Hey anon, I can also confirm that I am on the fringes of such an email group as you speak of; doubt it's the same one, as I don't think mine is as large as yours.
There is a bunch of truth going around via email chains and forwards; especially with the older generations that never quite adopted the twatter/SM trend, and esp now that they're being silenced if they did use it.
I, too, have observed theories and "proofs" that originated either on here or /pol/ being shared soon after.
