Manafort Lawyers Say Special Counsel Unable To Produce Evidence Of Russia Contacts

The special counsel’s office has said it does not have evidence of any contacts between Paul Manafort and Russian government and intelligence officials

Manafort is a longtime political consultant who has been indicted on money laundering and bank fraud charges

The former Trump campaign chairman laundered millions of dollars and failed to properly register as a foreign agent, prosecutors say

They wrote that the special counsel’s office, which is being led by Robert Mueller, “has not produced any materials to the defense — no tapes, notes, transcripts or other material evidencing surveillance or intercepts of communications between Mr. Manafort and Russian intelligence officials, Russian government officials (or any other foreign officials.)”

“The Office of Special Counsel has advised there are no materials responsive to Mr. Manafort’s requests,” they add.

Goodlatte Demands Sessions Probe FBI’s Coverup of Clinton Foundation Investigation & Andrew McCabe

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte on Tuesday demanded a Justice Department investigation into the FBI’s coverup of the Clinton Foundation investigation.

Goodlatte fired off a terse letter to Attorney General Jeff Sessions demanding a probe of the FBI and specifically the actions of former deputy director Andrew McCabe.

In his letter to Sessions, Goodlatte echoes almost verbatim the intelligence uncovered in an April 19th True Pundit story.

DNC Officials Tell Hillary Clinton They Want Their Money Back

“In February 2017, the DNC agreed to pay Clinton’s group Onward Together $1.65 million for her campaign email list, analytics, donor data and related items, The Intercept reported on Wednesday. The cache of material was worth more than $5 million; Clinton’s campaign made an in-kind donation of resources worth $3.5 million, and the DNC paid for the rest.

“Now, a number of Democratic Party officials, including some state party chairs and DNC members, want Clinton to retroactively donate the campaign materials to the DNC and return the money that the party organ gave Onward Together.”

Clinton should return the $1.65 million “for the love of the party” and because it’s “the Christian thing to do,” DNC officials say.

Clinton spokesman Nick Merrill says the DNC has more than gotten its money’s worth from the materials.

Pentagon identifies Army casualty in Afghanistan as Spc. Gabriel Conde

The Pentagon has identified the 22-year-old Army specialist killed in Afghanistan this week as Spc. Gabriel D. Conde from Loveland, Colo.

Conde, who was serving in Afghanistan to support Operation Freedom's Sentinel, was killed Monday in Tagab District, Afghanistan due to enemy small arms fire. According to the Pentagon, the firefight is being investigated.

Conde was stationed at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Alaska and was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 509th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division.

The Pentagon revealed in November that there are more than 15,000 U.S. troops in Afghanistan.

One other U.S. service member has been killed in action in Afghanistan this year, the first being Army Sgt. 1st Class Mihail Golin, who was killed during an exchange with ISIS fighters in January.
