The Copter Pilot was a pro. I've just retired from 35 years in the cockpit myself. Pilot error is the cause of most accidents. This guy was doing what we call "Scud Running". Flying beneath a low, solid overcast in low visibility. In an area like that where you've got high terrain only a fucking fool would attempt that. Even if you are very familiar with the area it is still a very unwise decision to make. Look what happened. But I don't know if any fuckery can be assigned to this accident. Would have to see the black box data if it had one. PArt 135 Air Taxi is not required to have BB or Cockpit voice recorder. I'm sure that helicopter had a EGPWS (Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System) in it. Still, even with that, foolish mistake.
