Ah, this low-IQ nonsense, again.

Collaborative work and hiveminds are two distinct things. We were created as individuals for a reason. The idea that there can be such an enduring thing as a collective conscious is insulting to the individual intelligences which rose above the duldrum of survival to pursue a higher understanding.

Rather, I argue the goal is the opposite of a hive mind. It is to learn from the wit and experiences of others and incorporate them into your own view. It is to carry with you the existence of those you have met, contested, and/or supported.

While this method can never replace the individuals' presence and action, completely - it means that where one of us goes, we are all present in the mind and experiences of him or her. It means that person is now stronger and more complete as a sentient being - to be pursuing not just a higher understanding of the working of the world, but of the experiences and concerns of those around them.

"Coming together" is an extremely vague method that generally tends to suppress individual ideas and results in a subversion of ingenuity. A dull hum of meaningless noise. A form of pleasure-seeking for mental orgiastics.

Insects have hive minds. A de-evolution of consciousness.
