During the Spanish flu pandemic of 1918/19, 6-ply cotton masks were mandated. The biggest killer in 1918/19 wasn't the flu but bacterial pneumonia, which was likely caused by excessive mask-wearing.
Fauci knows this. He wrote a paper on it. He also said months ago that masks were of no use.
