My story will start with the same event. I did not join immediately but it played a factor in me joining the Army, for a period ceasing to exist and ending up broken. I did 8 years, got to tour the world and then got about on the backside. I have fought and lost with the VA, I fell victim to the '13-'14 tossing out of paperwork which lead to a no evidence denial of appeal. I have had the VA drop my rating even though evidence has been submitted. Same month covid started the VA started taking money out of my disability to pay for the difference in the rating they changed, so I get $150 a month for disability now (not that they give you much anyways.) Not going to lie was pretty fucking bitter at times, I have not even seen a real doctor in years other then a ER visit because they are worthless. This has shaded my outlook on life and I have taken it out on people here, sorry even if you deserved it, but here is the thing if wallow in the shit your gonna smell like shit. But you can not focus on being fucked over, otherwise you will find yourself bent over yet again as a victim. Instead find something, even if small and meaningless, to spite the situation. If you just sit their you will never escape.
