Small plane crashes off of Boynton Beach Inlet, Coast Guard conducting search and rescue mission

Coast Guard officials are searching after reports that a small plane crashed in the ocean about one mile off the Boynton Beach Inlet Sunday night around 8:00 p.m.

Officials say the plane is a Piper 28 and seats four passengers. A Coast Guard helicopter small boat and cutter are in the area conducting a search and rescue mission.
