You can't win a shell game unless you are the one running it. In the stocks game, there are big players, and there are people with all the info. Sometimes, big players make a few waves and come out alright. It's the people with all the info you can't do anything about. I think this one time, a band full of anons actually caught them with their pants down. They probably won't let that happen again so easily next time.

This is what drives me nuts because it makes it very evident that banks aren't the only ones that can create money out of thin air. All this shit does, in reality, is drive the value of the dollar down.

More to it, anon. they tricked people into thinking they voted electronically over their phones. This is a scam, and against the law. I don't care who they tricked, it's wrong. Taking away someone's right to vote, or tricking them out of actually voting, is not something a Republic can endorse or allow.

It is a good look. Fuck the SEC. They will cushy up the market and bend rules for big bad hedge groups but shit all over the little guy trying to make a buck to have some semblance of a retirement. All this is, is evidence the game is rigged. It's intended to take money away from people, and put it into the hands of the few.

So, in this instance, I agreed with Reddit. SEC should go eat a dick. The whole thing smells fishy all around, but fuck it. What else do we have to lose at this point?

Hedge funds "borrowed" shares.

Hedge funds sold those shares to people at an "inflated" price, anticipating the stock to plummet.

Had it plummeted, it would have been just another day at the office, and the borrowed share price vs the sale price to 3rd party would have been all profit (this is known as short selling).

In other words, they tried to create money out of thin air; like banks do.

They got caught "With their dick in the cookie jar" by reddit, and other savvy investors in other forums.

The savvy investors had one big backer that dumped 100k on it, and gangs of anons on reddit and other forums to drive the price WAY the fuck up (goal is 1000 per share; it's currently at 332.00 after hours).

More people caught on, and bought shares.

This means the Hedge fund folks had to take out loans to cover the gap that already happened, with promises they'd make up what they lost and repay the loans they were spotted to cover the bullshit short sales.

This means the Hedge funds lost BILLIONS, and could be in a really really bad spot soon.

Friday we'll know what happens. There are going to be anons that don't sell soon enough and get stuck having invested a few hundred per share, and end up losing a bit. There will be (already are) some anons that made some bank. The big investor from India with his 100k already sold his, so now it's 100% grassroots. The hedge fund people, as another anon has said, have friends in high places.

Who do you think is going to win this game? It's fun as fuck to watch, though, that's for certain.

Start watching AMC and let's see if it gets as much momentum as GME

One hedge fund, and a few VERY FUCKING PISSED OFF lenders. I would expect them to start making up some new rules, or having markets automatically halt buying/selling when fluctuations start happening. I would say that operations like this won't be possible in a month or two unless they are coordinated to the minute on platforms these investment firms and stock markets aren't monitoring. Two problems:

  1. Coordinating an alternate platform for these investment autists to migrate to and coordinate without getting the wrong people following.

  2. Getting enough people to pull this off and still have the capitol to make short squeezes like this even remotely effective.
