Diff anon here. Shorting is only immoral if you're doing it to make the stock go down, such as was being done during gme. But if a stock sucks and you short it no moral issue.
That's the name of the game if you are holding your shares in a brokerage. You can't get around having your shares shorted, they just need to be there when you go to sell.
