Mad Maxine Waters is in the news again. This time itâs not what she said but what she did. The loud mouth representative is in the news for dishing out additional money to her daughter from campaign donations.
The Washington Free Beacon reports:
Rep. Maxine Waters (D., Calif.) has now dished out more than $1 million in campaign payments to her daughter following the 2020 elections.
Karen Waters has pocketed $1.13 million for providing an array of services for her motherâs campaign since 2003. The majority of the cash is for her role in running a controversial slate-mailer operation, in which California politicians gave money to Watersâs campaign in exchange for mailers bearing her endorsement.
The mailers have become increasingly lucrative for the younger Waters over the years. During the 2020 cycle, her payments hit a high of $240,000. Thatâs significantly more than the $90,000 her firm, Progressive Connections, took in during the 2006 election cycle. The Federal Election Commission gave Waters the green light for the mailer operation in 2004.
While slate mailers are commonplace in states like California and Oregon, the practice is extremely rare at the federal level. In fact, Waters appears to be the only federal politician to use a slate-mailer operation. As such, the arrangement between her and her daughter has led to complaints from watchdog groups asking the FEC to audit the campaign.
Waters is not only corrupt in what she does, she also is known for having a very loud mouth. Democrats hate it when what Waters says is compared to what they try to pin on Republicans:

Los Angeles â the West Coastâs base of operations for Progressives and Liberals, has an exploding problem with its homeless population and an immigration policy that has them on the hook for expenditures related to non-citizens.
Additionally, the city has perennial issues with underfunded pension plans, in 2007 Los Angeles had to borrow $10 billion from the federal government to cover its pension obligations.

The finance data, calculated by OpenTheBooks â a non-profit watchdog that provides private sector oversight of local, state, and federal government spending, also shows that Los Angelesâ 15 city councilors each make more than $200,000 annually, a salary exceeding most members of the US Congress.

San Francisco Committee Changed School Names Based on Wikipedia and Wild Accusations
The San Francisco Board of Education voted to rename 44 of the cityâs schools, claiming that prominent figures from American history, such as George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Paul Revere, were tied to racist incidents. The committee based their decisions on Wikipedia and other wildly inaccurate information to source its claims.
Committee chairman Jeremiah Jeffries, along with his fellow committee members, used Wikipedia to support their claims that prominent U.S. historical figures had ties to racist incidents, and therefore warranted the renaming of scores of San Francisco schools, according to a report by Mission Local.
A Google Doc showcasing the committeeâs notes attempting to justify their reasons for voting to rename the schools revealed some of the bizarre details behind their decision-making process.
The committee, for example, voted to rename Lowell High School â named after American poet James Russell Lowell according to Mission Local â despite the fact that Lowell was an abolitionist, because committee member noted that according to Wikipedia, âhe did not want black people to vote.â
âLowell was an abolitionist, but his opinions wavered concerning African-Americans,â states the note regarding Lowell High School. âHe advocated suffrage for blacks, yet he noted that their ability to vote could be troublesome.â
According to a scholarly biography of the high schoolâs namesake, however, Lowell âunequivocally advocated giving the ballot to the recently freed slaves,â notes Mission Local. Other commenters claim the school might not have been named after the poet at all, but rather after the town of Lowell, Massachusetts. The committee changed its name regardless.
