The point of that verse is that trees were used for idolatrous images,
and these images were believed to be inhabited by the gods once evoked.
However, as the Prophets have said,
Eyes they have,
but they cannot see,
ears they have,
but the cannot hear,
legs they have but they cannot go…..
etc.
Therefore,
when such a "tree" falls,
it will continue lying there,
impotent,
because it is not a god,
and the people who made it must pick it up and move it.
