Everything that has befallen him since he wrote the last words of the Dark Tower series is his own karma.
He knows what the real ending of the Dark Tower series should be, but instead of staying true to his muse, he employed a well-worn literary trick to get himself out of the jam he wrote himself into over seven books of that series.
Never a bigger disappointment to me as a writer.
