New York’s Department of Health released a ludicrous directive early on in the pandemic in 2020 that forced nursing homes in New York state to take in infected coronavirus patients.

This insane policy caused several thousand deaths in New York state.

On Thursday the New York State Attorney General admitted that nursing home deaths in New York State were undercounted by as much as 50%.

On Friday Governor Andrew Cuomo proved he is as heartless as he is reckless.

The New York Governor told reporters, “Whether a person died in a nursing home or a hospital… Who cares? They died!”

Germany Fires Top Financial Watchdog 7 Months After Being Blamed For Wirecard Collapse

Earlier this week, it appeared that the German government would be taking a page out of the American playbook by letting top regulators walk while scapegoating a mid-level employee for responsibility in the Wirecard scandal, the biggest accounting fraud in German history.

One day after BaFin (in English: the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority) suspended an employee and filed a criminal complaint against him. On Friday evening (Frankfurt Time), BaFin is taking things one step further on orders from Olaf Scholz, Angela Merkel's finance minister.

Scholz has sacked BaFin chief Felix Hufeld, the head of the financial watchdog, amid a torrent of criticism that Hufeld deliberately ignored warnings about fraud at Wirecard from myriad sources, choosing instead to angrily pursue both journalists and short-sellers (the agency sued two FT reporters while briefly prohibiting short-selling in the company's shares). The investigation into the FT reporters wasn't brought to a close until two months after two months after Wirecard's bankruptcy filing.

Recent evidence has also emerged putting a spotlight on shady insider trades executed at another German regulator responsible for overseeing audit firms that operate within the country.

Gerhard Schick, head of consumer lobby group Finance Watch Germany, on Thursday called for the dismissal of both Hufeld and Roegele, adding that the watchdog waited until immense public pressure had built up before it cracked down.

Wirecard shares collapsed seven months ago after KPMG published a special audit confirming that a $2BN hole had been blown by its balance sheet, as executives for the company - one of whom is believed to be an FSB spy - reportedly made up 2/3rds of Wirecard's business. It has also been shown that much of the missing money had been looted by executives in the week or so before the KPMG report was published.

Media reports claimed that Hufeld had discussed with Scholz the possibility that Wirecard may have been the victim of an elaborate plot organized by nefarious short sellers. But in the end, Hufeld couldn't substantiate any of this, and after a brief "conversation" with Scholz on Friday, the former BaFin had agreed to go quietly.

Hufeld is finally leaving seven month after Wirecard collapsed amid what has been branded as the worst accounting fraud in post-war German history. In a statement, Scholz acknowledged that Wirecard had taught Germany a bitter lesson: the fact that its financial regulation "needs to be reorganized". And this is only something that can be handled with change at the top.

Robinhood Caps Maximum Holdings In 36 Stocks To Just One Share

Something bad is about to go down at Robinhood.

One day after the company drew down on its bank lines and obtain a $1 billion rescue capital investment, the company found itself in lockdown mode, allowing just a handful of shares to be bought at a time, effectively shutting down in all but name (it couldn't risk another day of furious public outcry and massive client departures if it blocked trading completely).

However, just before the close, things got downright surreal when in a blog post the broker - which should probably change its name from Robinhood to Suit - made a shocking announcement: going forward, customers will be subject to maximum aggregate limits in 51 securities of which 14 are capped at position limits of just 5 shares, while allowing total holdings in 36 securities to be just one share!

In other words, as of this moment, no client is allowed to one more than 1 share in names like GME, AMC, AG, BBBY, BYND, WKHS and many others. Even boring, low vol names like GM and SBUX are limited to just one share.

This is what the blog post said:

"The table below shows the maximum number of shares and options contracts to which you can increase your positions. Please note that these are aggregate limits for each security and not per-order limits, and include shares and options contracts that you already hold. These limits may be subject to change throughout the day."

Panicked clients who are wondering if this means that their current holdings which exceed 1 laughable share will be forcefully liquidated can breathe for now: the company said that "outside of our standard margin-related sellouts or options assignment procedures, your positions will not be sold for the sole reason that you are currently over the limit. However, you will not be able to open more positions of each of these securities unless you sell enough of your holdings such that you are below the respective limit." (we expect that to change on Monday, if the company is still around.)

In other words, virtually nobody can buy any new securities.

The company also disclosed that no fractional shares can be bought going forward as "fractional shares are currently position closing only for all of the securities listed in the table above. This means you can sell and close your fractional positions, but you can't open new fractional positions. However, you can still open new whole share positions according to the limits listed above."

Why is this happening? The most likely reason is that between DTC, clearinghouses and other regulatory entities, Robinhood was found to be in another capital deficiency position - even with the billions raised overnight - and it is being forced to delever.

This likely means that Robinhood is as of this moment, scrambling to obtain even more capital, although we somehow doubt it will be just as easy to "take from the rich" as it was late last night especially since the client exodus is surely accelerating.

It also means that we may have to have another "Lehman Weekend" situation on our hands, only this time it will be a "Robinhood Weekend", and an urgent acquisition from a strategic buyer may be required to prevent the worst case outcome. We only hope that the billions in funds held in custody for clients is segregated should the company collapse (pinging Jon Corzine here).

In any case, expect a lot of Robinhood related news over the weekend.

"It Just Doesn't Work As Expected" - Macron Questions Vaccine Credibility As EU Approves AstraZeneca Jab

A battle is raging in Europe over the safety of vaccines on Friday. As the EMA insists that the AstraZeneca's COVID vaccine was safe, before approving it for everyone over 18, French President Emmanuel Macron has just expressed serious doubts about the jab's efficacy, just as Europe's second-largest economy is supposedly struggling to convince citizens to take the vaccine.

Just before the EMA's expert committee unanimously recommended the vaccine to be used on all adults over 18, concerns were raised this week that not enough data exist to prove that the vaccine works in older people, and those concerns were amplified by Macron, much to the chagrin of some fellow EU leaders.

"The real problem with AstraZeneca is just that it doesn’t work as expected, because there we have very little information," Macron told a group of foreign reporters at the Elysée Palace on Friday.

The comments come after days of Brussels pushing back against AstraZeneca and other vaccine makers' delays in delivering the vaccines, even as skepticism of their efficacy remains widespread, especially in France and Germany.

The AstraZeneca jab is only the third given the greenlight by the EMA, after the Pfizer and Moderna jabs.

Europe still approved the jab on Friday, despite widespread doubts and criticisms about whether it's efficacy. Too many bureaucrats were apparently anxious of the delay in the bloc's decision to approve and roll out the vaccines. Even the mainstream press acknowledged that "concerns" had been raised about the vaccine's use in elderly patients.

The trials upon which the EMA based its decision found that the AZ vaccine was roughly 60% effective.

Macron added that the US hadn't approved the AZ jab yet, and added that France was waiting on the EUA's decision. Still, the president didn't sound particularly enthusiastic, and his remarks follow an independent commission advising the German government's findings that the AZ-Oxford vaccine shouldn't be used on people over 65.

The French president added that "everything suggests that it is almost ineffective for those over 65, and some say over 60."

US imposes federal mask mandate on all forms of public transportation from February 1

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has ordered Americans to wear masks on all forms of public transport, including airplanes, trains, and buses. They also must remain masked up in airports and bus terminals.

Starting from February 1, people in the US must wear masks on planes, trains, subways, buses, taxis, ships, and ferries. They must do the same in transportation hubs, including airports, train stations, and bus terminals.

Transportation companies and personnel were instructed to deny service to maskless passengers and to otherwise enforce the new rules.

The CDC said that surgical masks and N95 respirators fulfill the requirements of the order. Homemade masks are permitted too, as long as they completely cover the nose and mouth, and are “a solid piece of material without slits, exhalation valves, or punctures.”

Masks should have ear loops or elastic bands, and should “fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face,” the CDC added.

This makes the new rules less stringent than, for example, those in Austria, which recently instructed citizens to only wear higher-grade FFP2 respirators on public transportation and in supermarkets. In Germany, the orders are strict as well, with only higher-grade surgical masks and N95 and FFP2 respirators allowed.

‘Hang on, wait for others’: WHO urges UK to help foreign states with Covid-19 vaccine before continuing immunisation at home

World Health Organization (WHO) spokesperson Margaret Harris has said that it is morally and economically right to help with immunisation worldwide rather than “rushing” to vaccinate everyone in one country.

“There have been a number of very interesting analyses showing that just vaccinating your own country and then sitting there and saying ‘we’re fine’ will not work economically,” Harris told BBC Breakfast on Saturday.

“We’re so connected and unless we get all societies working effectively once again, every society will be financially affected,” she said.

Harris was asked whether the UK should focus on helping other countries instead of continuing its own immunisation, once all priority groups have been vaccinated. The WHO official replied: “We’re asking all countries in those circumstances to do that – ‘hang on, wait for those other groups.’”

“Rather than rushing to vaccinate one country, we need to be doing the lot and we need to be doing it together,” she said.

We’re asking countries, once you’ve got those groups, please ensure that the supply you’ve got access to is provided for others. While that is morally clearly the right thing to do, it’s also economically the right thing to do.

Britain kicked off its immunisation programme at the beginning of last month, with the goal to vaccinate 15 million people from vulnerable groups and frontline workers by February 15.

On January 19, the government said that over four million had received their first dose of the vaccine.

The WHO, meanwhile, has been urging all countries and vaccine-makers to ensure “fair and equitable” distribution all over the world, especially among the poorer nations.

Massachusetts Rep. Stephen Lynch gets COVID-19 after second vaccine shot

A Massachusetts congressman who received both doses of the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine tested positive for the virus on Friday.

Democratic Rep. Stephen Lynch tested negative before attending President Joe Biden’s inauguration on Jan. 20. He was tested again after a staff member in his Boston office got the virus earlier this week.

Pfizer said it can take seven days for protection from the second dose to kick in, NBC 10 Boston reported. Lynch’s office said he got the second dose vaccine before the inauguration on Jan. 20, nine days before his positive test.

The Pfizer vaccine has been judged 95 percent effective against the virus, though it has not been tested against the mutations that came from the UK and South Africa.

In the statement, his office said Lynch doesn’t have any symptoms of COVID-19. He will self-quarantine and vote by proxy in Congress in the coming week.

Lynch was the second Congressional Democrat from Massachusetts to test positive in as many days. Rep. Lori Trahan said Thursday she had tested positive after repeatedly testing negative.

Schumer Says Biden Should Declare ‘Climate Emergency’, Rule Like A Dictator

Now that Democrats are in one-party control, fairness, equity, diversity of thought, and rules don’t matter any more

For all the talk of bi-partisanship and respecting the rights of the minority party, US Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), now that he holds the reins of power, has no problem with Democrats ruling, as Joe Biden once described, like a dictator.

Schumer, during an interview with the cable news opinion outlet MSNBC, declared that not only would Democrats use reconciliation to pass major Biden agenda items, but that the President should declare a national “climate emergency” as a way to bypass Congress to implement main elements of his radical climate agenda.

The Majority Leader made no qualms about his intention to move Biden’s $1.9 trillion COVID stimulus bill through reconciliation rather than to debate the measure on its merits on the Senate floor.

Reconciliation can be employed in affecting certain types of legislation that impact the federal budget. The tactic requires only a simple majority for final passage instead of the super majority needed for revenue legislation.

Regarding Biden’s extreme and radical climate agenda – an agenda that mirrors the position of the World Economic Forum’s Great Reset initiative, Schumer said, “I think it might be a good idea for President Biden to call a climate emergency…Then he can do many, many things under the emergency powers of the president that wouldn’t have to go through – that he could do without legislation.

Schumer exampled President Trump’s emergency declaration along the southern border of the United States where tens of thousands of illegal immigrants risked their lives – many losing them – in the false promise of nirvana in the America.

The New York Liberal called President’s effort to secure the border “stupid” saying it, “wasn’t an emergency.”

“But if there ever was an emergency, climate is one,” Schumer showboated. “So I would suggest that they explore looking at climate as an emergency which would give them more flexibility. After all, it’s a crisis.”

In speaking of the filibuster – a subject that has been front and center in “power sharing” negotiations between Schumer and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), Schumer intimated that the filibuster will remain as long as Republicans acquiesce to the Progressive agenda.

“The caucus is united with a belief that I have: We must get big, strong, bold things done,” Schumer said. “We will not let Mitch McConnell dictate to us what we will do and not do. Period. And these first five days have shown that. And as I said, my caucus is totally united, from one end to the other, that we’re not letting him go forward.”

The American people chose to retire four Republican Senators and elect a Democratic majority to this Senate.

A new COVID-19 study concludes there is a “99.8% probability SARS-CoV-2 came from a laboratory.”

The 193-page paper published January 29th is titled “A Bayesian analysis concludes beyond a reasonable doubt that SARS-CoV-2 is not a natural zoonosis but instead is laboratory derived.”

“The purpose of the analysis was to determine the origin of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. Beginning with a likelihood of 98.2% that it was a zoonotic jump from nature with only a 1.2% probability it was a laboratory escape, twenty-six different, independent facts and evidence were examined systematically. The final conclusion is that it is a 99.8% probability SARS-CoV-2 came from a laboratory and only a 0.2% likelihood it came from nature,” a summary notes.

The author, Dr. Steven Quay, has 360+ published medical studies and has been cited over 10,000 times, placing him in the top one percent of scientists worldwide.

What’s more, he holds nearly 90 US patents and has invented seven FDA-approved pharmaceuticals.

“By taking only publicly available, scientific evidence about SARS-CoV-2 and using highly conservative estimates in my analysis, I nonetheless conclude that it is beyond a reasonable doubt that SARS-CoV-2 escaped from a laboratory. The additional evidence of what appears to be adenovirus vaccine genetic sequences in specimens from five patients from December 2019 and sequenced by the Wuhan Institute of Virology requires an explanation. You would see this kind of data in a vaccine challenge trial, for example. Hopefully the WHO team can get answers to these questions,” he adds.

AP: Venezuela Hired Democratic Party Donor for $6 Million

Newly filed lobbying records show Venezuela’s socialist government previously hired a longtime Democratic Party donor for $6 million at the same time it was lobbying to discourage the U.S. from imposing sanctions on the oil-rich nation.

The documents, which were disclosed Thursday, show a U.S. subsidiary of Venezuela’s state oil giant PDVSA agreed to hire Marcia Wiss’ Washington law firm in March 2017. That’s the same month it signed a consulting deal for $50 million with scandal-tainted former Congressman David Rivera.

Wiss, an international trade lawyer with a history of donations to the Democratic Party, including a $1,500 contribution to Joe Biden last year, denies she did any lobbying work.

Her former client — now under new management — said it was unaware of the full extent of her work to determine if it constituted political activities benefitting Nicolás Maduro’s government. The PDVSA subsidiary also took the unusual step of registering retroactively as a foreign agent, disclosing the contracts with Rivera, Wiss and a third vendor.

The contracts have come to light as allies of opposition leader Juan Guaidó work with the Justice Department to uncover any corrupt dealings at another wholly owned PDVSA subsidiary, Houston-based Citgo, which for years operated as a cash cow for Venezuela’s ruling party. A Guaidó-appointed board wrested control of Citgo, the sixth-largest independent U.S. refiner, after the Trump administration recognized him as Venezuela’s rightful leader in 2019.

The same Guaidó-appointed officials behind the new foreign lobby filings last year sued Rivera for allegedly breaking his consulting contract. Federal prosecutors in Miami are also investigating whether the Republican broke foreign lobbying rules.

At the time both Wiss and Rivera were retained, Maduro was trying to curry favor with the Trump administration, avoiding outright criticism of the new U.S. president while funneling $500,000 to his inaugural committee through Citgo.

The contracts with Rivera and Wiss were part of an effort to discourage the then-new Trump administration and other governments from imposing sanctions on Venezuela, according to three people familiar with the deals who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the politically sensitive matter. Payments came from a little-known, Delaware-registered subsidiary, PDV USA, which provided shareholder services to PDVSA independent of Citgo’s oil operations.

The three people said the holding company was regularly used by Maduro’s government for political activities in the U.S.

FNC’s Carlson: ‘This Is the Most Sweeping and Audacious Assault on Civil Liberties in American History’

Friday on Fox News Channel’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” host Tucker Carlson warned about the tactics employed by Democrats and their allies to suppress dissent and so-called divisive rhetoric of their political opponents.

Carlson said such treatment with the intention of accumulating power could ultimately result in more radicalism.

CARLSON: Happy Friday. What a week. A lot going on in this country right now, but maybe the single biggest mystery when you take three steps back is why Democrats became so vicious after they won.

So, Joe Biden got the White House, his party took the Congress, you’d think they’d be thrilled. That’s what they wanted. You think they’d be celebrating? But no. Instead they started a purge.

Within hours, Democrats began crushing even the mildest dissent. They shut down an entire social media company called Parler, not because Parler had done anything wrong, but simply because they couldn’t control it. They couldn’t take the chance that somebody on Parler might criticize them, so they eliminated it.

Then two days ago, they arrested a man and threw him in handcuffs brought him up on federal charges because he made fun of Hillary Clinton on Twitter, that man is now facing 10 years in prison.

Democrats then declared war on their rival political party, not by the way, a metaphorical war, but an actual one: soldiers and paramilitary law enforcement and the world’s most powerful intelligence agencies. They denounced Republicans even the fairly moderate establishment figures who pose really no conceivable threat to anyone.

They denounce them as dangerous terrorists, they linked them to ISIS and al Qaeda, and anyone who complained about this or fought back in any way, was threatened with expulsion from Congress.

In other words, it doesn’t matter what voters decided in November, in the name of democracy, you can no longer serve in the Congress. That’s what they said. Nor are dissidents permitted in the Federal bureaucracy. No one who disagrees with our beliefs, Democrats have announced can work in the U.S. government.

We’re not overstating it; that all actually happened, and you saw it. Nothing like that has ever taken place in this country before. This is the most sweeping and audacious assault on civil liberties in American history.

So, the question is, what accounts for this? Why are they doing it? It’s worth figuring that out.

On the most basic level, of course, it’s a power grab. We said that from the first day and it remains true. The Democratic Party doesn’t exist to serve some abstract principle, liberty and justice or the Bill of Rights. No. Nor is its primary goal improving the lives of its voters. If you’ve been to Detroit, you know that’s true.

No, the Democratic Party exists to accumulate power, all of it. Some is never enough. The impulse is to control everything. So that’s what they’re trying to do now amidst the chaos and tumult.

This is a ridiculous level of censorship. I didn’t see the videos, but my guess is that they are discussing the use of HCQ, which was used in early COVID treatment. Hell, the despicable governor of New York even said it worked.

Yet Google and our other big tech overlords have decided that we can’t talk about HCQ and how well it works at getting rid of the virus for people. There were COUNTLESS stories about it working, but because President Trump was pushing it, the media hated it and are trying to rid it from existence as a COVID treatment.

We are at a very dangerous place in our country. As I’ve said before we aren’t just at a tipping point, we are beyond that now. We are in the age of information oppression and censorship. Twitter suspends Christian magazine for saying Biden’s trans nominee is a man, not a woman

Twitter has suspended a Christian magazine's account for reporting that one of President Joe Biden's nominees is a man who believes he's a woman.

The Daily Citizen, a publication of the Colorado Springs-based Focus on the Family, tweeted on Jan. 19 that Biden's nominee for assistant secretary of health, Rachel Levine, "is a transgender woman, that is, a man who believes he is a woman," along with a link to an article about the nomination.

As a result, the social media giant locked the magazine out of its account, informing the publication that the tweet violated Twitter's user rules forbidding "hateful conduct."

The Daily Citizen appealed the suspension but was informed that its account will remain locked until it deletes the tweet.

Twitter wrote in a subsequent email to the magazine: “Hi The Daily Citizen, your account, @FocusCitizen has been locked for violating the Twitter Rules. Specifically for: Violating our rules against hateful conduct. You may not promote violence against, threaten, or harass other people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability, or serious disease.”

“Please note that repeated violations may lead to a permanent suspension of your account,” the email said. “Proceed to Twitter now to fix the issue with your account.”

The Daily Citizen said in its reply to Twitter that numerous media outlets have reported on the nomination and wrote in their articles that Levine was born male and remains a man who believes he is female. Levine has undergone elective cosmetic surgery and taken cross-sex hormones in an attempt to look more like a woman physically.

The magazine has insisted that it never promoted violence and rejected Twitter's claims that it violated its rules.

"As a Christian organization, we would never do so. We simply explained to our readers the appointment and defined what transgender women are — those born male who believe they are a woman, regardless of whether they have had opposite-sex hormones or surgeries."

“We believe Twitter’s blocking of this tweet and lockdown of our account discriminates against Focus on the Family’s The Daily Citizen on the basis of our religious affiliation."

Twitter has persisted in its insistence that the publication violated its user rules and rejected the publication's appeal. The platform said the ban would not be overturned.

Big tech's censorship of voices who state biological facts in the context of transgender issues and policies has not been limited to religious or philosophically conservative accounts on the platform.

In November 2018, Twitter updated its policies to prohibit users from tweeting the birth names of trans-identifying people — which transgender activists refer to as "dead-naming" — or from using biologically accurate pronouns when tweeting about trans-identifying people.

Transgender advocates call the use of "he" to describe a male who identifies as female "misgendering." Both dead-naming and misgendering are akin to "abuse" and "violence," according to trans-activists.

For example, Twitter permanently booted radical feminist journalist Meghan Murphy from the platform after she tweeted that "men aren't women." Twitter took this action days before it instituted its trans-activist policy.

Murphy wrote in an editorial at the time that "while Twitter knowingly permits graphic pornography and death threats on the platform (I have reported countless violent threats, the vast majority of which have gone unaddressed), they won’t allow me to state very basic facts, such as ‘men aren’t women.'"

“This is hardly an abhorrent thing to say, nor should it be considered ‘hateful’ to ask questions about the notion that people can change sex, or ask for explanations about transgender ideology,” she said.

Twitter rolls out Stasi-like “snitch” feature that mirrors what tyrannical bootlickers want for all of society: SECRET POLICE everywhere

People who still use Twitter and believe that elections should be fair and free; that vaccines are unsafe and ineffective; and that the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) “pandemic” has been blown way out of proportion will now have to face a new “feature” known as “Birdwatch” that allows leftists to flag content deemed as “misinformation.”

The Wikipedia-like program is being branded as “a new community-driven approach to help address misleading information.” Bootlickers who believe everything the government and Democrats tell them are being encouraged to use Birdwatch to challenge “misinformation and disinformation” in an open-source format.

“The new system allows users to discuss and provide context to tweets they believe are misleading or false,” NBC News reports. “The project, titled Birdwatch, is a standalone section of Twitter that will at first only be available to a small set of users, largely on a first-come, first-served basis.”

Chances are, this “small set of users” will be made up entirely of far-leftists who believe that the government cares about them; that the mainstream media always tells the truth; that Orange Man Bad; and that getting injected with messenger RNA (mRNA) biotechnology is always a good thing.

“We know there are a number of challenges toward building a community-driven system like this – from making it resistant to manipulation attempts to ensuring it isn’t dominated by a simple majority or biased [sic] based on its distribution of contributors,” reads an official announcement from Twitter.

“We’ll be focused on these things throughout the pilot.”

Anyone familiar with how Wikipedia already functions will hardly be reassured by this corporate promise from Twitter, which has demonstrated beyond a shadow of a doubt that it caters strictly to the left.

Despite claims that it wants to “broaden the range of voices” on its platform, Twitter has proven time and time again that conservatives have no place there, and almost anything they say or do will be targeted as a violation of “community standards.”

Eventually, any tweet that a majority of Twitter users deem in consensus to be “false” will be tagged as such, even if it is undeniably true. Whatever the Twitter mob believes to be false or true, regardless of the facts, will be labeled accordingly in the near future.

After conducting “more than 100 qualitative interviews with individuals across the political spectrum who use Twitter,” Jack Dorsey’s baby determined that there is “broad general support” for a program like Birdwatch that allows far-leftists to infiltrate content and determine whether or not it is “true.”

“We know this might be messy and have problems at times, but we believe this is a model worth trying,” the company reassured the public in a blog post. “We invite you to learn alongside as we continue to explore different ways of addressing a common problem.”

If President Donald Trump was still allowed to be on Twitter, you can be sure every single one of his tweets would be targeted by the Twitter mob for a “Birdwatch” analysis, and all of them would be deemed “false.”

The Putin-Biden Strategic Telephone Call: How Long Before Washington’s Demonization of Russia, China, and Iran Leads to War?

Biden, the current occupant of the White House, and President Putin of Russia have had their first telephone meeting. President Putin stressed that it is in the interest of the US, Russia, and the entire world for the tense relationship between Washington and the Kremlin to be normalized. Biden apparently, was noncommittal on this overriding issue and although indicating agreement to renew the 1991 treaty to limit and reduct strategic offensive arms, Biden mainly raised American propaganda issues with Russia.

Considering Washington’s record since the Clinton regime of simply abandoning out of hand previous agreements with Russia, renewing the START Treaty might not mean much. The important issue is the normalization of relations between the nuclear superpowers. As Russia can wipe the US off of the face of Earth, Washington needs to be careful what impression it creates in the Kremlin.

Vladimir Putin is correct that a normalization of relations between the US and Russia is in the interests of both countries and that of the entire world. The tensions that the American neoconservatives have created between the nuclear superpowers is not only a barrier to business and scientific cooperation but also a threat to the world because of the risk of war.

However, Russia is fooling herself if she thinks Washington has any real interest in normal relations. The Kremiln needs to keep in mind that normalizing relations was President Trump’s goal. It was this goal that caused the US military/security complex to orchestrate the Russiagate hoax in order to prevent any such normalization and to remove Trump by stealing his re-election. By investigating Trump for three years as a Russian agent, Trump was unable to normalize relations without confirming the propaganda that he was acting in Russia’s interest. The Kremlin needs to understand that the US military/security complex requires Russia as an enemy in order to justify its budget and power. Therefore, there can be no normalization.

It is pointless to talk about something that cannot happen. President Putin needs to realize that to pursue normalization with Washington would make him appear naive and gullible to Washington. Consider the issues Biden raised with President Putin in their first telephone conversation.

Judge orders Trump Organization's tax firm to hand over some documents that they deemed 'privileged' to NY attorney general

A New York State judge has ordered a tax firm that worked for the Trump Organization to hand over documents to New York Attorney General Letitia James related to her ongoing investigation into the business - even though the company had tried to keep them 'privileged'.

The Friday supplemental order from Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Arthur Engoron is one of the first to come since Trump's time as president officially came to a close, ending some of the legal protections he had.

In the court order, Engoron said he reviewed the documents from the firm Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP ('Morgan Lewis') and determined that there were some that needed to be sent to James's office.

The attorney general's office had subpoenaed Trump and his son Eric Trump, along with the organization.

'The Court finds that many of the communications Morgan Lewis marked as privileged were communications addressing business tasks and decisions, not exchanges soliciting or rendering legal advice,' the judge wrote in his order to the firm.

Penney or near a Costco. In other words, it caters to ordinary Americans, the ones who fall economically in the middle- or blue-collar classes. If you’re not familiar with the term “influencer,” I’m sorry to say that you’re showing your age. An influencer is someone who has a social media following – usually through videos – that is so powerful that he or she can influence people’s buying habits. Influencers can become very wealthy because corporations pay these influencers to promote products to the influencers’ millions of fans.

Amanda Ensing is a beauty influencer. Through her Twitter feed and YouTube channel, she dispenses fashion and beauty advice to her followers (almost 86,000 on Twitter and 1.4 million on YouTube). If you go to the page with her Cozy Christmas House Tour 2020, you’ll see that she has links to help people buy everything shown in her video – and Ensing gets a cut of every purchase. To which I say, good for her! Find a need, fill it, and make a living.

One of the product lines Ensing represented was Sephora and she recently did a sponsored video for the discount beauty product line. However, when one leftist wrote to Sephora complaining that Ensing is “a supporter of the dangerous MAGA group,” it dumped her like a hot potato:

Watkins said it´s important for senators to hear the voice of someone who was incited by Trump.

Watkins said his client was previously 'horrendously smitten' by Trump but now feels let down after Trump's refusal to grant Chansley and others who participated in the insurrection a pardon.

Gavin Newsom's school reopening plan looks pretty dead

It is growing increasingly unlikely that California's state legislature approves Gov. Gavin Newsom's plan to reopen the state's schools for in-person learning anytime soon.

Under the proposal, school districts will receive additional funding if they agree to a firm timetable for reopening schools beginning in mid-February. The proposal was submitted to the state legislature as an adjustment of the state budget and offers additional funding for schools, up to $450 to $750 per student, if they commit to reopening.

However, in committee hearings last week, the state's lawmakers winced at the Feb. 1 deadline for school districts to apply.

“Why is the administration holding to these days when all I am hearing from is districts that they will not be applying?” said Senate Education Committee Chairwoman Sen. Connie Leyva, D-Chino, according to EdSource.

Districts across the state have said they will not apply to be part of the program, with some citing concerns over testing costs, while others say teachers unions are refusing to return without robust vaccination plans.

“Maybe the governor’s office can come back and tell me that I’m wrong, but it doesn’t sound like the pieces are together yet and that’s concerning to me,” Sen. Richard Pan, D-Sacramento, said during the hearings.

With the legislature appearing stuck and teachers unions doubling down on their vaccination stances, Newsom expressed frustration. A new Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report from earlier this week states that in-person education can be safe so long as safety protocols such as masks and distancing are implemented.

"If everybody has to be vaccinated, we might as well just tell people the truth: There will be no in-person instruction in the state of California," Newsom said during a virtual conversation with the Association of California School Administrators that Politico reports was originally on YouTube but later taken down for unknown reasons. "Just tell them the truth. Don't mislead people. If vaccinations is the absolute, then maybe we should be having a different conversation with the people of the state of California and parents."

He added: “You find whatever you look for. If we want to find reasons not to open, we’ll find plenty of reasons."

Parents across the state have formed a new activist group called "Open Schools California" that hopes to pressure Newsom to fight harder for in-person learning. Organizers told KQED that Newsom lacks the political will to reopen schools.

“We are seeing governors across the country begin to take decisive action to reopen their schools,” said Megan Bacigalupi, an organizer who has two children attending Oakland’s Crocker Highlands Elementary School. “And the pressure to do so came in part from parents advocating for it.”

Inquiry begins after discovery of election gear

Pulaski County election equipment was found at a polling location 2½ months after Election Day, according to county election commissioners.

In response, Pulaski County election officials will tally the inventory of the election materials.

The equipment finding comes after infighting between the election commission staff and the commissioners over several ballots that were allegedly mishandled during the November election.

During Friday’s Pulaski County Election Commission meeting, commissioners discussed investigating how the equipment was left and who had access to the equipment.

Republican Commissioner Kristi Stahr said she was contacted by a poll worker who saw the materials at the The Vines Center on 1 Four-H Way.

Assistant Director of Elections Shawn Camp said an election commission staff member recovered the items finding a DS200 ballot scanner, two ExpressPoll Pollbooks, cleaning supplies, several privacy shields and some “vote here” signs.

The equipment was stored in a locked room at the center and appeared to be properly packed by poll workers in November, according to Camp.

When asked by Stahr if he was sure there were no provisional ballots in the materials, Camp said they have not opened them, but it would be unusual for there to be any ballots there.

“We will be opening that and inspecting that when we have two staff members present, and we will be able to know more information about what’s inside,” Camp said. “There’s no reason to believe there is anything. It would very unusual for provisionals to be stuck in any of those containers that I’m looking at right now.”

When asked by Democrat Commissioner Joshua Price about theories of why the equipment was left, Camp said an investigation was underway.

“We want to look at every part of the process from the poll workers to the facility to the area managers, the delivery pickup crews,” Camp said. “We’ll look at Bart’s inventory procedures.”

Stahr raised some concern that, if the poll worker was able to get into the room, other people may have been around election material.

According to Camp, even if others were able to get into that room, without the election programming, they could do little harm with them.

“These are just big machines that cannot do anything because they have no programming,” Camp said.

This week’s snafu is the latest in the conflict between county election staff and the Pulaski County Election Commission. During the November election, Camp filed a police report claiming the outgoing chair of the commission, Evelyn Gomez, pushed him.

The commission in January voted to decertify Director Bryan Poe and disallow Camp from handling ballots.

The Pulaski County Quorum Court narrowly voted down a resolution Tuesday that would have praised the election staff and condemned the two Republican commissioners.

West Virginia newspaper publisher sues Google, Facebook

A West Virginia news publisher has filed an antitrust suit against Google and Facebook, who together receive roughly half of all digital ad dollars in the U.S. and are facing antitrust charges from federal and state authorities.

The company, HD Media, owns several papers in the state, including the Herald-Dispatch in Huntington and the Charleston Gazette-Mail.

HD Media claims Google has so monopolized the online ad market that “it threatens the extinction of local newspapers across the country.” The suit also alleges that Google and Facebook conspired to further their dominance with a secret agreement, referring to a suit filed by 10 Republican attorneys general in December.

The company does not specify the impact on its business of the behavior of Facebook and Google beyond saying that it has hurt its ability to “effectively monetize its content” because Google is enabled to take an uncompetitive share of the news publisher’s ad revenues. A lawyer for the company declined to speak on the record.

It’s the first antitrust lawsuit against a tech platform focused on news publishing, said David Chavern, head of the news trade group News Media Alliance. He said the group was not involved in the suit.

HD Media filed in federal court in West Virginia and asked for a jury trial. It asked for unspecified damages and that the court stop Google and Facebook from the uncompetitive conduct it is alleging.

The newspaper industry has been on a long decline, with steep job losses and publications getting thinner and even disappearing. Online ad revenues have been unable to offset print-ad losses.

Federal and state antitrust authorities have sued both Google and Facebook in recent months. The Justice Department alleges that Google abuses its dominance in online search and advertising.

Facebook didn’t immediately reply to a request for comment. Google referred a reporter to a blog post published in mid-January by its director of economic policy, Adam Cohen, that defends Google’s business against antitrust charges brought by the Texas attorney general in December.

When Susan Rice talked about the difference between equality and equity, she was talking about the Black population. In the last 50 years Black Equality meant new laws against any type of discrimination with regard to housing and jobs.

Minorities were given help in 1961 by President Kennedy through programs like “Affirmative Action”, cities lowered the standards on testing to join Police and fire departments or Civil Service exams, they ensured no redlining or discriminating when it came to renting or buying a home, They gave black students free or subsidized college tuition, gave businesses big incentives to hire Black applicants over White applicants, and when they didn’t hire enough Black applicants the government pressured businesses to hire Black employees through mandated quotas and gave Black and other minority businesses advantages not extended to White-owned businesses.

There are laws in place right now that make discriminatory practices illegal but that isn’t what Rice was talking about.

Equity means if Blacks are given all of the tools to succeed that White people enjoy and still can’t get ahead, they will force taxpayers to give it to them anyway.

Susan Rice explained how waiting around for equality will take too long so they have to take action. She has been tasked with “assessing whether underserved communities and their members face systemic barriers in accessing benefits and opportunities that are available” and claims that economists have said $16 trillion has been lost to racial inequality.

That’s a bold claim that will come with a trillion-dollar price tag, a price that will likely accompany most of Biden’s executive orders.

Since we have laws currently in place that will ensure equality, this order sounds more like an entitlement, but at what cost? Does this order include a back door to force taxpayers to fund reparations? It should also be noted that the cities with the worst crime rates and school systems are in Democrat-run cities.

Biden also just reversed a Trump executive order that had lowered the prices of a number of drugs for lower-income families including Insulin and Epipen. I’ve heard no explanation for why this was done, why are the cowards in the media not asking him?

Illegal aliens have been on Joe’s agenda since he first ran for office, so much so that he has banned the term “illegal alien”. When you hear Biden speak you have to remember that he is a globalist who will employ the Cloward-Piven plan to flood the US system with illegals and bankrupt the system.

Biden has pledged to open the borders and give amnesty to what most believe is 25 million illegals, and he has stopped all deportations including criminals. Without borders, we would lose our sovereignty which makes America and American citizenship special.

US Navy berates ‘destabilizing’ Chinese activity as pro-NATO Atlantic Council publishes blueprint for Cold War with Beijing

The US accused China of ramping up tensions in the South China Sea amid new drills. The statement came shortly after a notorious pro-NATO lobby group published an anonymously-authored proposal for long-term conflict with Beijing.

PACOM (United States Indo-Pacific Command) announced on Friday evening that the Chinese military flights over the past week “at no time” posed any threat to US Navy ships, sailors, or aircraft, according to a statement cited by Reuters.

An official speaking on condition of anonymity said the Chinese warplanes never came within 250 nautical miles (463 km) of the USS Theodore Roosevelt carrier strike group, currently deployed in the South China Sea.

It was unclear whether the statement was referring to last weekend’s flights of the People’s Liberation Army Air Force near the island of Taiwan – which China claims as its own territory, but has been ruled by the defeated nationalists who fled the mainland in 1949 – or whatever activity may have taken place between the Gulf of Tonkin and Leizhou Peninsula, where China said it would hold unspecified military exercises at some point between Wednesday and Saturday.

While PACOM described Chinese military activity as part of a “pattern of aggressive and destabilizing behavior” – according to Reuters – Beijing earlier this week said the presence of US ships in the South China Sea was “not conducive to peace and stability in the region.” All in all, typical jargon of diplomatic sparring between the two powers.

On Thursday, however, one of the foremost US policy think tanks published a lengthy paper – unusually keeping the identity of its author a secret – that advocated a Cold War 2.0 approach to China by the US, with the ultimate goal of preserving Washington’s global hegemony and “regime change” in Beijing.

The paper is basically a rehash of George Kennan’s 1946 Long Telegram, which outlined the strategy of “containment” of the Soviet Union the US would adopt in what would become the original Cold War the very next year.

This ‘Longer Telegram’ urges the US to do the same in regard to China so that by 2050, the US and its allies “continue to dominate the regional and global balance of power” while preventing China from taking over Taiwan or “any other form of military action to achieve its regional objectives.” It also hopes to see President Xi Jinping “replaced by a more moderate party leadership” and have the Chinese people “question and challenge the Communist Party’s century-long proposition that China’s ancient civilization is forever destined to an authoritarian future.”

The document is an escalation in both tone and intent over the hardline statements by several high-ranking Trump administration officials – from Attorney General Bill Barr to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo – over the past year. The recently sworn-in Biden administration has quickly declared its “rock-solid” commitment to Taiwan, while Biden has previously said he aims to “restore” US leadership of “democracies” in the world against “authoritarianism.”
