I for one have long time been telling friends and foes that the left is creating the demons it fears. The main reason being foremost their dogmatic preference of ideals over reality. It makes them deny and negate reality with ease while plotting the wished for outcomes.
Also their dogmatic lenses make them impervious to other viewpoints, insights and wisdom.
This, lastly, makes them forever stuck in a certain phase. They do not evolve and stay thus immature. Islamic thought, culture and society come to mind as fine examples of such ideological shortcomings.
