Ok, the word LUCK in Trump’s speech today stood out & seemed out of place. I did a cursory look & this came up:

The men who co-founded, and operate, LUCK experienced a paradigm shift during their incarceration that has compelled them to follow their purpose. They now actively seek to be a light in the darkness for Detroit's most at-risk populations. They do this through collaboration and partnerships with existing entities within the impoverished inner city of Detroit.

Prior to their release, LUCK instructors collaborated with the Jackson Prison administration where they created a housing unit for the most at-risk population, i.e., men between the ages of seventeen to twenty-five. LUCK instructors, then called Peacemakers, were trained as mediators and taught the prison population critical thinking, effective communication, ethical reasoning, leadership skills, and parenthood. If the men completed this training, then they had the option to be trained as Peacemakers. Learning the arduous discipline of critical thinking and effective communicating led to the ability to empathize with others. This breakthrough is the why for LUCK men. They are gifted with the opportunity to lead men from the proverbial ditch that they once found themselves in.

LUCK men are on a mission to safeguard the communities of Detroit by bridging the gap between those lost youths, young adults, and the rest of the community. LUCK men are determined to equip those disconnected populations with the interpersonal skills of citizenship that will empower them to transform from being the problem to being the solution.
