You made me do it. The operative word here is hypocrisy. Males can say all kinds of macho things, and that's supposed to be gender neutral and we're not going to know it's a male? What I see feeding the misogyny is males who feel low in the pecking order, can't get their testosterone up with productive activity, and so they have to run in packs, chestbumping each other and bonding over remarks that portray women as lower in that pecking order, to pump up their hormones. To them, being a man around women means to be abusive. You're not stifling gender identity here, you're stifling women expressing themselves, but most women don't have tools to deal with that, no effective, thought-through plan to protect themselves, they just respond from some immediate emotion and walk right into a gamed system that abuses them more and feeds egos of the assholes maintaining it. As someone I knew a long time ago said, assholes abound.
I'm way too old to be surprised by anything.
No, going that route is just feeding a system designed to slime and demean women.
