I grew up with KC style barbecue. Moved to NC long time ago, heard they had great barbecue, so was excited first time I went out to try some. They bring my pulled pork, and I was surprised to see there was no sauce. I asked the server if I could get some. She looks at me like a r'tard and says there is already sauce on it. I now think I am in the twilight zone, because there is clearly no red barbecue sauce on the pile of meat I am staring at, so I ask for more. She then brings me a cup of clear liquid. That is when I realized barbecue sauce in NC is just vinegar. I still don't understand it.
