The douay-rheims bible is a catholic bible which was translated from the vulgate in the 19th century. The Haydock edition is merely a commentary that was added to it by a Priest, Fr. Haydock, in 1859. It was commonly used by english speaking Catholics during its time. Today of course there are far better versions of the bible as knowledge of history, translation and culture increased. The new american bible being the best bible to date.
