Any person who has anything to do with Q, I mean legitimate behind the scenes stuff with Q HAS TO deny. Not out of embarrassment or shame. But just for operational security. If you participate in a "secret" mission or op, and somebody asks, "hey are you involved in that super secret thing?" You don't say, "yep, totally am." That doesn't mean Ezra isn't against Q, but at the same time if Ezra has something to do with Q, he has to say he's against Q.
You see examples of this with anyone involved with Crossfire Hurricane. Though the evidence shows corruption and dirty dealings in crossfire hurricane, you never see one of them admit to doing dirt.
