Tucker Carlson opened his show with a story about how Lee Harvey Oswald was an avowed communist and that all the suspicions at the time was based on conservatives and especially Goldwater as being part of the conspiracy.
I was alive at the time. I followed all the stories. I never ever heard about a Goldwater connection. It has always been - and obviously so - connected to the Secret Service and CIA as well as J. Edgar Hoover. This is all based on the facts that the motorcade had to be altered at the last minute which was right in the shooting arena.
The Secret Service commander called back an agent who was riding on JFK's limousine. The agent himself was surprised at this. So we can assume it was someone in the leadership who was involved. Oswald was a CIA agent trying to gather information on communist activities. There was a meeting he attended that supposedly involved GHWBush and other agents. Oswald wasn't aware of what his role really was until he found himself pegged by an agent on the ground. He knew then - he was a patsy.
