Microsoft founder and billionaire Bill Gates has acknowledged the conspiracy theories and hatred directed toward him, and he hopes it 'goes away.'

In an interview with Reuters on Wednesday, Gates said he would like to explore what is behind the "evil" and "crazy conspiracy theories" that circulate through social media.

From the beginning of the pandemic, Gates seemed to be at the center of the solution and drew attention for his position in healthcare with no medical background. He is also behind millions of dollars in vaccine funding and a total of $1.75 billion in coronavirus assistance.

"But do people really believe that stuff?," Gates asked, referring to the rumors that the pandemic is intentionally profitable and the vaccines are used to insert trackable microchips into populations.

"We’re really going to have to get educated about this over the next year and understand … how does it change peoples’ behavior and how should we have minimized this?"

Gates added that he is "excited" about the Biden team and is happy the U.S. has rejoined the World Health Organization.

Earlier in the day, a Bloomberg defense reporter said that the Biden administration would temporarily pause some US foreign arms sales, particularly putting under review the sales of weapons to Saudi Arabia and of Lockheed Martin F-35 jets to the UAE.

The US State Department spokesperson confirmed on Wednesday that the Biden cabinet is pausing some US foreign arms sales for "routine" review.

The official also noted that it is not unusual for a new administration to review arms sales that were approved by its predecessors, and many transactions are likely to continue despite the pause.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Fulfilling a campaign promise, President Joe Biden plans to reopen the HealthCare.gov insurance markets for a special sign-up opportunity geared to people needing coverage in the coronavirus pandemic.

Biden is expected to sign an executive order Thursday, said two people familiar with the plan, whose details were still being finalized. They spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the pending order ahead of a formal announcement.

Opening the insurance markets is also likely to result in higher Medicaid enrollment, since people who qualify for that program are automatically referred.

The special sign-up opportunity is only a down payment on health insurance for Biden, who has promised to build on former President Barack Obama’s health law to push the U.S. toward coverage for all.
