IPFS is garbage. It's a protocol to decentralize domain names, internet addresses, and file pathways…but it doesn't actually decentralize, secure, or encrypt the files. What fucking good does that do?

 

Moreover, they'd like to make you think that you need filecoin so they can get rich. Total shitcoin scam but bay area socialists.

 

It's an interesting tech…better than most as it's an actual experiment rather than just a copycat shitcoin, but not worth its salt and certainly not the solution or even part of a solution which can be built on.

 

The problem isn't solved by building tech that just adds to the internet and technology stack at or above the application layer like with this or bitcoin or any of the shitcoins. The real world changing shit is if you can automate or softwarize the lower layers in the stack which are dominated by monopolies and duopolies.
