Syrian refugees languishing in a remote desert camp have launched a US awareness campaign which urges the Biden administration to do more for millions of displaced people and keep the pressure on Bashar al-Assad's government.

The Tribal Council of Palmyra and Badia, one of several competing groups that help run the Rukban refugee camp near the border with Jordan, retained a Massachusetts-based finance and accounting professional to serve as its US delegate.

Syrian-born Mahmoud Diab was appointed to the position in mid-August but has only now registered as a foreign agent with the US Department of Justice.

According to the registration, Diab and the tribal council will provide public relations and awareness campaigns, localised knowledge, intelligence and on-the-ground support to the US-led Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS, the Islamic State (IS) group.

Their goal is to obtain humanitarian and development aid for areas liberated from Assad's rule, advance foreign policies to ensure Assad and his lieutenants can't remain in power and counter "the increasingly malicious Iranian influence in Syria".

"We are opposed to the tyrannical rule of the Assad regime and extremist ideologies," Diab said.

"Our work aims at restoring stability and peace to the populations in the Syrian Desert through grassroots action, including education and sustainable development for local communities; through these actions, we contribute to broader efforts to eliminate ISIS and counter the novel and destabilising influence of Iran and its proxies in the Syrian Desert.

Rinse Repeat start over

American Bridge, an opposition research group founded by liberal operative David Brock, reported the receipt of the 450 shares in late 2018, a gift that was disclosed in its latest tax filings. The multinational internet services company acts as China’s Google and operates under a degree of state party control. The gift was valued at $101,037, according to the organization’s Form 990. It is unclear whether the group sold the stock or opted to retain it in the hope share prices would rise.

American Bridge did not respond to a request for comment.

Brock’s group is preparing to spend at least $50 million against Trump. The nonprofit’s sister group, the American Bridge PAC, recently partnered with the pro-Biden super PAC to form a $175 million joint venture. The PAC has already poured seven figures into the 2020 elections.

Using foreign money to sway an election? The Democrats used to consider that a crime worthy of a 3-years-long investigation.

Media Matters raked in as much as $2 million in coronavirus relief loans as the left-wing blog slammed the Trump administration's coronavirus response, according to federal records released on Monday.

Records show that Media Matters, the progressive activist group founded by Clinton loyalist David Brock in 2004, received between $1 million and $2 million from the government’s Paycheck Protection Program. The loan represents a significant portion of the group’s annual income, which was listed as $11 million in 2017, according to tax records. Media Matters is bankrolled by the Democracy Alliance, one of the largest progressive donor groups in the country.

Restorative justice comes to Bidens DOJ

https://www.axios.com/immigration-zero-tolerance-policy-trump-451868ef-7268-45a1-beba-2edda707e251.html

President Biden's acting Attorney General Monty Wilkinson issued a memo on Tuesday to revoke the Trump administration's "zero tolerance" immigration policy, which separated thousands of migrant children from their families at the U.S.-Mexico border, AP first reported.

Driving the news: A recent report by Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz emphasized the internal chaos at the agency over the implementation of the policy, which resulted in 545 parents separated from their children as of October 2020.

What they're saying: “Consistent with this longstanding principle of making individualized assessments in criminal cases, I am rescinding — effective immediately — the policy directive,” Wilkinson wrote in the memo, per AP.

He added that the DOJ's standards have “long emphasized that decisions about bringing criminal charges should involve not only a determination that a federal offense has been committed and that the admissible evidence will probably be sufficient to obtain and sustain a conviction, but should also take into account other individualized factors, including personal circumstances and criminal history, the seriousness of the offense, and the probable sentence or other consequences that would result from a conviction.”

https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2021/01/26/good-news-impeachment-will-fail-bad-news-five-republican-senators-voted-to-impeach-president-trump-murkowski-collins-romney-sasse-and-toomey/

During senate impeachment rules processes and parliamentary proceedings today, Senator Rand Paul proposed a smart point of order requiring a senate vote on dismissing the impeachment case against President Trump. Essentially this dismissal vote will reflect the baseline, worst case, final outcome, vote of any impeachment trial.

The Senate then took up a motion to table the dismissal point of order. The motion to table passed 55-45; meaning 55 senators want to impeach President Donald Trump and 45 senators voted to dismiss the entire case:

The good news is this will represent the worst case scenario on the final impeachment vote 55 yes / 45 nay. The impeachment will definitely fail in February, and President Trump now knows the disposition of the final outcome. [Though it could get better]

The bad news is 5 republican senators just voted to impeach President Trump. They are: Susan Collins (Maine), Lisa Murkowski (Alaska), Mitt Romney (Utah), Ben Sasse (Nebraska), and Pat Toomey (Pennsylvania).

Murkowski and Toomey are both up for reelection in 2022. However, Pat Toomey has indicated he is not running for reelection. So the most immediate 2022 target should be on Lisa Murkowski of Alaska.

Coming for you Senator Murkowski !

The democrats headed her write-in campaign, she owes them

https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2016/09/25/joe-miller-determined-unseat-alaska-sen-lisa-murkowski/

Joe Miller is hoping once again to snatch a U.S. Senate seat from incumbent liberal Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski, but this time he’s running as a Libertarian.

Miller announced earlier in September that he will again attempt to unseat Murkowski who lost the Republican nomination to him in the last cycle six years ago, but regrouped with a write-in campaign that led her to victory.
