What if Q196 was not a reference to Gold 197, but a reference to Mercury 196, an isotope that transmutes into Gold 197?
What if one or more of the 5000+ US Patents currently classified as TOP SECRET details an efficient method of transmutation of elements, particularly that of base metals to precious metals?
Too far fetched you say? Well, its certainly theoretically possible and has even been proven empirically, its just not considered "efficient" enough to be currently profitable.
People seem to forget that until the discovery of nuclear radiation in the early 1900's, all the claims of Alchemical transmutation including Isaac Newton's alchemical formula for the Philosopher's Stone had been thoroughly "debunked" by the "Authorities" for hundreds of years.
Does anyone really believe that its just a mere coincidence that isotopes of the same base metals that were allegedly transmuted into Gold by Alchemists is backed by empirical evidence today?
Its important to remember that airplanes were considered theoretically impossible at the time Becquerel opened a drawer and discovered spontaneous radioactivity in March 1896, seven years before the Wright Brothers were credited for the discovery of winged flight @ Kitty Hawk, North Carolina.
