hey, stockanons

Still trying to get a better understanding

of what happens END OF DAY on

Settlement Dates.

If stock purchased let's say days ago

is now DOWN by, let's say, $10, TOTAL,

for the 10 stocks purchased,

(purchase price $50, current mkt value $40)

will nothing more than just an OFFICIAL

finalization of purchase happen end of day?

As in, the $50 used to buy the 10 shares

will OFFICIALLY be TAKEN OUT of my

account and I NOW OWN the said 10 shares?

Or, is it more complicated than that, as in,

will I be charged an additional $1 per share

since that's the amount of the DROP in value

per share?

Or will I be charged the TOTAL DROP in

value, the $10, per share, meaning an

ADDITIONAL $100

ON TOP of the initial purchase price of

$50?

What happens with the shares of purchases

that INCREASED in value since initial date

of purchase?

Completely new to this whole stock/trading

thing so, I have absolutely NO CLUE

what I'm doing other than trying to play

the game.

Just really need some help with

understanding terms and what to expect.

Thanks, anons.

Thank you, anon, for your reply.

Here's what my 20 shares of NOK

looked like this morning.

The "P" below the initial purchase price

of $109.90 is the "pending" status you

mentioned and means this is the amount

I'm IN FOR at the end of the day then?

And by SELLING THE 20 SHARES,

I basically STOP ANY additional losses

and ANY POTENTIAL gains, right?

And if I hang-on to the shares that

are GAINING right now, I can just

watch and wait and see how THEIR

RIDE on the market will turn out

next time market opens, right?

Am I understanding this correctly?
