I watched some of the Senate live today. There was a maybe 15-20 second clip of Leahy sitting at the Chair wearing and talking to the chamber. Thought he didn't look so well.
Don't you mean they sold naked calls? If you sold naked puts on Monday and the stock closes out of the money on Friday (the stock went up) you lose what you sold them for.
