LEGITIMATE QUESTION I've been pondering for the better part of a year thanks to Maxine Waters telling black people she thinks they deserve reparations.

If the Slaves knew that their descedents would become free men & women even if the Slave himself/herself never saw freedom, wouldn't many of them have chosen to come here?

Parents & Grandparents will routinely endure suffering to make a better life for their kids/grandkids, etc etc. Isn't living in the land of the free that is full of opportunity the unexpected silver lining for these long passed slaves' families?

Africa is still a terrible place to live in most areas. Roll back the clock a couple hundred years & it had to be even harsher living. In Africa people are STILL STARVING & dying of malnutrition. The slaves likely had longer lives than those left behind in depressed 3rd world counties.

Had black people's ancestors not come here, the chances they would have EVEN BEEN BORN are slim to none. Totally different people met when they came to the States & procreated. Had they never gotten on those boats to America who knows who they might have had kids with…meaning most American black people wouldn't even be alive had slavery never happened.

The US black population would be TINY if it weren't for slavery. That forced immigration worked out in the end & if it were me I'd be thrilled that I'M HERE no matter how I got here.

So if the Slaves had a crystal ball & could see the gift of freedom & opportunity they would be handing to their descendents…wouldn't many have CHOSEN it or at least rest in peace that their strife wasn't in vain?

What say Anons?
