Planefag, the helo and C-27 look like they're right on top of the USS SAN ANTONIO, an Amphibious Platform/Dock with lots of command/control capabilities. Just inshore of her is (I think) the USS SAIPAN, LHA-2, a helo carrier amphib assault ship, as well as another amphib (unknown type) to the seaward side.

Not close to the stack of anchored merchants at Long Beach, and no merchants in the immediate vicinity.

My guess? Line of sight comms and personnel transfer ongoing.

Sheer guess - don't see any other activities that would tip me to anything else.

Boatfag standing by.

Two main websites you can use:

marinetraffic.com

vesselfinder.com

Vesselfinder has more targets and functionality overall, but marine traffic usually has a bit better identification of some mil ships.

Marine traffic is the one I just used.

The light blue ship is another (the unidentified) US Navy amphib.

That's one of the things you learn. Mil ships can actually be identified in several different colors.

Reason why I said line-of-sight comms = laser comms. Can't tap that shit but you have to be able to send straight to the receiver. Aircraft are excellent for that. The helo is probably moving people.

While we're all feeling blown out after another day of anticipation and not that much th show for it, they're just cranking up.

Wouldn't doubt they probably have some baby sacrifice satanic shit going on right now. They'll probably pull and all-nighter to try and rev up enough dark horsepower to pull of their scheme.
