C-130s crash semi regularly for all kinda of reasons. Mechanisms fail, people make mistakes at sometimes try stupid things. There are a lot of them out and many are flown by second and third world nations that don't take maintenance seriously.
At the C-130 schoolhouse at Little Rock AFB the Puerto Rico guard students are, as a group, terrible aviators. Some were ok, none were great and most were in what I would call the bottom quarter of Air Force aviators. If it's my ass as a passenger in a plane I would rather fly with any other unit in the US military than the PR Air National Guard. The reason they fly the dregs of the C-130 fleet is that the USAF doesn't trust them with anything else. They USAF took their F-16s away years ago after they crashed one and tried to cover up that they were missing a plane. It's a sad thing that these guys died, a terrible thing for their families, but it's hardly a surprise.
There may be some deep state shit going on with other plane crashes but I don't think for a minute that this C-130 crash has anything behind it. A bunch of Puerto Rican's crashing a clapped out plane on the way to the boneyard doesn't require any more deep state action than finding a fat guy in a donut store.
