DOJ Watchdog Probing Whether Officials Tried To Interfere With 2020 Election Results

The Justice Department's inspector general, Michael Horowitz - a Democrat donor whose wife helped run campaigns for Democrats before joining CNN's Washington bureau - is investigating whether DOJ officials "engaged in an improper attempt" to overturn President Biden's victory in the 2020 election, according to the Wall Street Journal.

"The investigation will encompass all relevant allegations that may arise that are within the scope of the OIG’s jurisdiction," said Horowitz, who was accused of pulling punches to give special treatment to establishment darlings during his investigation of the FBI's conduct surrounding the 2016 US election.

Horowitz said that his office would not comment any further on the investigation until it's completed.

His announcement comes days after the New York Times reported that a top DOJ official and President Trump had conspired in the final days of his presidency to removing the acting attorney general and install a loyalist who could somehow change the results of the election in key battleground states.

Trump was allegedly considering replacing acting Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen with Jeffrey Clark, acting head of the DOJ's civil division.

When it came to his investigation of the FBI, Horowitz notably never interviewed Carter Page - who the agency targeted by fabricating evidence to defraud the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act Court (FISC).

Although Horowitz says he conducted more than 100 interviews of witnesses, including Christopher Steele, who wrote the salacious and unverified anti-Trump dossier the FBI relied on to obtain the wiretap warrant, he failed to interview Page, the target — and alleged victim — of the controversial warrant. Page confirmed to RealClearInvestigations that no investigator from Horowitz’s office asked him questions.

That is not the first time Horowitz has failed to interview key subjects. With the help of seasoned federal investigators, RealClearInvestigations deconstructed previous probes by his office, combing through the footnotes and appendices of his reports. RCI found numerous instances in which Horowitz stopped short of pursuing evidence and was content to take high-level officials at their word, even in the face of conflicting evidence. -RealClear Investigations

Biden Secretary of State Pick Caught on Hunter’s Laptop, Linked To Chinese Funding

Tony Blinken Under The Microscope

Tony Blinken, the Biden administration’s nominee for Secretary of State, managed a Joe Biden project that received millions of anonymous Chinese donor dollars. Blinken appeared a handful of times in emails found on Hunter Biden’s laptop agreeing to advise Hunter Biden when Hunter worked at the scandal-plagued firm Rosemont Seneca Partners. The Obama State Department set up a meeting between Hunter and Blinken which was postponed, and the two met two months later in 2015.

Hunter Biden coordinated introductions between Blinken and his associates, and Blinken was named in an email in connection to a shady prospective deal involving the federal government and Amtrak, a company that previously had Hunter Biden on its board. NATIONAL FILE, which obtained most of the contents of Hunter’s laptop, features the most relevant Tony Blinken-Hunter Biden emails below.

Will these issues complicate Blinken’s bid to become Joe Biden’s Secretary of State? Blinken sat for his confirmation hearing, where he counted neocon support including from Lindsey Graham. But Blinken has yet to be confirmed by the Senate. Blinken’s nomination heads to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee Monday with a confirmation vote this week. Blinken’s link to Biden’s China dealings is especially concerning.

Blinken served as managing director of the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement, founded in 2018 at the University of Pennsylvania by Joe Biden ahead of his presidential run. National Legal and Policy Center (NLPC) submitted a complaint obtained by NATIONAL FILE highlighting the organization’s China funding.

“NLPC filed a major complaint with the Department of Education earlier this year demanding that the University of Pennsylvania and its Penn Biden Center disclose the identity of $22 million in anonymous Chinese donations since 2017, including a single eye-popping donation of $14.5 million given on May 29, 2018, shortly after the opening of the Biden Center in Washington, DC,” NLPC stated.

Supreme Court Dismisses Suits Over Trump Finances

The US Supreme Court on Monday ordered the dismissal of a pair of lawsuits accusing former President Trump of illegally profiting from his presidency, after several foreign and state government officials patronized his properties - including the Trump International Hotel in Washington, located a few blocks from the White House.

The plaintiffs included hotels, restaurants and the attorneys general of Maryland and the District of Columbia, and accused Trump of violating the Constitution's two emoluments clauses, according to Bloomberg Law, which notes that "One clause bars a president from accepting benefits from foreign governments without congressional consent, while the other bars receipt of any benefit other than a salary from the U.S. government or a state."

The cases were dismissed after both sides agreed that the disputes had become legally moot after Trump's term in office ended on January 20th.

One of the key questions in the cases was who, if anyone, had standing to sue to enforce the emoluments clauses. According to the report, lower courts in both cases said the plaintiffs had legal standing, while the Supreme Court set aside those rulings as part of its Monday order - a step urged by the Trump DOJ.

The cases are Trump v. Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, 20-330, and Trump v. District of Columbia, 20-331 (via Bloomberg)

Meanwhile, Trump's post-presidency legal woes appear to be ramping up, as Manhattan District Attorney, Cyrus Vance, expanded his office's criminal investigation into the Trump organization's finances last week.

According to the Daily Mail, prosecutors have begun looking into a 212-acre property north of New York City called Seven Springs, which NY Attorney General Letitia James is looking at as part of a probe over whether Eric Trump and various corporate entities artificially inflated property values. A 2012 document values the property at $291 million, while local realtors say it's worth more like $50 million or less. The Trump organization bought it in 1995 for $7.75 million.

The organization then put part of the property into a land trust via conservation easement, which would leave that portion - 158 acres - untouched and undeveloped, ostensibly resulting in a tax break based on the value of the property. The higher the valuation, the larger the tax deduction.

It [the 158 acres] was appraised at $21.1 million, according to the filings but now investigators are looking to see whether the value was artificially inflated.

'Valuations of Seven Springs were used to claim an apparent $21.1 million tax deduction for donating a conservation easement on the property in tax year 2015, and in submissions to financial institutions as a component of Mr. Trump's net worth,' according to court filings in the New York attorney general's investigation. -Daily Mail

The probe into Trump's finance originated after Vane opened an investigation into hush-money payments made to two women prior to the 2016 election, who claimed they had sexual relations with Trump.

Vance notably came under fire in 2018 over a 2015 decision not to pursue charges against Harvey Weinstein - after an attorney for the movie mogul gave Vance $24,000, while another attorney sent $10,000 following the decision.

Democrats Announce Trump Impeachment Trial Will Start February 8th — GOP Senators May Ask for a Secret Ballot to Hide Their Vote from Constituents

Democrats announced on Monday the Trump impeachment trial in the US Senate will begin on February 8th.

Emerald Robinson announced the news Monday on Newsmax.

There is also talk that Republican senators may choose a secret ballot so their voting base will not know how each member voted.

If they do that the party is over. It’s already floundering after House leaders Kevin McCarthy and Liz Cheney blamed President Trump for the violence in the US Capitol on January 6th.

Recession is over for the richest few, while billions will live in poverty for at least a decade – Oxfam

The Covid-19 pandemic has the potential to increase economic inequality in almost every country globally at once, according to a new report revealed by Oxfam on Monday.

The report, called ‘The Inequality Virus’, was published on the opening day of the World Economic Forum in Davos, which is being held virtually this year. It showed that the 1,000 richest people on the planet recouped their coronavirus losses within just nine months, but “it could take more than a decade for the world’s poorest to recover from the economic impacts of the pandemic.”

“The rigged economic system is enabling a super-rich elite to amass wealth in the middle of the worst recession since the Great Depression while billions of people are struggling to make ends meet,” the report said.

Rising inequality means it could take at least 14 times longer for the number of people living in poverty to return to pre-pandemic levels than it took for the fortunes of the top 1,000 billionaires to bounce back, Oxfam explained. The billionaires’ total wealth hit $11.95 trillion in December 2020, equivalent to G20 governments’ total Covid-19 recovery spending.

Swalwell: We Can’t Give Trump a Chance to Do This Again, He Must Be Disqualified from Office

Representative Eric Swalwell (D-CA) Monday on MSNBC’s “Live” said that Democrats were impeaching former President Donald Trump, so he is convicted in the Senate, which includes a penalty of disqualification from office.

Jackson asked, “Do you plan to address the constitutional authority as has been raised by some of these Republicans for the House to bring an impeachment against somebody and for the Senate to convict somebody who is no longer serving?”

Swalwell said, “It’s constitutional. The Senate is steeped in tradition and custom, and I think it would be persuasive to them that they have actually done this before. They have held a trial for somebody who was no longer in office.”

Jackson said, “You’re talking about the secretary of war?”

Swalwell said, “That’s right, Secretary of War, Belknap, we will all hear that name more than we probably want, but it’s because the Founders put as one of the penalties disqualification from office and because Donald Trump we know will do this again, has such a disdain for democracy and a disdain for public safety, we can’t afford as a country to give him a chance to come close to doing this again.”

He continued, “Our president invited and assembled this mob, he told this big betrayal of a lie, a betrayal of the Constitution that his supporters could stop a steal, and then he inflamed them and then sent them to the Capitol. I think just as powerful as what he did is what he didn’t do once they arrived, once they beat, spit on, stampeded over police officers, he said nothing for over two hours.”

He added, “We’re confident that we can persuade the jury to convict with whatever amount of time they give us. I will leave it to the senate to set the rules. we’ve got the evidence.”

GOP Rep. Comer: Biden Executive Orders Look Like an ‘America Last’ Policy

Monday, Rep. James Comer (R-KY) reacted to President Joe Biden reversing a number of former President Donald Trump’s policies during his first week in office and likely more to come.

Comer told FNC’s “Fox & Friends First” that it appeared Biden is running on the platform of “America Last” after Trump emphasized “America First” in his four years in office.

“The president can talk about unity, but right off the bat, he goes and by executive order, gets rid of the Keystone Pipeline project, he rejoins the Paris Climate Accord, he tries to double the minimum wage,” Comer noted. “These are issues that Republicans have fought for because Republicans have been focused on the economy. And on the first day in the first hour of the job, he does all of this without consulting with Republicans, without committee hearings, and he spooks the private sector at a time when we’re trying to get Americans back to work.”

“It just looks to me like it’s an American last policy,” he added. “An American first policy, which is what I believe a majority of Americans in both parties want, it would focus on getting people back to work, it would focus on getting kids back in school, it would focus on vaccine distribution. These are issues that unify Americans. If the president was sincere in his speech, he would try to focus on issues that unify, not divide. And to begin with, his very first bill that he sent to Congress — it’s a bill to give amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants here in the United States. There’s not a more divisive issue in Congress than amnesty.”

Comer went on to say that it is “very questionable why the president would start with issues like this that divide us.”

Health Sec Says It’s a ‘Long, Long, Long’ Way off from End of Lockdown

Health Secretary Matt Hancock has said it is still a “long, long, long” way off before the government can lift lockdown measures.

Despite some 6.4 million Britons — almost one in ten, and almost half of the most vulnerable groups — having received their first course of vaccinations and the government appearing on track for its mid-February deadline to reach those groups, Mr Hancock said on Sunday that the number of cases of Chinese coronavirus was still too high to predict an end to lockdown.

“… there is early evidence that the lockdown is starting to bring cases down, but we’re a long, long, long way from being low enough because the case rate was incredibly high and you can see the pressure on the NHS, you can see it every day,” Mr Hancock said on Sky News.

Mr Hancock added that he was “confident in the measures that we’ve got in place now” and “what really matters is that everybody follows them”, asserting his support for the current strict lockdown measures which Prime Minister Boris Johnson imposed on the country on January 4th.

When the prime minister unveiled England’s third lockdown earlier this month, he refused to give an end date, mentioning vaguely the period of mid-February — “if things go well” — and later revealing that the new legislation means that measures could be in place until March 31st –nearly three months.

Mr Johnson later added to the speculation that some form of coronavirus restrictions could go beyond the first anniversary of March 2020’s shutdown, when he said last week that it was “too early to say” if restrictions could be lifted by the Spring, with measures likely not to be lifted at once, but gradually, and as senior minister Dominic Raab predicts, with counties moving into tiered systems for the third time.

— Breitbart London (@BreitbartLondon) January 23, 2021

Last week, England’s chief scientific adviser, Sir Patrick Vallance, said it would be “insanity” to lift restrictions sooner than government scientists thought was appropriate.

However, there is mounting pressure on the prime minister to outline a strategy for taking the UK out of lockdown, notably from the COVID Recovery Group, comprised of some 70 Conservative MPs who are sceptical of the efficacy of long-term lockdowns.

The CRG has called on the government to being lifting measures at around March 8th, when the second dose of the vaccines should be taking effect in the most vulnerable.

CRG member Craig Mackinlay, who represents South Thanet, compared the government scientists’ warning about the dangers of new strains to Remainers’ Project Fear tactics during the EU membership referendum, saying that every time the country is close to answering the question of whether restrictions can be lifted, there is another “twist”.

“It seems to me we are now being held hostage to a zero Covid policy which is completely unattainable – or if you do attain it we are going to be in lockdown for an incredibly long period. That just cannot be.

“The next thing will be ‘oh dear, this new variant from Timbuktu is not responsive to the vaccine’, or ‘the vaccine doesn’t work against it’,” Mr Mackinlay told MailOnline.

He added: “There has got to be a time when you have done the elderly, you’ve done the vulnerable… but the words I seem to be hearing is that this lockdown has got no end to it, because there always seems to be a new twist and turn – a reason why it should continue.”

Last week, lockdown sceptic Sir Desmond Swayne, the Conservative MP for New Forest West, warned that the people would “rise up” and demand change unless the government devised an exit strategy.

Migrant Toddler Smuggling Scheme Discovered in Texas Border City

An investigation after the apprehension of two migrants who illegally entered the U.S. in El Paso, Texas, led to the discovery of the fraudulent smuggling of a one-year-old child. An alleged smuggler attempted to illegally cross the child using fraudulent documents two days earlier through the El Paso Port of Entry.

El Paso Sector Border Patrol agents responded to a call at the El Paso International Airport on January 20. Once on the scene, they discovered four migrants attempting to board an aircraft with fraudulent documents, according to information provided by El Paso Sector Border Patrol officials. The four Ecuadorian migrants who previously entered the U.S. illegally were arrested as they sought to board departing flights.

The agents interviewed the four Ecuadorians and learned that two of them previously hired a human smuggler in a scheme to illegally cross their one-year-old daughter through the El Paso Port of Entry. The parents said they had no idea of their daughter’s current whereabouts, officials reported.

The agents launched an investigation and coordinated with other agencies. The search led to the finding of the toddler.

The agents report that a 17-year-old U.S. citizen female attempted to cross from Mexico into the U.S. through the El Paso Port of Entry a few days earlier. U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers assigned to the port determined the documents presented by the juvenile smuggler were fraudulent. Officials turned the baby girl over to Health and Human Services. The report says prosecutors deferred filing human smuggling charges against the teen.

“This serves as an example of the coordinated tactics human smugglers use to exploit human beings. It’s a frequent reality at the border that many do not witness,” El Paso Sector Chief Patrol Agent Gloria I. Chavez said in a written statement. “I am extremely proud of the determination displayed by agents in helping to reunite this one-year-old child with her family.”

Officials did not disclose if CPS was notified about the possible dangers the parents subjected the baby to by turning her over to human smugglers.

US Pharma Giant Merck Says Covid Vaccines Don’t Work

There’s no money to be made with being honest.

We’ve all heard of pasteurization. The milk is pasteurized to destroy germs. The juices are pasteurized for the same reason. Food is pasteurized for the same purpose. Pasteurization comes from the name of a famous 19th century French biologist, microbiologist and chemist named Louis Pasteur. You’ve probably heard of his name, at least in passing.

But it’s just as likely that you haven’t heard of another name, Antoine Bechamp. Bechamp was a prestigious French scientist who lived in the same period as Pasteur and was a colleague of his.

And between the two there was an academic rivalry, but with repercussions on a practical level, in the daily life of every man who lives today.

Pasteur “created” the theory of germs, or microbes. Although it was not a new idea at the time, he put his name on it. According to this theory. the disease is caused by microbes that come from outside. Therefore, bacteria, viruses, fungi are to blame for the disease and therefore the efforts of doctors must be directed towards killing these enemies.

Bechamp, following his laborious research, came up with a completely opposite theory, namely that the disease is due to the human body, the “ground”, which because of food, thoughts and emotions, lifestyle etc. ends up coming off balance and in this state, it becomes vulnerable to external threats (microbes), which have an opportunistic character, and are pathogenic.

Therefore, the cause of the disease is not external (microbes), but internal, due to the body, or the ground, that becomes “weak” and thus invites the manifestation of microbes.
