I am not making a comment on the current comparison work, and I dont think my comment below is actually germane to the issue being discussed, but….
As far as I can remember, Presidents use different desks as the Resolute Desk
like Trump's desk was a different desk than Obama's
Clintons was different than Bush's
etc
etc
now, obviously, if Biden had intentionally changed to a DIFFERENT (usually historically significant) desk, then it would look markedly different, and we wouldnt be going through the process of comparing grain because major elements of the desk would be way different…
just throwing that out there

much like the designation Air Force One
whichever desk happens to be selected is referred to as the "resolute desk" so long as it is being used as the Oval Office POTUS desk
