It's deep and the cult will always try to recapture the slaves that escape them, when they have them isolated. They need patience and they need someone they can trust not to murder them for talking. Their lives are in great danger when they speak out alone. The cults need to have their secret informants too. The ones who do escape on their own, tend to isolate, in order to protect themselves from getting lured back in.
Wait a minute… is this all part of an actual production or "movie" based on a true story? That would be something! Though I tend to think it's just wordplay. We'll see what happens. ;)
