caused at least €1.4 billion ($1.70 billion) in damage.

Supermarket shelves have been left bare in some stores after fallen trees and snow drifts blocked roads and damaged critical transport infrastructure.

The city has undergone a mammoth clean-up operation in recent days and most public transport is once again up and running. The operation has involved 4,000 people, 1.4 million kilograms of salt and more than 270,000 liters of brine, according to the mayor.

Madrid’s regional government has warned that heavy rains are forecast for Wednesday, and will likely bring floods and further chaos.

Kremlin Rejects EU Calls For Navalny Release After He Publishes List Of Russians To Be Sanctioned

Russia is ignoring EU and US calls to free jailed Kremlin critic Alexey Navalny, who after recovering in Berlin for months after an alleged poisoning in August which he's blamed on Russian intelligence upon orders from Putin flew back to Moscow Sunday. He was sentence to serve 30 days in jail for probation violation on Monday by a Moscow court. He's now being held in Moscow's notorious Matrosskaya Tishina prison.

The 44-year old opposition politician appears to be attempting to lead a one man revolution and score-settling of sorts given he's now publicizing "lists" of Russians who should be sanctioned if he's not released.

According to Bloomberg he "identified eight people as potential targets for punitive measures, including billionaire Chelsea soccer club owner Roman Abramovich and tycoon Alisher Usmanov as well as top officials, in a list released by a close associate of the activist." Imprisoning a man for missing parole meetings while he was recovering from being poisoned and who bravely returned to Russia is outrageous and farcical. Pushing this further, keeping Alexey detained or accusing him of more crimes must have consequences.

Alexey and our team have been for years advocating individual sanctions against perpetrators of abuse of human rights, the election system, and law enforcement in Russia, as well as corrupt officials and businessmen. Shortly before Alexey flew back to Russia, we had a discussion about why sanctions aren’t working. He said that sanctions aren’t working because the West has refrained from sanctioning the people with the money. It is not enough to sanction the operatives who just follow orders in arresting and assassinating dissidents. The West must sanction the decision makers and the people who hold their money. Nothing less will make an impact on the behavior of the Russian authorities.

Just a few days before Alexey boarded his flight to Moscow, we agreed on a list of people he felt should be sanctioned if the West wanted to get serious about encouraging Russia to cease attacking human rights and to rein in corruption. He also identified the top eight people on his list.

Commandos & paratroopers: Iranian army launches massive drills near mouth of Persian Gulf

The Iranian army has started a massive military exercise involving commando and paratrooper units. The drills are the latest in a series of war games held by the country in recent weeks, amid soaring tensions in the Persian Gulf.

The exercise, dubbed ‘Eqtedar 99’ (‘Power 99’) kicked off in southern Iran close to the mouth of the Gulf early on Tuesday. The war game was organized by the country’s army ground force, supported by air force and aviation units.

“Today, the Ground Force has achieved considerable operational capabilities in the fields of drones and missiles,” Deputy Commander of the Iranian Army Brigadier General Mohammad Hossein Dadras has said as quoted by local media. “The power and capabilities of the Army’s Ground Force in responding to threats will be demonstrated during Eqtedar 99 drill.”

Footage of the exercise, released by Iranian state media, shows commandos disembarking from helicopters in the desert, and a large paratrooper unit dropping from transport planes, with mechanized units providing support to the airborne infantry.

In recent weeks, Tehran has held a series of various exercises that involved different units of the country’s military. Last week, Iran’s elite Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) held a two-day war game, focused on ballistic missile and kamikaze drone use. The missiles were launched at ground targets, as well as destroying mock warships located some 1,800km away from the launch point.

“The recent war games show to enemies the Iranian nation’s will to defend its independence and territorial integrity,” the IRGC’s commander General Hossein Salami told state TV in the aftermath of the drills. “Our fingers are on the trigger on behalf of the nation.”

International tensions have been particularly high in the troubled waters of the Persian Gulf lately. The escalation followed the seizure of a South Korean tanker by the IRGC, due to the alleged “oil pollution” it presumably produced. The incident prompted the US to deploy a submarine into the Gulf, as well as to reverse its decision to pull the USS Nimitz carrier group from the Middle East.

Hackers Leak Trucker, Rail Worker Medical Records

UPS and Norfolk Southern said they are looking into whether employee health data was compromised after hackers posted medical records of truck drivers and rail workers to a leak site following an apparent ransomware attack and data breach at a Virginia-based occupational health-care provider.

It was not immediately clear how many UPS and Norfolk Southern personnel were affected by the leak of over 3,000 files from occupational health provider Taylor Made Diagnostics on Jan. 8. But FreightWaves found multiple health records for employees from both firms, in addition to multiple smaller trucking companies, U.S. government agencies and defense contractors from as recently as December 2020.

“The security of our employees’ data is a priority for Norfolk Southern and a requirement for our vendors,” Norfolk Southern spokesperson Jeff DeGraff told FreightWaves in an email Friday. “Norfolk Southern is looking into the issue but has no further comment at this time.”

The railway, which employs nearly 25,000 people and operates in 22 states, would not say if it had been informed about the data breach.

UPS also told FreightWaves it was looking into the breach, but would not discuss how many of its drivers may have been affected.

“The security of employees’ personal information is of the utmost importance,” said UPS spokesperson Matthew O’Connor.

Taylor Made Diagnostics CEO Caroline Taylor did not respond to requests for comment.

The ransomware gang behind the apparent cyber-attack recently leaked data from short-line rail operator OmniTRAX after targeting parent company Broe Group. Conti has also leaked data from multiple healthcare providers since the start of the year. Taylor Made Diagnostics has two clinics in the Hampton Roads region of Virginia, where Norfolk Southern is headquartered.

According to an informational sheet on its website, Taylor Made’s customers include the U.S. Secret Service and Naval Special Warfare Development Group — better known as SEAL Team Six, the special forces unit responsible for killing Osama Bin Laden.

Why Hardly Anyone Trusts The Virus 'Experts'

Early in the pandemic, “trust the science!” could actually be used in a debate without attracting derisive laughter. But as the flip-flops, mistakes and, yes, lies have accumulated, a consensus seems to be forming that the health care authorities are no more trustworthy than the people running Congress or the Fed.

For proof, let’s start with vitamin D, which sure seems to lessen the severity of coronavirus infections. As the chart below illustrates (couldn’t find the source, but google “covid vitamin D” and you’ll find lots of studies that track with this data), people with higher levels of vitamin D in their bloodstream tend to experience covid-19 as a non-event while people low levels found the infection life-threatening.

There are obvious questions about causality here, so calling vitamin D a “cure” is going way too far. But if it has even a marginal effect – and the data suggest considerably more — a rational government would, you’d think, be handing out vitamin D like Halloween candy. In fact, since we’re mandating/prohibiting all kinds of other behaviors, we might expect vitamin D consumption to be required along with masks and social distancing.

Even covid-czar Anthony Fauci recently said:

“If you are deficient in vitamin D, that does have an impact on your susceptibility to infection. So I would not mind recommending — and I do it myself — taking vitamin D supplements.”

So why aren’t family-sized bottles of vitamin D arriving in the mail from the CDC? A cynic might wonder if the fact that Big Pharma doesn’t make much money from cheap, widely available supplements plays a role in the government’s apparent lack of interest.

Harry Brant, the flamboyant fashionista son of polo-playing billionaire Peter Brant and supermodel Stephanie Seymour, has died of an accidental drug overdose, his family said Monday. He was 24.

Huffington Post congressional reporter Matt Fuller wrote a viral tweet during the U.S. Capitol protest in which he falsely accused President Donald Trump’s supporters of firing guns into the body of the United States Congress. The tweet remained live for many hours after Fuller’s narrative was debunked. By that time, Fuller had been retweeted by top political figures. Will the mainstream media face scrutiny for pushing disinformation during a time of crisis? Fuller currently remains employed with the Huffington Post.

“They’re shooting into the chamber,” Fuller tweeted during the Capitol protest on January 6. Low-rated MSNBC host Chris Hayes drew attention to the false narrative by jumping in to exclaim in reply, “shooting what!?!?!?!” The construction of Fuller’s sentence made clear that he was accusing patriotic protesters of shooting into the chamber. In actuality, no protesters fired guns in the protest. Capitol Police shot unarmed protester and Air Force veteran Ashli Babbitt in the neck and killed her, but that shooting did not take place in the Chamber. The photo Fuller shared showed law enforcement pointing guns but obviously no evidence of protesters firing shots.

Should Fuller face condemnation for his role in heightening tensions during the Capitol riot? Report: 2 National Guard members removed from inauguration detail for militia ties

There is no plot against Biden or members of Congress reported

Two U.S. Army National Guard members have been removed from the security detail for President-elect Joe Biden's inauguration after the troops deployed to Washington D.C. were vetted for extremist ideologies.

The Associated Press reports that the two National Guard members were found to have ties to "fringe right-group militias," according to U.S. Army and intelligence officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

There is no plot against Biden or members of Congress reported.

Reached for comment by the AP, the National Guard Bureau referred reporters to the U.S. Secret Service, which said, "Due to operational security, we do not discuss the process nor the outcome of the vetting process for military members supporting the inauguration."

After the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, law enforcement at the local and federal levels was put on high alert to ensure that President-elect Biden is inaugurated peacefully. Approximately 25,000 U.S. National Guard troops will be deployed in the nation's capital Wednesday for the inauguration. However, some lawmakers have raised concerns that among these Guard members may be supporters of President Trump who might, in the words of Rep. Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.), "want to do something."

Last week, a senior defense official speaking anonymously briefed reporters on law enforcement efforts to identify potential risks among the guardsmen stationed in D.C.

"We know that some groups actively attempt to recruit our personnel into their cause or actually encourage their members to join the military for the purpose of acquiring skills and experience in our military force," the official reportedly said.

"We recognize that those skills are prized by some of these groups, not only for the capability it offers them, but it also brings legitimacy in their mind to their cause. The fact that they can say they have former military personnel that align with their extremist and violent extremist views. So this clearly is of great concern to us."

The National Guard, Army, Secret Service, and FBI jointly coordinated to vet the 25,000 National Guard members from 44 states for extremist ideologies or ties to radical militia groups.

Acting Defense Secretary Chris Miller said Monday that there is no evidence of an insider plot to disrupt the inauguration or attack Biden or members of Congress.

"While we have no intelligence indicating an insider threat, we are leaving no stone unturned in securing the capital," Miller said in a statement.

Some critics have spoken out against the vetting, which they see as disrespectful to service members.

Texas Gov. Gregg Abbott on Tuesday tweeted, "This is the most offensive thing I've ever heard."

"No one should ever question the loyalty or professionalism of the Texas National Guard," he added. "I authorized more than 1,000 to go to DC. I'll never do it again if they are disrespected like this."

“In the years ahead, Trump will lead his army of domestic terrorists. He will encourage and incite violence. He will play the role of arsonist and fireman. He will start a civil war and then say things were more peaceful when he was president,” the video adds.

Winslow, an award-winning novelist, calls for a “citizen army” to monitor loyal fans of President Trump before invoking Osama Bin Laden.

“This is what we need now more than ever: an army of citizen detectives. I’m proposing we form a citizen army. Our weapons will be computers and cellphones. We, who are monitoring extremists on the internet and reporting our findings to authorities. Remember, before the Navy Seals killed Osama Bin Laden, he had to be found. He was found by a CIA analyst working on a computer thousands of miles away.”

Despite the clear incitement against conservatives — with implications of executions in the style of Bin Laden — social media has allowed the video to remain up.

Politicians, Trump Allies, Nobel Winners, and More Sent Formal Letter to President Urging Pardon for Assange

Politicians, celebrities, journalists, Nobel Peace prize winners as well as current and former heads of state sent a letter to President Donald Trump urging him to pardon WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.

The letter was included with Assange’s formal pardon request that was sent to the White House in December.

Among the signatories are Roger Stone and Dinesh D’Souza, who both received pardons from President Trump themselves.

The letter explained that President Trump could put a “defining stamp on your presidential legacy by pardoning Julian Assange or stopping his extradition.”

“The US prosecution of Assange is unprecedented: he faces 175 years in prison for the same publications for which he has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. This prosecution threatens the constitutional protections that Americans hold dear. DC National Guard Chief Has Everyone Asking: Did He Just Say “Transition TO Military Power”?

In a new interview this morning on Good Morning America, the head of the DC National Guard, Major General William Walker appeared to have said the troops were there to assist with a “peaceful transition to Military power”.

Of course that set off a flurry of speculation….

Was it just a slip of the tongue?

Hard to hear through the mask?

The pressure of national TV tripped him up a bit?

I don’t know.

The man seems awfully calm, cool and collected to me.

He’s a man who is trained to handle stressful situations and perform without any issues.

So….was he telling the truth?

Operation “Lipstick on a Pig”: Was the “Violent Insurrection” at the Capitol a 9/11 Retread?

The media could not move faster to support the impeachment of Donald Trump and to place the responsibility for inciting a “violent insurrection” at his feet.

Whether it was the progressive magazine The Nation, the conservative newspaper the Wall Street Journal, or the revolutionary socialist website WSWS, the conclusion about Trump was the same: he had organized and led an armed group of dangerous extremists to seize control of the Congress with the intention of subverting the Constitution, overturning the election and attacking liberal politicians.

The view being promoted in the media is that Trump and his ignorant followers, claiming a stolen election without any evidence, spouting conspiracy theories about COVID19, are universally assumed to pose an immediate threat to the security of the United States.

CNN announced that Trump was “ isolated and wallowing in self-pity in the White House” as he awaited trial, and even possible imprisonment. The possibility that some part of the claims of fraud in the election might have grounds in fact, that some conspiracies about COVID19 are real, did not cross anyone’s mind.

It is true that hostile forces have taken control of Washington D.C.

But they were not wearing MAGA red hats or waving Confederate flags. No, the takeover was at a much higher level.

The Federal government, the production of money by the Federal Reserve, the educational system and the corporate media from which citizens get all information has been taken over definitively by the multinational corporations Amazon, Facebook, Microsoft and SpaceX (and others), and those companies, and the banks that fund them, have taken home some ten trillion dollars from the Federal Reserve through a series of COVID19 bailouts that remain opaque, if not explicitly classified.

But that real takeover of the Capitol has not been mentioned in the press. All attention is on a selfish, ignorant, racist and dangerous Donald Trump who stands in contrast to a rational, scientific and compassionate Biden administration.

Yet any careful consideration of this “armed attack” on the Capitol suggests that rather than a failed insurrection by dangerous right-wing forces trying to destroy democracy, it was closer to Grand Guignol, to sensationalist theater.

That attack, documented for us in carefully posed scenes, was but the first act of “Operation Lipstick on a Pig,” a move to decorate the radical crackdown on freedom of expression and of assembly to oppose corporate tyranny with the trappings of a multicultural, progressive, feminist, scientific and rational administration.

Over the last few days, Posse Comitatus has been buried in a shallow grave. The military takeover was passed over for talk about whether or not Kamala Harris would wear a sari to the inauguration.

A Death and a Settlement as Bayer Continues Trying to End Roundup Litigation

Seven months after Bayer AG announced plans for a sweeping settlement of U.S. Roundup cancer litigation, the German owner of Monsanto Co. continues to work to settle tens of thousands of claims brought by people suffering from cancer they say was caused by Monsanto’s weed killing products. On Wednesday, one more case appeared to find closure, though the plaintiff did not live to see it.

Lawyers for Jaime Alvarez Calderon, agreed earlier this week to a settlement offered by Bayer after U.S. District Judge Vince Chhabria on Monday denied summary judgment in favor of Monsanto, allowing the case to move closer to a trial.

The settlement will go to Alvarez’s four sons because their 65-year-old father, a longtime winery worker in Napa County, California, died just over a year ago from non-Hodgkin lymphoma he blamed on his work spraying Roundup around winery property for years.

In a hearing held in federal court Wednesday, Alvarez family lawyer David Diamond told Judge Chhabria that the settlement would close out the case.

After the hearing, Diamond said Alvarez had worked in the wineries for 33 years, using a backpack sprayer to apply Monsanto’s glyphosate-based herbicides to sprawling acreage for the Sutter Home group of wineries. He would often go home in the evenings with clothing wet with herbicide due to leaks in the equipment and weed killer that drifted in the wind. He was diagnosed in 2014 with non-Hodgkin lymphoma, undergoing multiple rounds of chemotherapy and other treatments before dying in December 2019.

Diamond said he was happy to settle the case but has “400 plus” more Roundup cases still unresolved.

He is not alone. At least half a dozen other U.S. law firms have Roundup plaintiffs they are seeking trial settings for in 2021 and beyond.

Since buying Monsanto in 2018, Bayer has been struggling to figure out how to put an end to the litigationthat includes more than 100,000 plaintiffs in the United States. The company lost all three trials held to date and has lost the early rounds of appeals seeking to overturn the trial losses. Juries in each of the trials found that Monsanto’s glyphosate-based herbicides do cause cancer and that Monsanto spent decades hiding the risks.

In addition to efforts to resolve claims currently pending, Bayer also hopes to create a mechanism for resolving potential claims that it could face from Roundup users who develop non-Hodgkin lymphoma in the future. Its initial plan for handling future litigation was rejected by Judge Chhabria and the company has yet to announce a new plan.

Sunday’s Riot Narrative Having Failed, FBI Creates Convenient New Anti-Trump Narrative

The FBI under Christopher Wray has come to specialize in the creation of laughably false narratives designed to slander President Donald Trump and his supporters. Wray has really shifted that aspect of his propaganda operation into high gear in the wake of the clearly stolen presidential election that he and his raging dumpster fire agency helped to secure through rank indifference and refusal to investigate.

Yesterday, we talked about the failure of the FBI’s prophesied “violent riots” it falsely claimed were being planned by Trump supporters to magically materialize in all 50 state capitals on Sunday:

Speaking of “violent riots,” where were they yesterday? – Hey, remember when the FBI held a big press conference 8 or 9 days ago and warned the nation that they had “intelligence” (such an ironic word when used in context of this raging dumpster fire of corruption and incompetence) indicating that the evil Trump supporters were planning to stage “violent riots” in all 50 state capitals on January 17? Yeah, we all remember that, don’t we?

So, yesterday was January 17, and it turned out that the FBI’s warning was just the latest in a long series of instances in which the FBI willingly coordinated with the Democrats and corrupt news media to construct a false narrative designed to slander President Trump and his supporters. The closest thing anyone could dig up was the scene below of some clown with a group called the Boogaloo Bois paling around with his BLM/Antifa buds in Lansing, Michigan:

Well, never let it be said that Chris Wray would allow abject narrative failure to prevent him from continuing to do his duty on behalf of the DC Swamp and its reigning UniParty interests. Yesterday afternoon, the FBI floated yet another laughably false narrative designed to advance the narrative that Trump and his supporters are inherently violent, claiming to have “intelligence” from an anonymous source (because of course the source is anonymous) that a literal army of domestic terrorists motivated by Qanon is planning on invading the nation’s capital tomorrow to disrupt the “national unity” installation of the DC Swamp’s designated sock puppet, China Joe Potato Head Biden.

I swear I do not make this stuff up. From a story at the despicable Washington Post:

The FBI privately warned law enforcement agencies Monday that far-right extremists have discussed posing as National Guard members in Washington and others have reviewed maps of vulnerable spots in the city — signs of potential efforts to disrupt Wednesday’s inauguration, according to an intelligence report obtained by The Washington Post.

The document, a summary of threats that the FBI identified in a Monday intelligence briefing, warned that both “lone wolves” and adherents of the QAnon extremist ideology.

The FBI on Monday declined to characterize the credibility or gravity of the threats it outlined for law enforcement in advance of the inauguration.

The agency instead pointed to remarks FBI Director Christopher A. Wray made last week, when he said the agents were monitoring a “extensive amount of concerning online chatter” and noted the challenge of “trying to distinguish what’s aspirational versus what’s intentional.”

Look, all of this – the fake narrative, the demonization of Trump supporters, the latest impeachment sham, the calling up of an absurd number of National Guard personnel to turn DC into a literal police state – is designed to cover for the fact that the Swamp knows that half the public hasn’t bought into its Big Lie that China Joe was fairly and legally elected on November 3.

When the people don’t buy the Big Lie, then the illegitmate government must crack down in an effort to make dissent illegal. This a fundamental facet of any fascist/Marxist/communist regime that rules through fraud and force.

Chris Wray and his dumpster fire agency have a huge role to play in that crackdown, and they are playing it fully to the hilt.

All in the name of “national unity.”
