I have a collection and also know the 43 copper penny was the war penny where they stopped using copper but they had a certain amount of copper left in the machine. They went ahead and stamped the rest of the copper out and was sent to the mint. They are not official coin but considered error coins the official one is the zinc. They are worth a little but the copper ones have been auctioned at a million. Don't matter what shape it's in either
