https://zeronet.io/

The source code for it is published and in python script and the site code is java.

It is not a site or even a platform so much as it is its own protocol - think html or http. It tells your computer how to manage torrent files to create something similar to the internet.

So it works very differently.

The key thing to keep in mind is that default settings on most millchan derived boards is to download and seed thumbnail images. So if people come along and spam images you aren't fond of or think may be illegal, the defacto settings have you downloading at least the thumbnail.

If you are paranoid about that, then there is an option to not download any images (effectively spoiler all).

Also, keep in mind that the current community on most of it is rather insular and is there not because they believe in or support the platform, but because it is a hangout away from most people. So their response to new people can, in some circles, be unwelcoming and hostile toward the idea they are now in the town center. So if something gets too popular expect the locals to shit on the floor and roll in it to try and get the normies to go away. Just bear in mind what it is.

It's about to melt down the whole infrastructure of wallstreet and there's really no way of stopping it. It is spreading to other stocks and there have been calls to try and punch into the commodities market. Do you know what derivatives are?

You think shorting against more stock than exists is fun - what about selling more stuff than exists?

With increased volatility of liquidity, many in the market are already seeing the "… Wait a minute…" Marker - and are going for safer havens.

The way zeronet works is it uses torrent files to create a peer to peer site hosting infrastructure. Most sites are just text or are kind of like little geocities sites/blogs. But a few of them are image boards based around the millchan engine (think of it as an effort to clone the tinyboard idea into zeronet).

The way everything is currently scripted, files are downloaded to your hard drive and your browser looks at your hard drive for the site and its content.

There is the potential to develop around this (again, think of this as the netscape or even darpanet hyperterminals of the old era) - but for the moment, if you hop on millchan and click to unspoil an image, that image is downloaded to your hard drive.

Note that thumbnails are usually cached even on a normal browser.

If you select to mute the post or user - then the post will be removed from your local copy of the site and if you decide to mute them, you remove everything of their ID belonging to that site (or, in some cases, all of zeronet) from your computer.

So, on one hand, the filter option is supreme on zeronet. You can remove someone from your internet.

Granted, they can create a new id and then be back up to the same shenanigans, but there are routines to limit how effective botspam is.
