Satanists herald ‘important win for religious freedoms’ as pentagram joins recognized faith symbols in Aussie hospital

A storm of controversy is brewing in Australia after lobbying from Satanists got the pentagram listed as a symbol of faith alongside emblems of the world’s major religions.

Satanists in Queensland are toasting a “small but important win for religious freedom” after the Sunshine Coast University Hospital added Satanism to the list of recognized religions in its multi-faith center.

The pentagram is now displayed alongside a host of religious symbols including the Christian cross, Islam’s Star and Crescent, Hindu’s Om and Buddhism’s dharma wheel.

Not content with recognition alone, the Noosa Temple of Satan is pushing to have Christian symbols removed from the center, labelling them “an affront to the religious freedoms of other people.”

The group is also seeking to have its spiritual leader, Brother Samael Demo Gorgon, recognized as a chaplain so that he might provide comfort to dying Christians who wish to convert to Satanism.

“I look forward to providing comfort to Satanists when they're in hospital,” Brother Samael said.

Also, I can imagine there may be Christians who are facing death and may wish to turn to Satanism in their last moments.

"We need to give them every opportunity to turn to the Dark Lord. That's very important work,” he added.

While Satanists are celebrating, spokespersons from other major religions have blasted the move. Muslim Imam Ibrahim Dadoun told the SBS news outlet he was concerned about Satanism being used as a diversion to stop people from worshipping God.

Christian theologian John Dickson excoriated the hospital for recognizing Satanism. “It's a joke on the hospital that has accepted this as a faith,” he said.

A spokesperson for Queensland Health said that its service cares for patients of all religious backgrounds and displays world-recognised religious symbols in its facilities. “Facilities may display world-recognised religious symbols as a welcoming gesture for patients and visitors,” the spokesperson said.

Over 18,000 Pentagon Contractors Remain in Afghanistan Despite Troop Reduction

US brought down troop numbers to 2,500 this month

While US troop numbers in Afghanistan are down to 2,500, a deep US presence remains in the form of contractors working for the Pentagon.

According to a report released by the US military this week, there are over 18,000 contractors in Afghanistan. The numbers mean that the Pentagon employs about seven contractors for each US service member in Afghanistan.

At the height of President Obama’s Afghanistan surge, there was about one contractor for each US soldier. As troop numbers decreased, the Pentagon increased reliance on contractors.

About 4,700 of the current contractors are Afghans that were hired locally. The remaining come from outside of the country, including about a third who are US citizens.

US military contractors in Afghanistan are at the center of a major scandal, having been accused of paying the Taliban “protection money” by families of US soldiers that have been wounded or killed in the country.

The Pentagon announced last Friday that it had completed its troop drawdown in Afghanistan, leaving 2,500 troops in the country, the lowest number since 2001. The US-Taliban peace deal signed in February calls for a complete US withdrawal from the country by Spring 2021.

It’s not clear if the Biden administration will follow through on the pull out. The deep entrenchment of contractors in the country shows there are a lot of interests to keep the almost 20-year-long conflict going.

Today, in what resembles a scene more akin to that of North Korea than the land of the free, the 46th president of the United States, Joe Biden will be sworn into office. Likely pleasing those in attendance, Trump put his name on a short list of former presidents and announced he will not be in attendance for the ceremonial transfer of power — which will take place behind several tons of razor wire, 20,000 armed National Guard troops, concrete barricades, boarded up businesses, and ten-foot-tall fences.

When speaking on the historical move by Trump not to attend the inauguration, presidential historian Douglas Brinkley says it means we are in the midst of a major political feud.

“It’s usually a sign that American society is in the midst of major political feud,” Brinkley said. “The fact that the incoming and outgoing presidents can’t shake hands and co-participate in an inauguration means that something’s off-kilter in the democracy.”

‘Off-kilter’ is the understatement of the year. To understand just how off-kilter and out of whack America is, we can look at how the two parties view what’s about to happen.

In the minds of the establishment left, a new dawn is on the horizon with nothing but unicorns, a$15 minimum wage, and free health care and college for all. In the minds of the establishment right, dark times are ahead, as the child sniffing, gun grabbing, senile old man takes the throne to send them all off to the gulags.

The truth of the matter is, however, that there will be no free health care and no gulags — yet.

One thing is certain, though, and that is the US empire will continue to fund its hundreds of bases that literally encompass the globe to maintain its murderous global hegemony. The war machine will continue to march on as drone missiles rain down on brown children in the Middle East and Africa. Saudi Arabia and Israel will maintain their places at the US taxpayer-funded trough and Americans will be fed the scraps from the marble-walled tables in Washington. The national debt will continue to explode, and life for everyone — not just Republicans — will continue to become less free and have less quality.

Thanks to the mainstream media’s role in acting as the Praetorian Guard for the establishment, divide will continue to tear Americans apart as partisan distractions are force fed to us via blowhard establishment shills and “fact checkers.” Despite Joe Biden running on a platform of unity to bring Americans back together, before he was even sworn in, he royally fumbled this promise by alienating tens of millions of Trump supporters — essentially declaring them the enemy.

“Don’t dare call them protesters,” Biden said after the largely peaceful march on DC which ended with a few hundred goons our of tens of thousands of peaceful protesters raided the Capitol. “They were a riotous mob. Insurrectionists. Domestic terrorists. It’s that basic. It’s that simple.”

China calls Pompeo a 'doomsday clown' over labeling of country as a perpetrator of genocide

Pompeo's designation will have to be considered by U.S. government officials when crafting future policy toward China

China's foreign ministry on Wednesday called outgoing Secretary of State Mike Pompeo a "doomsday clown and his designation of China as a perpetrator of genocide and crimes against humanity "a piece of wastepaper."

Hua Chunying, a spokesperson for the Chinese Communist Party, called Pompeo's allegations of ongoing abuse by the Chinese government of the Muslim minority groups in Xinjiang "outright sensational pseudo-propositions and a malicious farce concocted by individual anti-China and anti-Communist forces represented by Pompeo."

"This American politician, who is notorious for lying and deceiving, is turning himself into a doomsday clown and joke of the century with his last madness and lies of the century," continued Hua.

Pompeo's designation Tuesday will not have any immediate implications regarding United States' actions, however, the U.S. government will have to take into consideration the designation when formulating policy toward China.

China has repeatedly denied the accusations, saying that its behavior in Xinjiang aims only to promote economic growth and stability.

Over the past year, the United Staes has implemented a number of increasingly harsh sanctions against members of the CCP, as well as state-run companies, and imports from Xinjiang, including cotton and tomatoes, which were added to the list just last week.

China has captured more than 1 million people – primarily Uyghurs, but also some members of other Muslim ethnic groups – placing them in a large system of prison-like re-education camps.

Individuals at the camps have been forced into labor jobs, tortured and in some instances sterilized.

The ethnically and culturally distinct Chinese-Muslim population are being forced into the camps as part of a brutal assimilation campaign run by the CCP, in an attempt to create a culturally homogenous Han Chinese majority.

The camps in Xinjiang have been connected to a number of products imported to the United States, including electronic devices, clothing and hair products.
