Prince Andrew’s sex accuser quits Twitter over ‘too much hatred’
Prince Andrew’s sex accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre has quit Twitter over “too much hatred” — blaming trolls and the UK royal’s “team.”
“I think I’m going to take a break from Twitter for a while. Too much hatred & abusive gaslighting,” tweeted the 37-year-old Jeffrey Epstein accuser who has repeatedly said she was made to have sex with Andrew.
“I just can’t right now. For my own health,” Giuffre wrote Monday.
“Well done Prince Andrew team & Trump trolls — you’ve successfully done your job,” she wrote, along with emojis of a butterfly as well as a crying face.
Before her announcement, she had repeatedly tweeted about a Mail on Sunday story alleging that aides for Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, had approached a woman who repeatedly attacked Giuffre online in the hopes of discrediting her.
That woman, Molly Skye Brown, continued railing against her Tuesday, insisting Giuffre was a recruiter rather than a victim.
Giuffre had also sparred online with people angered by her tweets denying that President Trump should be praised for the arrests of Epstein and his accused madam, Ghislaine Maxwell, during his presidency.
The day before announcing her break, she asked one online critic, “How do you sleep at night? I am really sorry that you have so much hate for a person you don’t know & make assumptions of what I am or who I am.”
She asked, “Do you just enjoy going around and bullying a known victim of sexual abuse from the age of 7- 19? This is just brutal.”
Andrew — a close pal of Epstein and Maxwell — has always vehemently denied Giuffre’s claims that they had sex three times, starting when she was 17, insisting that he does not recall meeting her.
