if you sell you would be taking your profit in fiat dollars

pay off your fiat bills?

if they break silver it might break the banks

or they will have to inject even more "printed" money to bail them out

in the open or behind the scenes

with the huge inflation of the money supply already that might lead to price inflation or even hyperinflation

then you would want to have actual silver in your possesion–not "paper" silver

in that case you would not want to sell your actual silver now but pay off your bills in inflated fiat dollars later

agree with other poster to sell enough on the uptick to cover your cost and hold the rest until the future is more clear

the time to buy silver was a year ago if you wanted silver for a store of value

now is either chasing the herd OR last chance to get any in hand

maybe silver will be the new "ammo" –get it now or maybe never see any later

unsure times

personally i would make sure i had food first

if you are just buying to break the banks then the fact you are buying silver is not relevant as it could be rutabaga's or whatever would break them

buckle up no matter what though because old joe has promised in every speech

"hard times a'comin"

newer coins will never covert to the same value as 90% silver ones

or the silver ones would not have dissapeared during the "good times"

bad money drives out good

they might still have a higher value than paper in a kind of two or three tiered system

if you have $1000 in change and the value goes to zero–then that will be the least of our problems

my thoughts=won't hurt but the money value might be invested in something more useful

"gonna need some sauce on that"

no coin that has been debased has ever traded equal to the original

greshams law has been around a few centuries

i did say that the coins in circulation now might be worth more than paper money or whatever coin comes next

to be clear to people new to this , no current US coin made for circulation now has any silver in it

US dimes, quarters, halves and silver dollars made in 1964 or before were 90% silver

1965 through 1969 halves only were 40% silver

the only coins minted after 1969 with silver in them have been in collector type sets

the 1965 through 1969 half dollars still contained 40% silver

down from 90% in 1964 and before

nickels are still one forth nickel and three forths copper–no zinc in the nickel

a nickel still has about 5 cents worth of metal in it

yes pennies since 1982 are junk zinc

and yes all the dollar coins are worth about as much as a give away game token

one year my stepmother gave us all $20 of new crisp $2 bills she had bought

some company bought them and put a glue strip on the side

you go into a store and peal one off for a candy bar or something and give it to the kid running the register

got to see the manager every time

wish i could find some more
