Sovereign Party (SP) occupies Location A
Location A is most strategic and controls the land.
Hostile Party (HP) moves to take A
SP holds A and fights back.
Meanwhile SP moves A to location X and establishes full control of land from X. This is done in secrecy after all insurgents in A have been purged and those remaining, known.
SP maintains full force and continually establishes the importance of A and that SP will never give up control.
Once full control has been transferred to X, SP allows HP to strike a victory blow, one that does not cause un-reparable harm, yet allows HP to take A.
HP enters A finding it no longer a tactical location. SP turns from retreat and surrounds A then strikes a death blow to HP.
