A Convention of States could (and likely would) be subverted and result in something far worse than the status quo. The Article V process did not envision the degree of shadow control over politics and institutions that currently exists in DC and the States. Even if one thinks the process could be controlled and not result in a “runaway convention”, the general unpredictability of the eventual outcomes should place enormous caveats over Article V as an option for reform-minded Patriots.
