are NG trained for bagging people? Nope (more logistics / population support/control)

the NG were there to support the police, drawn from different states … chain of command long/fuzzy/unclear (apparently it only took 1 police officer to have them move to a parking garage)
OTOH
Bring in active duty types, particularly those trained special ops, surgical snatch & grab … a well established command chain, proven teams that worked together in the tightest of situations
Even if they went after entirety of both houses, potus and the sc: does it need 26,000 generalist troops? Or trained proven specialists.
So I'm pleased they are moving out the NG,
yes I appreciate their dedication to duty - absolutely not putting them down,
… but if/for what's expected to happen next - it's simply not in their toolkit.
