Curt Schilling boycotts Hall of Fame after getting snubbed by voters.https://fansided.com/2021/01/26/curt-schilling-boycott-hall-fame-snub/

Curt Schilling was just 16 votes shy of being inducted into the 2021 MLB Hall of Fame… Schilling took to Facebook in an open letter voicing his desire to be removed from the ballot in 2022, which would be his last year of eligibility.

“I will not participate in the final year of voting,” he wrote. “I am requesting to be removed from the ballot. I’ll defer to the veteran’s committee and men whose opinions actually matter and who are in a position to actually judge a player… “My love of this country has always been worn on my sleeve,” he wrote. “My desire to do the right thing and be a good person has driven most of my life choices. I stood at my locker 400+ times after my starts and took every question and answered honestly. Those people who stood there asking the questions know what they are claiming is untrue yet they quote, re-quote and link to one another story after story that began as lies and grew into bigger ones…. The BBWAA voted in no players for 2021.

Communists started in on baseball decades ago. Remember all the cokeheads’ slaps on wrists while little kids getting gunned down on city streets was more common than the cold; Gambling UMPIRE Rich Garcia whose 1980s “probation” was kept secret until someone’s girlfriend spilled the beans many years later in 2002? (Sauce can’t be found now to link.) Just LOOK into subsequent Postseason games which Garcia “officiated” or “supervised” sometime!

JUL 29, 2007  In 1989, at the height of the furor over Rose, Vincent quietly placed umpires Frank Pulli and Rich Garcia on probation for two years after they admitted placing bets with bookies on sporting events. Major League Baseball kept the investigation secret for years, and it didn't become public until the Daily News broke the story 13 years later, in March 2002.

In many ways, the umpire case seemed to reek with hypocrisy: Vincent quietly gave the umpires a pass even as he was banishing one of the best players in baseball history…. Pulli and Garcia continued on with their careers. Pulli was an umpire supervisor before he retired. Garcia now serves in that position. https://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/ain-vincent-article-1.264666
