So again, what is the role of the military? To restore Trump to the Presidency? Or to declare the election void and organise a new one?

I don't think Trump would return in either scenario. His role is played. I think he's exhausted. I think as a gesture of good will, having been vindicated as the real winning candidate, he'd allow passions to settle on the Democrat side (voters) by not putting himself forward. The age of Trump is over regardless of outcomes. I think.
