French Police Complain Over Lack of Punishment for Far-Left Black Bloc Militants

Police in Nantes have expressed anger at the light punishments courts have given to far-left Antifa black bloc militants who violently attack officers at demonstrations, some incidents resulting in serious injuries.

While the French government has called on police to confront and break up violent black bloc rioters, officers in Nantes say that the local prosecutor’s office often hands out lax punishments and sometimes release the violent extremists without charge.

A police officer, using the pseudonym Sebastian, told broadcaster Franceinfo how black bloc extremists threw bottles and stones at him and his colleagues, and described how the court released one attacker, a Spanish-speaker, because no translator was available.

— Breitbart London (@BreitbartLondon) June 27, 2020

Prosecutors also allegedly released one rioter on grounds there was a lack of evidence against him, despite the militant admitting to investigators that he had thrown glass bottles and other projectiles.

“The individual was not prosecuted ‘for lack of evidence’. We were left in complete confusion and dismay. This means that even when we see the individual attacking and throwing bottles, when he admits to doing so, when he says he belongs to the black bloc movement, well, the case is simply closed in court!” Sebastian said.

“It’s been like this for the past 10 or 12 years in Nantes. They’re afraid of the police, because they’re running away, but they’re not afraid of justice,” the officer added.

“The fatigue is increasing in the ranks of the Nantes police officers: too much leniency on the part of justice, a lack of support from the hierarchy,” a local police union said, revealing officers were leaving the job over the lack of support.

Police are often the targets of Antifa black bloc members at demonstrations and have been attacked not only with Molotov cocktail firebombs but with chemicals, such as during a protest last year in Paris.

Anifa extremists have also been arrested for allegedly plotting to murder police officers as recently as last month when seven far-left extremists were arrested. The group’s leader, 36-year-old Florian D., is said to have fought with Kurdish YPG forces in Syria.

Mike Pompeo reveals new role at conservative Hudson Institute giving him platform to launch MAGA run in 2024

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has landed a spot as a distinguished fellow at the conservative Hudson Institute – providing him an office and policy platform should he decide to launch a run for the White House in 2024.

The potential Republican field was thrown into disarray following the Jan. 6 MAGA riot in the Capitol – with President Donald Trump not ruling out a return to power, even as the Senate prepares to try him on 'incitement of insurrection.'

Pompeo served as Trump's CIA Director and Secretary of State after serving as a conservative House member from Kansas. He left on far better terms with Trump than other cabinet secretaries, some of whom were fired or pushed out.

Containing China is 'mission impossible', Beijing warns Biden

Any attempt to contain China is "mission impossible", the country's defence ministry warned the US on Thursday, as the Biden administration works to shore up its Asian alliances against Beijing.

Military tensions between the two superpowers worsened under former US President Donald Trump, who adopted an aggressive stance on regional flashpoints such as Taiwan and the South China Sea.

China at the same time poured billions into revamping its military, in line with President Xi Jinping's ambitions to transform the People's Liberation Army into a fully modernised, "world-class" fighting force by 2050.

"The facts show that to contain China is mission impossible, and will only end up in shooting yourself in the foot," warned defence ministry spokesman Wu Qian on Thursday.

"Sino-US military relations are currently at a new historic starting point" with the arrival of the Biden administration, said Wu, urging the US to adopt a "non-confrontational, mutually respectful, win-win mentality."

Tensions between the two superpowers have shown no sign of abating under the Biden administration, which deployed groups of warships, including a US aircraft carrier, to the South China Sea over the weekend.

China has increasingly asserted its presence in the disputed region in recent years, aggressively expanding its territory via man-made islands and reefs, much to the chagrin of Southeast Asian neighbours with rival claims.

In response, the Trump administration frequently sent warships near islands controlled by Beijing in "freedom of navigation operations" which China has dismissed as mere posturing.

Washington has sought to firm up ties with Asian nations this week, with US President Joe Biden reaffirming his administration's "unwavering commitment" to defend Japan, including the disputed Senkaku Islands claimed by China, in a Wednesday call with the country's Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga.

The new US Defense Secretary, Lloyd Austin III, also discussed regional security threats in recent calls with counterparts in South Korea, Australia and India – the latter two have seen deteriorating ties with China.

In response, Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian on Thursday dismissed the US-Japan security alliance as a "relic of the Cold War", and said that disputes in the South China Sea should be resolved between "countries directly involved", and not those outside the region.

Proud Boys Leader Denies New Report That Claims He Was ‘Prolific’ Law Enforcement Informant

Proud Boys leader Henry “Enrique” Tarrio is denying a report that claims he was an informant cooperating with federal and local law enforcement agencies several years ago.

According to an exclusive report published by Reuters on Wednesday, “Tarrio’s own lawyer described his undercover work and said he had helped authorities prosecute more than a dozen people in various cases involving drugs, gambling and human smuggling.” The outlet goes on to cite statements from a former federal prosecutor, an FBI agent, a Clinton-appointed federal judge, along with a transcript of a 2014 federal court proceeding, noting, “there is no evidence Tarrio has cooperated with authorities since then.”Tarrio, 36, said he had no recollection of ever collaborating with government agencies to that extent.

“I don’t know any of this,” Tarrio reportedly said in an interview with Reuters on Tuesday. “I don’t recall any of this.”

Still, Reuters reports that “law enforcement officials and the court transcript contradict Tarrio’s denial.”

Tarrio, who was arrested in 2012, acknowledged his fraud sentence had been reduced from 30 months to 16 months, but, according to the report, “insisted that leniency was provided only because he and his co-defendants helped investigators ‘clear up’ questions about his own case. He said he never helped investigate others.”

Reuters also spoke to Vanessa Singh Johannes, the former federal prosecutor in Tarrio’s trial. She reportedly told the outlet that “he cooperated with local and federal law enforcement, to aid in the prosecution of those running other, separate criminal enterprises, ranging from running marijuana grow houses in Miami to operating pharmaceutical fraud schemes.”

Biden U.N. Ambassador Nominee ‘Praised’ China’s Success In Africa At CCP-Funded Institute, ‘Got Paid $1,500’: Reports

President Joe Biden’s nominee for ambassador to the U.N. is facing controversy after a recent news report revealed that she praised communist China’s success in Africa at an event that was hosted by a Chinese Communist Party-funded organization.

Washington Post reporter Josh Rogin wrote this week that Linda Thomas-Greenfield “praised China’s success in Africa and got paid $1,500” during an October 2019 speech for “Georgia’s Savannah State University in honor of the fifth anniversary of its Confucius Institute,” Politico reported.

The Post reported that Senate aides indicated that Thomas-Greenfield’s speech “was too optimistic and soft regarding China’s policies and intentions in Africa at a time when the U.S. government was trying to shed light on China’s many abuses there.” In the speech, Thomas-Greenfield “touted” China’s Belt and Road Initiative, criticized the Trump administration’s confrontation of China in Africa, and “seemed to excuse Beijing’s debt-trap diplomacy in Africa,” the Post added.

One top Senate aide told the Post that they were concerned that she was “praising the genius of the Chinese Communist Party while denigrating American diplomacy at the Confucius Institute.”

The Post added:

Multiple senators are planning to raise this speech with Thomas-Greenfield at her confirmation hearing, including asking her whether she was paid by the Confucius Institute, which is fully funded by the Chinese government. Sources told me she received a $1,500 honorarium, which was paid by the university. Savannah State University closed its Confucius Institute last year, one of several dozen U.S. academic institutions to do so as concerns rose about Chinese Communist Party influence on U.S. campuses.

A spokesperson for Biden claimed that Thomas-Greenfield was “repulsed” by what she learned at the event and that she “regrets accepting the invitation and endorses Congress’s work to crack down on Confucius Institutes.” The Post noted that Thomas-Greenfield has been critical of China during other speaking engagements.

“I came away from the experience frankly alarmed at the way the Confucius Institute were engaging with the Black community in Georgia,” she said at her confirmation hearing on Wednesday. “It reminded me of what I’d seen in Africa, the Chinese government going after those in need with fewer resources.”

She added, “I truly regret having accepted that invitation and having had my name associated with the Confucius Institute.”

Real Friend children's book author and her husband are arrested 'for abusing and starving their three adopted kids one of whom suffered liver failure and pneumonia'

A Florida children's book author and her husband have been arrested on a slew of charges accusing them of abusing and neglecting their three adopted children, one of whom has spent weeks in the hospital recovering from her injuries and ailments.

Jennifer Wolfthal, 41, of Casselberry, was initially arrested on New Year's Day on charges of aggravated child abuse, neglect with great bodily harm and battery.

On Tuesday, she was arrested again on three counts of false imprisonment.

A day earlier, the woman's husband, Joseph Wolfthal, 39, was booked into the Seminole County Jail on charges of aggravated child abuse, neglect with bodily harm and false imprisonment.

According to a detailed arrest report, the incident began unfolding at around 2.30pm on January 1, when police were called to Advent Hospital in Winter Park for a medical issue involving an eight-year-old girl.

The responding officer learned from a Child Protective Services investigator at the hospital that the girl had been brought to the facility by her father, Joseph Wolfthal, and that she was 'critically ill.'

The Wolfthals’ adopted daughter was diagnosed with kidney and liver failure, sepsis, a staph infection, open infected wounds on both legs and pneumonia in both lungs.

The child's long list of ailments also included malnutrition, bruises and skin infections, which have required weeks of treatment.

In the course of the investigation, police wrote they uncovered evidence of abuse targeting not only the eight-year-old victim, but also the Wolfthal couple’s two other adopted children: a nine-year-old boy and an 11-year-old girl.

The girl reported that 'she did not want to go back to her parents and on several occasions, she referred to herself by saying that according to her parents, she "couldn’t stop sinning,"' which police said was something the Wolfthals would tell their daughter anytime she was punished.

The 11-year-old girl told police she would be disciplined for not going to the bathroom at the 'proper' times, for wetting the bed, for not performing her exercises, which entailed doing squats, and for not eating her meals, which consisted of a mixture of bran flakes cereal, water and vegetable puree, according to the arrest report.

'The [girl] said that there were days that she was fed twice and sometimes she didn't eat her first meal until "3 o'clock in the afternoon,"' police wrote.

When officers searched the family’s home on Kindling Court in Casselberry, they reportedly found the girl's writings, which stated: 'my body stays flat on the bed at all times. I was never given permission to move or say anything. Now I get to write about this along with everything else. I am a fool.’

The PCR test for COVID – 19 Identifies Only Human DNA

Amandha Dawn Vollmer is a doctor of Naturopathic Medicine from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto and has a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Biotechnology. She found that the COVID-19 test does not actually test for COVID-19. The test itself is a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test that identifies DNA particles.

She found that the PCR testing protocol developed by the World Health Organization (WHO) to detect COVID-19 actually tests for chromosome 8, which is present in all humans. One of the “primer” sequences (the start sequence) in the PCR test for SARS-CoV-2, which is used by the WHO, is found in any human DNA. In essence, we are the “virus”.

AOC issues terrifying warning about what will happen if QAnon supporters remain in congress

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez accused the Republican Party of answering to QAnon conspiracy theorists and white supremacists.

In an MSNBC interview, the New York Democrat criticised House minority leader Kevin McCarthy for bending to their will. She said:

“This term there are legitimate white supermacist sympathisers that sit at the heart and at the core of the Republican caucus in the House of Representatives. And when you see someone like the House minority leader of the Republican Party, Kevin McCarthy, respond to white supremacist vitriol coming from his own members – not with censure … not with consequence, you have to wonder who actually has that power. And it increasingly seems, unfortunately, that in the House Republican caucus, Kevin McCarthy answers to these QAnon members of congress, not the other way around.”

She went on to name Marjorie Taylor Greene, in particular, as a Republican congresswoman McCarthy has failed to take action against, despite her extremist rhetoric.

Greene has voiced support for Pizzagate and ‘Frazzledrip’ – a baseless conspiracy theory claiming that Hillary Clinton ate a baby – and called QAnon the work of a “patriot worth listening to”. She has also called for the execution of several high profile Democrats, harassed the survivors of school shootings and tried to force Muslim members of congress to swear their oaths on the Bible.

AOC lambasted McCarthy for failing to respond forcefully enough to these comments. She said:

“He said he was going to pull representative Marjorie Taylor Greene aside. … The thing that I think is, what is he going to tell [these people]? Keep it up? Because there are no consequences in the Republican caucus for violence. There’s no consequences for racism. No consequences for misogyny. No consequences for insurrection. And no consequences mean that they condone it.”

The split between Republicans who never particularly supported Trump, who “kept quiet out of cowardice” during his presidency according to AOC, and “true believers” has only widened since the Capitol riots and Trump’s departure from office.

Some Republicans condemned the attack on the Capitol – and 10 even voted to impeach him as a result – while others, like Greene and Laura Boebert, are still trying to advance Trump’s populist and conspiracy theory-riddled politics in the US government.

Even without a leader, these members of congress and the Republican’s acceptance of them is “extremely dangerous”, AOC pointed out. The consequences of inaction have the potential to incredibly serious: even since the Capitol riot, one of the insurrectionists called for her assassination.

But some Democrats are taking a stand. California congressman Jimmy Gomez moved to try to expel Greene from congress, while Hillary Clinton said that she “should be on a watch list. Not in congress”.

In 2009, WHO was Accused of Planning Genocide

Canadian Doctor. H1N1 Vaccination: A Eugenics Weapon for “Massive & Targeted Reduction of the World Population.”

July 10, 2009

Canadian doctor Ghislaine Lanctôt, author of the Medical Mafia, has underscored the lawsuit recently filed by Austrian journalist Jane Bürgermeister against the WHO, the UN, and several high ranking government and corporate officials. Bürgermeister has documented how an international corporate criminal syndicate plans to unleash a deadly flu virus and institute a forced vaccination program.

“I am emerging from a long silence on the subject of vaccination, because I feel that, this time, the stakes involved are huge. The consequences may spread much further than anticipated,” writes Lanctôt, who believes the A(H1N1) virus will be used in a pandemic concocted and orchestrated by the WHO, an international organization that serves military, political and industrial interests.

Lanctôt warns that the elite and their minions will introduce a compulsory vaccination that will contain a deadly virus and this will be used specifically as a eugenics weapon for “massive and targeted reduction of the world population.” Moreover, a pandemic will also be used to further establish martial law and a police state, according to Lanctôt, and activate concentration camps “built to accommodate the rebellious” and eventually transfer power from all nations to a single United Nations government and thus fulfill the sinister plans of the New World Order.

Swine Flu 1976 & Propaganda

In her book The Medical Mafia, Lanctôt writes about the ineffectiveness and dangers of vaccination. “Because of my professional status, my words weighed significantly in the public eye. The Medical Board’s reaction was immediate and strong. Its leaders demanded that I resign as a physician. I answered that I would do so as long as they could prove that what I had written was false. The Medical Board replied with a call for my expulsion,” she writes. “As I witnessed the disproportionate reaction of the Medical Board, I realized that, for the health establishment, the subject of vaccination was taboo. Unknowingly, I had opened a Pandora’s box. I discovered that, despite official claims, vaccines have nothing to do with public health. Underneath the governmental stamp of approval, there are deep military, political and industrial interests.”

During her trial in 1995, Lanctôt used an episode from the March 11th, 1979, 60 Minutes TV show covering the massive vaccination program foisted on the American public supposedly in response to the 1976 swine flu outbreak. It was later established by the CDC that the virus originated out of Fort Dix in New Jersey. “The Fort Dix outbreak may have been a zoonotic anomaly caused by introduction of an animal virus into a stressed population in close contact in crowded facilities during a cold winter,” note Joel C. Gaydos, Franklin H. Top, Jr, Richard A. Hodder, and Philip K. Russell.

It was also characterized “a rare example of an influenza virus with documented human to human transmission,” according to Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore. The virus is “thought to be a direct descendant of the virus that caused the pandemic of 1918,” explained Richard Krause, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the time.

“Public health experts, fearing a possible replay of the 1918 pandemic, engaged in an intense debate about how to respond. Eventually they launched a nationwide vaccination campaign, which was announced by President Gerald Ford in March. By the end of the year, 48 million people had been vaccinated,” write Robert Roos and Lisa Schnirring of the Center for Infectious Disease Research & Policy. “But the feared pandemic never materialized.”

Instead, numerous people came down with Guillian-Barre syndrome, a paralyzing neurologic illness, after receiving the government-hyped vaccination.

Facebook Breaks Promise To Congress, Still Recommends Political Groups As Democrats Now Fuming

Markey told Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg in a letter that Facebook “has failed to meet commitments it made to stop recommending political groups on its platform.”

Markey alleged that the recommendation system “poses grave threats to American democracy and public safety,” adding that he believes many Facebook groups “are breeding grounds for hate, echo chambers of misinformation, and venues for coordination of violence, including explicit planning for the insurrection in the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.”

“Users organize and coordinate violent and anti-democratic efforts on these pages, but Facebook does not just allow these dangerous pages to exist on its platform, it recommends them to users,” he wrote, citing a 2016 internal presentation that showed 64 percent of extremist group joins were due to recommendation tools such as “Groups You Should Join.”

Zuckerberg told Markey during a Senate hearing back in October 2020 that Facebook had “taken the step of stopping recommendations and groups for all political content or social issue groups as a precaution” ahead of the election.

“Just to clarify one thing: the vast, vast majority of groups and communities that people are part of are not extremist organizations or even political. They’re interest based and communities that I think are quite helpful and healthy for people to be a part of it,” he continued. “I do think we need to make sure that our recommendation algorithm doesn’t encourage people to join extremist groups. That’s something we have already taken a number of steps on and I agree with you that it’s very important.”

In a blog post on Jan. 6 after the breach of the U.S. Capitol, Facebook vice presidents stated, “We’ve had emergency measures in place since before the US elections like not recommending civic groups for people to join,” something they reiterated in another post less than a week later.

But The Markup found that Facebook was recommending political groups throughout December.

Markey noted the report and indicated that the findings “cast serious doubt on Facebook’s compliance with the promises you have publicly made to me and to your users.”

“Therefore, I request a detailed explanation of this apparent inconsistency between your commitments and your platform’s practices, as well as a detailed review of the steps you are currently taking and plan to take to stop Facebook from recommending political groups to its users,” he wrote.

Facebook has yet to respond to a request for comment.

Market is demanding that Facebook address this discrepancy and provide an explanation by February 9. "We have a clear policy against recommending civic or political groups on our platforms, and are investigating why these were recommended in the first place," Facebook spokesperson Daniel Roberts told Insider in an email.

Navy Destroyer CO Fired After Trying to Make His Crew a Plaque with Seized AK-47

The commanding officer of a Navy ship was relieved days ahead of a scheduled change-of-command ceremony after an investigation was opened into his decision to make a plaque commemorating his crew's major weapons seizure in the Middle East, his lawyer said.

Cmdr. Frank Azzarello was removed from his post on the destroyer Forrest Sherman on Wednesday over what the Navy said was a "loss of confidence in his ability to command." He was relieved by Rear Adm. Ryan Scholl, the head of Carrier Strike Group Eight.

Azzarello, who had commanded the destroyer since September 2019, is currently under investigation by the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, said Cmdr. Ashley Hockycko, a U.S. Second Fleet spokeswoman. But the command declined to provide further details about what prompted the probe or Azzarello's relief.

"It would be inappropriate to discuss any details until completion of an ongoing investigation," Hockycko said.

Tim Parlatore, Azzarello's lawyer, said the Navy sacked the commander over his plan to turn a rusty AK-47 assault rifle into a plaque to celebrate the crew's celebrated Arabian Sea weapons seizure.

"He was trying to create something nice and good for the crew – a morale booster for the men and women on the ship to commemorate their good work," said Parlatore, who attended Surface Warfare Officer School with Azzarello. "It's not like he stole an enemy weapon to put into his personal collection or something."

Parlatore said it's not clear whether Azzarello faces further punishment for the move. Hockycko said it "would be premature to speculate if any other members of the command will receive disciplinary/administrative action."

There are procedures service members must follow if they have plans for an enemy weapon, Parlatore said. As a warship commander, he added, it wasn't a situation Azzarello frequently encountered, so he didn't have training on the protocols.

"If he was, say, a SEAL commander, there probably would be a lot more detailed training he would have gone through all this," Parlatore said. "… Aviation and surface Navy, not so much."

The Forrest Sherman was one of two ships celebrated for their 2019 and 2020 arms seizures in the Middle East. Navy Capt. William Urban, a U.S. Central Command spokesman, told reporters last year that weapons, including a new type of Iranian missile, were intercepted on their way to war-torn Yemen.

Pelosi slams GOP on Greene: 'The enemy is within'

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Thursday hammered House GOP leaders for putting Rep. Marjorie Greene on the Education Committee, just as revelations have emerged that the Georgia Republican has questioned the veracity of deadly school shootings around the country.

"It is absolutely appalling, and I think that the focus has to be on the Republican leadership of this House of Representatives for the disregard that they have for the death of those children," Pelosi told reporters in the Capitol.

Pelosi said it's "beyond the pale" that GOP leaders would place Greene on the Education panel.

"What could they be thinking? Or is thinking too generous a word for what they might be doing?" she asked.

"You're just going to have to ask them why they thought that that raised itself to the level of something appropriate to do in the Congress of the United States," she added.

Aside from her comments on school shootings, Greene has also come under criticism this week for past statements threatening violence against Democrats.

Pelosi at one point said "the enemy is within" the House.

Asked about the comment, she said: “It means that we have members of Congress who want to bring guns on the floor and have threatened violence on other members of Congress.”

Greene is a staunch gun rights advocate and past supporter of the QAnon conspiracy theory.

On the second day of President Biden's tenure, she filed a resolution to impeach him. She has consistently been seen without a mask around the Capitol complex, in violation of rules designed to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

The revelations about Greene have sparked an outcry among Democrats on Capitol Hill. Rep. Jahana Hayes (D-Conn.), a former National Teacher of the Year, is circulating a letter to prevent Greene from being seated on the Education panel. Rep. Bobby Scott (D-Va.), chairman of that committee, called on House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) to "explain how someone with this background represents the Republican party on education issues."

And Rep. Jimmy Gomez (D-Calif.) has gone a long step further, saying he'll introduce a resolution to expel her.

Some Republicans have also joined in the criticism, with Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.), a military veteran, saying she doesn't represent the Republican Party.

"I don't think she should have the privilege of any committees," he told CNN on Thursday.

McCarthy said last week that he has spoken with Greene about the impeachment articles, emphasizing that he disagrees with her resolution.

"That's exactly what the Democrats did with President Trump, and why we disagreed with when they wanted to come after him for purely political reasons,” he said in an interview with Greta Van Susteren.

But he and other GOP leaders have been largely silent about Greene's comments related to the school shootings.

McCarthy's office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Twitter & LinkedIn Suspend Former Navy SEAL & Vets 4 Child Rescue Founder Craig Sawyer Over Covid Talk

Twitter & LinkedIn went after former United States Navy SEAL Craig Sawyer on Wednesday over his posting of CDC stats on the coronavirus. The level of tyranny and censorship from Big Tech in America is out of control. But you already knew that if you’re a conservative.

According to Sawyer, LinkedIn blocked him from making posts because he was sharing CDC stats. You read that right, he was blocked from posting on LinkedIn for sharing actual CDC stats.

If that wasn’t enough, then Twitter just suspended Sawyer for 7 days for doing the exact same thing. The level of tyrannical conservative censorship is out of control America.

As many of you have heard the late great Hank Aaron passed away last week, just two weeks after receiving the the Covid-19 vaccine. Sawyer made a post that everyone was thinking.

Israel’s wish list for a new Iran Deal: Stop enrichment before missiles

Another Israeli priority is “anywhere, anytime inspections” of Iran nuclear sites, as opposed to Tehran being forewarned as the deal currently requires.

Ensuring US President Joe Biden’s administration works to fully and effectively prevent Iran from developing a nuclear weapon is the first priority for Israel, before the oft-discussed clauses to stop Tehran’s ballistic missile program and malign actions throughout the Middle East, senior Israeli officials involved in formulating Israel’s strategy said this week.

Israel will first work to discourage the US from opening its discussions with Iran with “compliance for compliance,” meaning that the US would rejoin the 2015 Iran nuclear deal and lift sanctions as a gesture in exchange for Iran complying with the agreement, a high-level government source said.

If the Biden administration enters into talks with Iran, Israel will seek to ensure the weak points of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, the 2015 nuclear agreement between Iran and world powers, are left out of the new deal.

Those include removing the sunset clauses, which gradually removed sanctions and limitations on uranium enrichment, such that Iran would have been able to develop a nuclear weapon in 2030 under the terms of the JCPOA.

Another Israeli priority is “anywhere, anytime inspections” of Iran nuclear sites, as opposed to Tehran being forewarned as the deal currently requires.

Those are far more important to Israel than something members of the Biden administration and some Israeli media reports have suggested: to add clauses to the JCPOA to stop Iran’s ballistic missile program and malign activities in the region.

“We can live with what [Iran does] in Syria – we attack there anyway,” the senior source said. “The sunset clauses are a bigger concern for Israel.”

A senior official from another part of the government said Iran must not have a right to enrich uranium under whatever future framework is reached.

“No country that wants a peaceful nuclear program should demand to enrich independently,” the official said.

Still, the government has yet to adopt an official plan on addressing the Biden administration’s intention to negotiate a return to the Iran deal. As reported in The Jerusalem Post earlier this week, the security cabinet has not met to discuss the matter, but the senior government source said a smaller forum of top ministers will likely determine overall strategy.

In recent weeks, Biden administration officials have said talk of rejoining the JCPOA is premature, and that they plan to speak with allies in the region, Israel among them, before negotiating with Iran.

Both sources said Israel is reassured by those remarks, and that Israel is not looking for a fight with Biden. Rather, Israeli officials prefer that there be conversations behind closed doors between top officials.

They pointed out that a good relationship with the US is of strategic importance to Israel.

Democrat governors signal post-Trump shift to less harsh COVID-19 restrictions

Hardline governors relaxing some rules in the first week of the Biden presidency, even as virus case levels remain elevated.

In recent weeks, high-profile anti-Trump governors have begun signaling a potential shift away from the hardline COVID-19 policies of the past year toward less restrictive mitigation measures — just in time, it seems, for the end of Donald Trump's presidency and the beginning of Joe Biden's.

Over the past year, state and local officials — elected and appointed, from governors on down — enacted myriad public health rules and regulations in an effort to slow or halt the spread of COVID-19. Frequently highly restrictive, such policies have ranged from widespread closures of "nonessential" businesses, to mask mandates, to bans on indoor dining, to numerous other relatively novel measures meant to reduce viral transmission throughout the country.

Though the efficacy of such measures is disputed, many public officials insisted that they were both necessary and open-ended, with leaders arguing that policies such as masking and social distancing would be in force for the foreseeable future.

Yet, starting as the Trump administration was winding down and continuing since its end, multiple governors politically hostile to Trump have been announcing what appear to be abrupt and in some cases underdetermined departures from earlier hardline approaches to COVID mitigation.

Among the most prominent shifts was that of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, whose COVID measures have been at times among the most severe in the country and who in the earlier months of the pandemic was effectively the public face of government efforts to control the virus.

Cuomo, whose state is the second-worst in the country for population-adjusted deaths behind only neighboring New Jersey, said on Dec. 16 that "a [statewide] shutdown in January is possible," explaining that he would determine that policy by how much cases rose in the following four weeks.

On the day Cuomo made that claim, about 11,000 New York State residents tested positive for the virus. A month later, daily average positive tests had risen significantly, with over 15,200 state residents testing positive on Jan. 11.

Still, on that date — just nine days before Trump was set to leave office — Cuomo delivered a markedly different message about lockdowns.

"We simply cannot stay closed until the vaccine hits critical mass," he wrote in a tweet on that day. "The cost is too high. We will have nothing left to open."

The governor argued that New York "must reopen the economy," though he qualified that the state "must do it smartly and safely."

House GOP Calls on UPenn to Turn Over Records on Biden Center and China Funding

Top Republicans on three House investigative committees are demanding that the University of Pennsylvania release funding records on the school’s Penn Biden Center, a policy institute launched by President Joe Biden in 2017.

In a letter sent Thursday to University of Pennsylvania president Amy Gutmann, the lawmakers also asked for records related to the recent surge in donations to the university from China as well as information on any contracts and agreements between Penn and the Chinese government.

The university has received over $72 million from China since the Penn Biden Center opened—up from $21 million in the same time frame prior—prompting questions from watchdog groups and lawmakers about whether the uptick had any relation to the center.

"Understanding whether the University of Pennsylvania’s Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement (Biden Center) received funds from China or other adversarial nations at the behest of the Biden family or future Biden Administration officials will shed light on the depth and breadth of the potential improper influence these nations enjoy over the Biden family," said the letter from House Committee on Oversight and Reform ranking member James Comer (R., Ky.), House Committee on the Judiciary ranking member Jim Jordan (R., Ohio), and the House Committee on Education and Labor ranking member Virginia Foxx (R., N.C.).

The lawmakers also said they are concerned about China's efforts to influence U.S. academics. The Penn Biden Center, which was run by Biden’s secretary of state Antony Blinken and employed other Biden aides, has declined to disclose details about its funding.

The representatives asked Gutmann to provide the committees with "[a]ll unredacted records of gifts from, contracts or agreements with, and restricted or conditional gifts from or contracts with the Chinese government, the Communist Party of China, or any affiliated organizations, any Chinese national, or any businesses primarily located in China, for the period of January 1, 2013, to the present."

They also requested "[a]ll information, documents, and communications between and among the University of Pennsylvania, any of its current or former employees or affiliates, and any of the parties included in request 1," including communications with Biden, Blinken, and university administrators who oversee the global initiatives department that houses the Penn Biden Center.

The University of Pennsylvania has denied that there is a connection between its increase in funding from China and the Penn Biden Center.

New York Times opinion writer arrested as alleged Iran agent, accused of writing ‘propaganda’ pieces

A New York Times opinion writer was arrested and charged with acting as an unregistered foreign agent of the Iranian government last week, The Algemeiner reported.

Kaveh Afrasiabi, a former political science professor and former adviser to Iran’s nuclear negotiation team, has been accused of violating the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA).

According to a press release from the Department of Justice, “Afrasiabi allegedly sought to influence the American public and American policymakers for the benefit of his employer, the Iranian government, by disguising propaganda as objective policy analysis and expertise,” Acting U.S. Attorney DuCharme said.

The press release states that Afrasiabi has a PhD and frequently publishes books and articles. He also appears on American television programs discussing foreign relations matters, particularly Iran’s relations with the United States.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office now accuses him of pushing propaganda.

Afrasiabi was allegedly paid, directed and controlled by the Government of Iran to lobby U.S. government officials and to create and disseminate information favorable to the Iranian government for over a decade.

“For over a decade, Kaveh Afrasiabi pitched himself to Congress, journalists, and the American public as a neutral and objective expert on Iran,” stated Assistant Attorney General Demers.

“However, all the while, Afrasiabi was actually a secret employee of the Government of Iran and the Permanent Mission of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations (IMUN) who was being paid to spread their propaganda. In doing so, he intentionally avoided registering with Department of Justice as the Foreign Agents Registration Act required.”

The Times published an opinion article co-written by Afrasiabi in 2018 that called for a meeting between former President Trump and President Hassan Rouhani of Iran.

“Mr. Trump and Mr. Rouhani should listen to reason and take the opportunity this month to sit down for a face-to-face conversation. It would be the truly bold thing to do,” the article states.

In 2012, The Times published an article by Afrasiabi which claimed world leaders gathering in Tehran for a summit would “elevate Iran as the movement’s new president for three years and enhance Tehran’s regional and international clout” but “unfortunately, the United States … adopted a purely negative approach toward the Tehran summit.”

In a statement to The Algemeiner, Afrasiabi called the government’s claim that he was a secret Iranian agent “absurd” and “wild.”

“Whatever I did was perfectly legal and fully transparent,” Afrasiabi said.

“My conscience is clear, and if the U.S. government had an iota of sense of appreciation, they would thank me for all my tireless activities for the cause of detente, non-proliferation, human rights, inter-religious dialogue and understanding.”

Afrasiabi acknowledged that he was paid by the Iranian mission at the United Nations.

“I received checks from the Mission’s UN account and it never occurred to me that I was doing anything illegal,” he said.

Afrasiabi said that he was not lobbying America on behalf of Iran, but rather lobbying Iran on behalf of America.

DHS Terrorist Bulletin Paints Non-Violent Protesters And Protesters Against Police Violence As Extremists

Living through years of Occupy Wall Street and Black Lives Matter protests and watching nothing change can make one angry beyond words. Especially after last year’s protests when things looked like they might actually change, as politicians seemed to care about ending police violence, but instead gave us watered-down police reform bills.

A recent Homeland Security "National Terrorism Advisory" bulletin proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that absolutely nothing has changed. In fact things might just have gotten worse for police violence protesters and activists.

The very first paragraph of the bulletin warns first responders that police should be on the look out for people who object to government authority and more.

"The Acting Secretary of Homeland Security has issued a National Terrorism Advisory System Bulletin due to a heightened threat environment across the United States, which DHS believes will persist in the weeks following the successful Presidential Inauguration. Information suggests that some ideologically-motivated violent extremists with objections to the exercise of governmental authority and the presidential transition, as well as other perceived grievances fueled by false narratives, could continue to mobilize to incite or commit violence."

What do the Feds mean by "ideologically-motivated violent extremists as well as other perceived grievances" and "could continue to mobilize"?

Well for one thing, using 'could mobilize’ as a reason to justify leaving a military presence in and around our Capitol until March should concern everyone.

As journalist Glenn Greenwald said, "It is hard to overstate what an extreme state of affairs it is to have a sustained military presence in American streets."

"Why was the idea of troops in American streets so grotesque and offensive in June, 2020 but so normalized now? Why were these troops likely to indiscriminately arrest and murder black reporters and other journalists over the summer but are now trusted to protect them? And what does it say about the current climate, and the serious dangers it poses, that the public is being trained so easily to acquiesce to extreme measures in the name of domestic security?"

It appears that things have gone from bad to worse as DHS seems to be using the Capitol riot as an excuse to paint non-violent protesters and protesters against police violence as extremists.

"Throughout 2020, Domestic Violent Extremists (DVEs) targeted individuals with opposing views engaged in First Amendment-protected, non-violent protest activity. DVEs motivated by a range of issues, including anger over COVID-19 restrictions, the 2020 election results, and police use of force have plotted and on occasion carried out attacks against government facilities."

Non-violent protesters and protesters against police use-of-force are to be considered Domestic Violent Extremists? What world are we living in?

DHS also appears to want law enforcement to target people like BLM activists who are trying to put an end to government sanctioned police violence.

"DHS remains committed to preventing violence and threats meant to intimidate or coerce specific populations on the basis of their religion, race, ethnicity, identity or political views."

How will the Feds accomplish their new goal of painting peaceful protesters and activists as DVE’s?

By using DHS’s If You See Something, Say Something talk to the police program or contact the FBI and last but not least, contacting your local police/Fusion Centers.

"We ask the public to report suspicious activity and threats of violence, including online activity, to local law enforcement, FBI Field Offices, or their local Fusion Center."
