As we previously reported, on November 3rd President Trump was ahead of Joe Biden in Michigan by over 100,000 votes. The ballot counting in Detroit on election night took place at the TCF Center, formerly known as Cobo Hall.

This is the site where Detroit City Officials put cardboard over the windows to prevent the GOP observers from seeing in, where poll workers were militantly hostile to the GOP observers, and where hundreds of affidavits by election observers claim they witnessed voter fraud.

At least three election observers testified in sworn affidavits that they witnessed vehicles delivering fraudulent ballots to the TCF Center early in the morning on November 4th.

And until now, no one has bothered to review the video footage from the TCF Center on election night.

How many people were in the TCF Center and is there any validity to the excuse that they were over the “COVID capacity” – the excuse they used to exclude the Republicans from watching vote processing

Why did so many Democrat poll workers bring in suitcases? Did they hide illegal ballots in them like their colleagues in Georgia?

Were the machines networked? Can we see the modem and the wires networking the tabulating machines as described by Patrick Colbeck?

Who brought in what at 3:30/4:00 am, were they ballots as the Republicans have said they witnessed or was it food/camera equipment as the media claimed? Shane Trejo and Jose Aliaga claim these were ballots.

Was there any security keeping people out of the building who did not have credentials to get in?

Were there other unexplained ballot dumps past the 8:00 PM deadline for ballots as several other witnesses have alleged?

Was Nick, the co-owner of Dominion Voting Services, present on-site, as Mellissa Carone has said?

Were GOP Poll Challengers being ejected for making good-faith challenges or were they refusing to wear a mask?

China ready to ‘respond to all threats and provocations at any time’ as US warship crosses Taiwan Strait

Beijing has said it continues to monitor US military maneuvers near the Chinese mainland and Taiwan, warning that China is ready to respond to American threats and provocations.

Speaking on Thursday, Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin told reporters that Beijing had carefully followed the passing of a US warship through the Taiwan Strait earlier that same day.

“China will continue to maintain a high level of alert at all times, ready to respond to all threats and provocations at any time, and resolutely defend national sovereignty and territorial integrity,” Wang stated.

“It is hoped that the United States will play a constructive role for regional peace and stability, not the other way around.”

On Thursday, the guided-missile destroyer USS John S. McCain thundered through the Taiwan Strait, the US Navy’s first trip through the waterway in 2021.

“The ship's transit through the Taiwan Strait demonstrates the US commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific,” Seventh Fleet spokesman Lt. Joe Keiley said, describing the sail “routine” and “in accordance with international law.”

Beijing has repeatedly urged Washington to abide by the ‘one-China’ principle and not take actions that would damage Sino-US relations as well as peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait.

Nevertheless, Taiwan maintains its independence from China and the new Biden administration has reiterated its “rock solid” commitment to the island’s defense.

Beijing has also called on the US to desist from conducting military maneuvers in and around the disputed waters off China.

Just days after President Joe Biden took office, a US carrier group led by the USS Theodore Roosevelt and three warships entered the South China Sea, marking a continuation of moves made during the Trump administration. The US military said the move was to promote “freedom of the seas.”

The Biden administration has been urged by Beijing to engage in greater dialogue to reduce soaring tensions between the superpower nations.

ICC convicts former Ugandan warlord of war crimes and crimes against humanity

The former Commander of the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA), Dominic Ongwen, was convicted of war crimes and crimes against humanity on Thursday, after the International Criminal Court found him guilty of 61 out of 70 crimes.

The presiding judge at the trial, Bertram Schmitt, ruled that Ongwen had ordered the murder and kidnapping of individuals, including children, as well as having committed crimes ranging from murder and rape to torture, slavery and the use of child soldiers.

“There exists no ground excluding Dominic Ongwen’s criminal responsibility”, Schmitt said, adding that “his guilt has been established beyond any reasonable doubt.”

As an individual who was himself forced by rebels to become a child soldier, Ongwen’s trial marks the first time the ICC has convicted an individual who both committed and was the victim of the same war crimes.

After rising up through the ranks, Ongwen became a commander and the deputy to then-LRA leader Joseph Kony, who became well known around the world after an American charity, Invisible Children, launched Kony 2012, a campaign to hold him accountable for his alleged crimes and human rights violations in Uganda.

When the trial began in 2016, Ongwen pleaded not guilty, and has repeatedly denied the charges. He will be sentenced at a later date. Due to the nature of his crimes, he faces life in prison.

Antifa-Insurgence leader John Earl Sullivan was arrested in Utah after the US Capitol riots.

As reported previously Antifa protester John Sullivan was caught on video posing as a Trump supporter during the rioting at the US Capitol on January 6th.

Footage obtained by the Gateway Pundit from militant Black Lives Matter and Antifa activist John Sullivan’s Discord server shows the so-called “civil rights activist” reveling inside the U.S. Capitol on Jan 6 as he damaged federal property.

Sullivan has maintained in multiple interviews that he regularly attends protests only to record what’s going on, but did not actively partake in the insurgence in Washington. This is a lie. He is a leader of the Utah Antifa-BLM movement and has been previously arrested.

“It’s just recording, solely, and not being active in it,” he told Fox News last week.

Sullivan also organized an Antifa-Insurgence rally on January 6th at the Washington Monument at 11 AM before they stormed the US Capitol.

For the last week, a parade of financial analysts, academics, regulators and bankers have warned that the capital markets sickness that sent GME shares to nearly $400 can be blamed on a handful of rogue charlatans hawking an absurd "stick it to the man" narrative on social media (and not the hedge funds trying to short GME into oblivion with naked short positions so large, they amounted to more than 100% of GME's float before the explosion).

With Janet Yellen and the rest of the top financial markets regulators in the country meeting on Thursday, we learned last night via the New York Times, and via an interview with House Financial Services Committee Chairwoman Maxine Waters, that a key player in the Feb. 18 House committee hearing/media circus will be Keith Gill, the former MassMutual employee known alternatively on Reddit and YouTube as "DeepF*ckingValue" and "RoaringKitty".

As we've reported, Gill seemingly minted millions of dollars trading GME and other stocks, at one point displaying a screenshot of a brokerage account balance with almost $50MM in it. While that number appears to have declined substantially in the ensuing selloff, more recent screenshots suggest Gill has amassed quite a substantial fortune from his trading, just like another former scapegoat we can think of.

CNN chief Zucker announces plan to leave at year’s end after ‘change of heart’ decision to see out contract

CNN President Jeff Zucker has confirmed he will stay on at the network’s helm until the end of 2021, when his contract runs out, having u-turned on his decision late last year to leave the mainstream media outlet.

“I cannot imagine not being here right now,” Jeff Zucker told colleagues on Thursday morning, according to those present on the call. “I’m going to stay and finish my current contract, which, as I said, will keep me here until the end of this year. At that point, I do expect to move on.”

The truth is, back in November and December I had basically decided that it was time to move on now… But since then I've had a change of heart. And I want to stay - not forever, but for another year.

Zucker’s decision ends months of industry speculation about his likely departure from the 40-year-old network, which hit its highest ever viewership in November amid the US presidential election. Despite a positive end to 2020, the new year has started badly for the network, with primetime ratings falling by around 44 percent after President Joe Biden took office. Chief MSM rivals MSNBC and Fox experienced much smaller drops in viewing numbers.

The former NBC veteran took over at CNN in 2013, tasked with carving out a stronger identity for the network against liberal MSNBC and conservative Fox. Much of Zucker’s tenure coincided with Donald Trump’s first run for the White House and his years as president.

Under Zucker, CNN took on a more adversarial stance to the president, providing prime time slots to anti-Trump pundit’s during his administration. Trump in turn frequently blasted CNN’s reporting as “fake news.”

AT&T’s recent acquisition of CNN as part of its Time Warner deal reportedly led to tensions among some of the top brass, with Zucker allegedly stripped of some of his responsibilities at the network last year, such as overseeing human resources.

SWIFT Sets Up Joint Venture With China Central Bank Ahead Of Imminent Digital Yuan Launch

It's been a long time coming, and now it's almost here.

Back in August we reported that China's Commerce Ministry had released fresh details of a pilot program for the country's central bank digital currency (CBDC) to be expanded to several metropolitan areas, including Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, and Yangtze River Delta region. This was the inevitable culmination of a process which started back in 2014 when as we reported at the time, "China Readies Digital Currency, IMF Says "Extremely Beneficial""

Fast forward a few months when China's preparations to rollout a digital yuan gathered pace, and we reported in October that China was poised to give legal backing to the launch of its own sovereign digital currency, "cementing its trailblazer status in virtual currencies far ahead of other countries, after already recently experimenting with large-scale trials of actual payments by consumers, which was met with mixed results." Specifically, the South China Morning Post reported that "The People’s Bank of China published a draft law on Friday that would give legal status to the Digital Currency Electronic Payment (DCEP) system, and for the first time the digital yuan has been included and defined as part of the country’s sovereign fiat currency."

The design framework for the digital yuan had been released one year ago on the heels of Facebook's ambitious but disastrous Libra token rollout after founding corporate partners split for lack of confidence in the project and on fears US federal regulators would seek to block it just as they did encrypted-messaging company Telegram's Gram cryptocurrency.

"The draft law would also forbid any party from making or issuing yuan-backed digital tokens to replace the renminbi in the market," the SCMP said.

This in turn brought us to the so-called "Shenzhen case study" when in October of 2020, China was the first nation to hold a trial run of its digital currency, when the government in Shenzhen carried out a lottery to give away a total of 10 million yuan (about $1.5 million) worth of the digital currency (nearly 2 million people applied and 50,000 people actually "won").

The winners were required to download a digital Renminbi app in order to receive a "red packet" worth 200 digital yuan ($30), which they can then spend at over 3,000 designated retailers in Shenzhen’s Luohu district, according to China Daily. After that, they’ll be able to buy goods from local pharmacies, supermarkets and even Walmart.

The idea was to not only test the technology involved, but boost consumer spending in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. In short, China is not only subsidizing the centrally-planned economy by manipulating the supply-side of the question- it now can prop up demand by handing out digital currency to anyone (or everyone).

Of course, unlike traditional central bank account-based currencies such as reserves, or decentralized cryptocurrencies like bitcoin, China’s digital currency would be controlled by the country’s central bank and will be instantly made available at a moment's notice to anyone who can receive it.

Divine intervention or the right connections? Roman Catholic Church received $3 BILLION in US taxpayer-funded Covid-19 aid

More than 200 Catholic dioceses received billions in funding from the Paycheck Protection Program, the taxpayer-backed rescue fund for bailing out businesses dying of Covid-19 shutdowns – reportedly more than any other applicant.

The 200-plus dioceses, and the churches and schools the Catholic Church operates under their names pulled down over $3 billion in taxpayer-funded aid from the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), as part of the US coronavirus bailout of small businesses, according to an Associated Press (AP) investigative report published on Thursday.

The tidy sum puts the Church considerably ahead of its private-sector counterparts in terms of government aid received over the course of the pandemic. Certain the shutdowns would force them to use up the millions of dollars saved away for a rainy day, Roman Catholic dioceses such as that of Charlotte, North Carolina were quick to apply for emergency aid under the PPP. The diocese received a total of over $8 million, despite the tidy nest egg of $100 million in cash and short-term investments it was sitting on.

Indeed, the AP found dozens of Catholic dioceses were lavished with PPP cash, even while holding onto their own emergency assets, which amounted to over $10 billion in total. Financial statements from 112 dioceses whose records the AP was able to access, plus the schools and churches under their control, revealed that those particular dioceses collected over $1.5 billion in taxpayer-backed funding amid the pandemic. Most were found to be financially well-off to the point that they could cover six months or more of operating expenses, even if they received no new income.

Including all American dioceses, the Roman Catholic Church’s PPP haul was more than $3 billion, making the Church “perhaps the biggest beneficiary of the paycheck program,” according to the AP. The information was only revealed after several news organizations sued the Small Business Administration to release public records of how the PPP money had been distributed – something then-Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin was vehemently against.

Pushing back on the notion that they were taking what was not rightfully theirs, they pointed out that the hardest-hit churches’ income fell by as much as 40 percent for several months, forcing them to lay off some staff and cut others’ wages.

GameStop was a warning: Elites are weaponizing censorship to keep the outsiders out

As the apex predators of capitalism, hedge funds are accustomed to raking in billions by driving companies into the ground and feasting on the carcasses. So there was widespread satisfaction last week when members of an online discussion group called WallStreetBets started beating the Wall Street bully boys at their own game. Ringleaders of the group noticed that hedge funds had taken a short position in the videogame retailer GameStop that far exceeded the number of shares available to trade. Motivated as much by revenge as by profit, these influencers in the group encouraged the 2.7 million members (since risen to around 8 million) to purchase the stock in order to drive the price higher and create a massive short squeeze. This quickly became a movement with a cause similar to that of Occupy Wall Street, except much more effective because it hit the intended target where they would feel it the most, in the wallet. “The only way to beat a rigged game,” one WallStreetBets leader said, “is to rig it even harder.”

GameStop stock, which closed at $17.69 a share on Jan. 8, shot up to $347.51 by the close last Wednesday. With combined losses of almost $20 billion, hedge funds were on the ropes and close to bleeding out, selling their longs in an increasingly futile effort to cover their shorts. One fund, Melvin Capital, lost over half its value and had to be bailed out by hedge fund sugar daddies Ken Griffin (Citadel) and Steve Cohen (Point 72). Another fund, Citron, was teetering on the brink of collapse. All this outsider army needed to win was the continued ability to communicate with each other online, and their collective ability to keep piling into the “Buy” side of the trade. Within hours, they would be hobbled on the first front and crippled on the second.

The Empire Strikes Back

First, the digital distribution platform Discord banned the WallStreetBets account after the close Wednesday for “hate speech, glorifying violence, and spreading misinformation.” (For a moment, it looked like Reddit had also banned the group, but they resisted pressure to do so.) If the quoted justification sounds familiar, it’s nearly identical to the one given by Google, Apple, and Amazon for deplatforming Parler just three weeks earlier. Echoing Amazon, Discord said it had sent the group repeated warnings about objectionable content before deciding, on that day of all days, to shut them down.

“I ask this government if people should prepare for internment camps,” Ontario provincial member of parliament (MPP) Randy Hillier asked the central Canadian province’s legislature during Question Period on October 7, 2020.

During his inquiry over the country’s policy to detain citizens, Hillier’s microphone was cut and he was silenced and told to sit down. His words would not go unnoticed, however, and the internet picked up on it and the memes began to flow on how Canada was about to start involuntarily detaining COVID-19 patients in government facilities.

It is important to note that Hillier’s claims were blown out of proportion online with disinformation flowing freely about children being taken from parents to people being held in these facilities “for the rest of their lives.” None of this is true.

Predictably, the “Fact-Checkers” picked up on the obviously false claims and came out in full force referring to Hillier’s statements and the memes that followed as a “Conspiracy Theory” that is “Totally False.”

Yes, many of the claims were totally false, however, government-run quarantine facilities are allowed in Canada under the Quarantine Act, passed in 2005 under prime minister Paul Martin. In June 2020, the federal government issued its third order requiring every person entering Canada to quarantine for 14 days.

The pushback against the online “conspiracy theories” were that these quarantine sites were “voluntary” for Canadian citizens.

The federal government has announced funding for voluntary quarantine sites for some of the country’s homeless and has made plans to expand self-isolation capacity for returning international travelers without suitable places to go, but Canadians will not be compelled to leave their homes for so-called COVID “camps,” a spokesperson for Health Minister Patty Hajdu told CBC News in October to dispel the conspiracy theories.

In October, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau even responded, saying that the claims of mandatory COVID-19 detainments were “harmful misinformation.”

“Unfortunately there is a tremendous amount of noise and harmful misinformation about [the pandemic] on the Internet,” Trudeau said. “I had to explain that as we consume increasing amounts and various sources of information on line and around us, we need to continue to be attentive to source, we need to continue to be attentive to comparing various reports and looking for trusted sources.”

That was in October and over the months, the government has moved the goal post on how travelers are treated. Now, even travelers with negative tests will be forced to quarantine at their home under government surveillance. While this is only for those engaging in international travel, as we’ve seen, the goal post moves.

“Those with negative test results will then be able to quarantine at home under significantly increased surveillance and enforcement,” Trudeau said in a press conference last week. In regards to the “increased surveillance,” this will include home visits from private covid security personnel.

Woman suspected of killing 19-yo Harry Dunn worked for ‘US intelligence agency’, court told as Biden rules out extradition to UK

The woman accused of killing British teen Harry Dunn was “employed by an intelligence agency in the US” at the time of the fatal road traffic accident that left the 19-year-old dead, a court has heard.

A Virginia court was told that Anne Sacoolas worked for US intelligence when she fatally collided with Dunn on his motorbike in August 2019. Her barrister said that her employment was “especially a factor” in her leaving the UK.

Sacoolas fled the UK due to “security issues”, her barrister said, adding that she didn’t believe she would receive a fair trial because of the media attention the case would attract.

The comments were made on Wednesday during Sacoolas's application to dismiss a civil claim for damages made against her by the Dunn family.

Dunn was 19 when Sacoolas’s car crashed into his motorbike outside US military base RAF Croughton in Northamptonshire, where her husband worked as a CIA operative.

Sacoolas was charged with causing death by dangerous driving after the crash but returned to the US, claiming diplomatic immunity. Former president Donald Trump's secretary of state, Mike Pompeo, refused a UK Home Office extradition request in January 2020, and last week the new Biden administration said the decision was final.

Following the hearing, Dunn family spokesman Radd Seiger called on the UK government to “urgently reinvestigate” whether Sacoolas had diplomatic immunity.

Under the agreements between UK and US authorities, dating back to 1995, any American working at RAF Croughton as part of the “administrative and technical staff” would not be immune from criminal jurisdiction.

It has previously been reported that Sacoolas was a former CIA operative.

Judge blocks Texas from fully defunding Planned Parenthood day before the action was to take effect

Texas was set to oust the abortion provider from its Medicaid program

A Texas judge on Wednesday temporarily blocked the state from kicking Planned Parenthood out of the its Medicaid program, a move that would have completely unhooked state taxpayers from funding the abortion provider.

The order came after Planned Parenthood filed a last-minute lawsuit Wednesday — the last day before the action was set to take effect — asking courts to step in and pause the effort. The emergency lawsuit argued that state officials did not give the state's approximately 8,000 Medicaid patients enough time to find other providers.

Travis County Judge Maya Guerra Gamble agreed that patients should be afforded more time and granted a temporary restraining order on the action, setting a hearing for Feb. 17.

Republicans in Texas have been trying to oust Planned Parenthood from the state's Medicaid program for several years, ever since an undercover video posted in 2015 by the pro-life group Center for Medical Progress purportedly showed the abortion provider illegally selling baby tissue it had obtained from abortion operations.

In 2017, a federal judge blocked the effort. But late last year, the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals overturned the decision, clearing the way for Texas to finally go through with the effort. Following the ruling, Planned Parenthood asked Texas health officials for at least six months to help transition patients to other providers, but the state thought that excessive and offered a 30-day transition period instead.

In the lawsuit, Planned Parenthood characterized the effort as just "one more assault against the same communities that face unjust, systemic barriers to basic human rights, including access to affordable health care, education, and housing."

Now, with more time on its hands, Planned Parenthood will await potential action by the Biden administration, which has already shown urgency in reversing Trump-era policies pertaining to abortion and health care.

"This comes a week after the Biden-Harris administration made it clear it would put an end to Trump-era attacks against health care, including programs like Medicaid," Planned Parenthood Texas Votes said in a press release. "Texas's Medicaid 'defunding' offers a clear example of how critical it is for the Biden-Harris administration to stop attacks that target the reproductive health care of people with low incomes, women, and people of color."

Hard pass from the Biden administration on the $2,000 stimulus. Instead, you might get a face mask in the mail.

The day after Press Secretary Jen Psaki confirmed that neither Joe Biden’s White House nor the Democrat controlled Congress intend to make good on their promise to send every American a $2,000 stimulus, the President now wants to send every American a face mask.

After it apparently became too difficult to send a $2,000 check or cash deposit to every American, the Biden administration is now working on the “logistics” of sending a free face mask to every American instead.

NBC News reported that, “The Biden White House is considering sending masks directly to American households, according to three people familiar with the discussions, an action the Trump administration explored but scrapped.”

Indeed, “The Covid-19 Response Team is evaluating the logistics of mailing out millions of face coverings,” and the move comes “as Biden continues to urge Americans to use masks as a primary defense against the spread of the coronavirus.”

Biden, of course, made it a federal crime not to wear a face mask while on federal property during his first hours in the Oval Office. Biden then proceeded to break his own executive order law when he and his entire family refused to wear face masks during parts of the inauguration events. Hunter Biden to Chronicle Personal Demons in Memoir ‘Beautiful Things’

Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, has a memoir due out April 6 which will chronicle his life and times, despite his father assuring the nation his family would not cash in on presidency.

AP reports the book is called “Beautiful Things” and will center on the younger Biden’s well publicized struggles with substance abuse, according to Gallery Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster.

Acquired in the fall of 2019, “Beautiful Things” was kept under wraps even as Biden’s business dealings became public before, during and after the election and his finances a matter of investigation by the Justice Department.

Drug use and abuse was also highlighted during the 2020 presidential campaign:

President Biden has always rejected any criticism of his son and his financial dealings, maintaining there is “no basis” for the accusation Hunter profited from foreign business partners by selling access to his father during his tenure in office.

More recently Biden Snr. has sought to appease his critics by saying members of his family would not be involved with government or foreign policy decisions, as Breitbart News reported.

Texas AG Ken Paxton: Google Can Use Personal Information and Billions of Dollars Against Its Political Opponents

Google and other Big Tech companies have personal information on political opponents that can be weaponized, warned Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in an interview on SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Daily with host Alex Marlow.

Ken Paxton and attorneys general from eight other states filed an antitrust lawsuit case against Google in December, alleging the company abuses its monopoly power in digital ads to harm consumers and businesses.

Marlow said, “[You are a] powerful attorney general representing one of the biggest states, but I think Google has surpassed the power of the state at this point, so you have a huge undertaking.”

Paxton replied, “It’s extremely intimidating, because [Google is] not just bigger than any state. They have more money than most countries. We have a limited budget by which we can do these investigations and file litigation, and it’s a challenge for any state to take them on. They have billions and billions. They can hire as many lawyers, as many lobbyists … They can hire all your friends to come out and criticize you. They can fund campaigns [for] your opponent.”

“I’m sure when I’m running next time, my opponents will all be funded heavily by Google and other big tech companies that are concerned about their monopolistic behavior,” Paxton added. “So it’s a real challenge. When you take them on, they know a lot about people, and they can use that information as well. So it’s definitely a risky proposition. If you want safety, these are not the companies you sue.”

Google’s market capitalization is currently $1.283 trillion. In recent years, it was been among the world’s most highly valued public companies, among Amazon, Apple, Facebook, and Microsoft.

Paxton added, “Politicians are afraid that if they speak out that, that their opponents will be funded. … But if we don’t speak out now, eventually it will affect all of us, and it is affecting all of us.”

“When only a few speak out, they wipe them out, and then they’ll just work their way down the line until they control everything,” Paxton warned. “If people don’t wake up and start speaking out in every possible way right now, it may be too late for all of us.”

Marlow noted Google’s political manipulation and censorship of information.

“I’ve got to ask about the concept of viewpoint discrimination because it seems like this could be the silver bullet if there’s a way to legislate or regulate against viewpoint discrimination,” Marlow stated. “It’s very clear that Google suppresses Breitbart in its search, and it’s based on our viewpoint.”

Paxton described President Joe Biden as a beneficiary of Google’s political censorship while noting the left-wing and partisan Democrat orientation of the technology company’s political operations.

Paxton remarked, “There are some people that like the fact that there is viewpoint discrimination. It gives an advantage to the Biden administration.”

Amid Rise in Child Self-Harm, Suicidality, Alcohol Deaths Boris Appoints ‘Mental Health Ambassador’

Amid record-high deaths from alcohol, an increase in reports of children committing self-harm, and more people experiencing suicidal thoughts during the lockdown, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has appointed an ‘Ambassador for Mental Health’.

The Prime Minister has tapped TV personality and A&E doctor Alex George for the position, following Dr Alex’s persistent calls for the government to highlight the growing strain that lockdowns have had on the mental health of children and young people.

The announcement comes just one day after it was revealed that alcohol-related deaths climbed to the highest in recorded history in the UK, with 5,460 deaths being logged between January and September alone according to the Office for National Statistics.

Last week it was also revealed that there has been a dramatic increase in calls to the London Ambulance Service for suicide-related or attempted suicide reasons. Between March and November of last year, some 15,541 suicidal calls were logged by the service, up from 11,703 during the same time period the previous year.

Lockdowns have severely impacted the mental health of children as well, with increasing numbers of children arriving at A&E hospitals after self-harming or overdosing on drugs, according to Dr John Wright of Bradford Royal Infirmary.

Dr Wright wrote: “Children are a lost tribe in the pandemic. While they remain (for the most part) perplexingly immune to the health consequences of Covid-19, their lives and daily routines have been turned upside down.”

He said that according to the Born in Bradford study, children are increasingly suffering from anxiety, isolation, and boredom.

“Children in mental health crisis used to be brought to A&E about twice a week. Since the summer it’s been more like once or twice a day. Some as young as 10 have cut themselves, taken overdoses, or tried to asphyxiate themselves,” he wrote, adding: “There was even one child aged eight.”

The newly appointed Mental Health Ambassador, Dr Alex, has himself been affected by the plight of the mental health crisis, losing his younger brother dying due to “mental health” in July of last year.

Since his brother’s untimely death, Dr Alex has been campaigning on social media to pressure Prime Minister Boris Johnson to increase support for young people and children’s mental health as well as increasing mental health education.

“Nothing will bring my brother back but if I can make a positive impact that saves even one life, it will be worth moving mountains for,” Dr Alex said following his appointment.

“Never has mental health been more important than now. From schools to universities, the NHS and the wider public, mental health matters. For the current as well as future generations, we must do everything in our power to bring meaningful change,” he added.

UK Chancellor ‘Concerned’ by Health Technocrats ‘Moving the Goalposts’ to Keep Lockdown

Britain’s Chancellor of the Exchequer is “concerned” that health technocrats are “moving the goalposts” in order to justify keeping the country locked down, reports suggest.

Rishi Sunak, technically the Second Lord of the Treasury — Boris Johnson is the First — but in practice the country’s chief finance minister, is reportedly keen to see the lockdown ease as soon as possible, as small business owners and workers buckle under the strain of a third national lockdown (and, for many, multiple rounds of punishing regional lockdowns).

The Chancellor is “concerned”, however, that the scientists and public health officials driving much of the government’s coronavirus response are “moving the goalposts” in order to justify staying locked down, according to a source who confided in the Telegraph.

“Rishi remains where he has been throughout the pandemic – he is pro opening as quickly and as safely as possible,” said the source, described by the newspaper as “an ally” of the finance minister.

“This needs to be the last time we [lock down the country]. This is the fat lady sings moment. We can’t lock down again. Rishi is concerned that the scientists have been moving the goalposts in recent weeks. It’s no longer just about hospitalisations and protecting the NHS but cases and case numbers,” they explained.

“Now the target seems to be that we need to keep cases down overall, which wasn’t the original aim of the lockdown. Six months ago, the goal was protecting the most vulnerable who end up hospitalised with Covid. Over the last few weeks, the goalposts seem to have shifted with the new variants. The talk has switched to becoming Covid-free.”

The government’s pandemic strategy has indeed moved dramatically since the early days of the pandemic, when the official line on restrictions was that they would be in place for “three weeks to stop the spread”.

Prince Charles ‘full of admiration’ for Joe Biden over US President’s top priority

PRINCE CHARLES has expressed his admiration for US President Joe Biden in a letter regarding the climate emergency, a cause close to the Queen's eldest son's heart.

Environmentalist Chris Packham told the news outlet the two men will be a “real force to be reckoned with on the global stage”, labelling them “unselfish” in their fight against climate change.

Former Ukrainian officials told a French journalist that President Petro Poroshenko was directly involved in corruption, and that Hunter Biden’s job at the gas company Burisma was a bribe to his father, the US vice president.

US President Donald Trump is currently on trial in the Senate, having been impeached by the House over Democrat allegations that withholding military aid to Ukraine over corruption concerns amounted to an abuse of power. Former Ukrainian officials and anti-corruption activists, however, have testified that not only was there corruption involving Burisma, the natural gas firm tied to former vice president and Democratic presidential frontrunner Joe Biden’s son, but that it went all the way to the top.

These revelations can be found in the third installment of the documentary series ‘UkraineGate: Inconvenient facts’, produced by the French investigative journalist Olivier Berruyer, founder of popular anti-corruption and economics blog Les Crises.

Hunter Biden was hired “solely to pressure Ukrainian authorities into stopping the criminal investigations into Burisma,” former Deputy Prosecutor-General Renat Kuzmin told Berruyer. These investigations had raised the possibility that Biden’s compensation was in effect a bribe being channeled to his father, who handled the Ukraine policy for the Obama administration.

When VP Biden demanded the firing of head prosecutor Viktor Shokin – as he later boasted on camera – Poroshenko was happy to oblige, even if he had to bribe some members of the Rada to make it happen, interviewees have revealed.

A leading anti-corruption activist openly accused the former president of keeping the office of prosecutor-general under personal political control. One former deputy prosecutor said that Poroshenko treated the office as “an escort service,” in his pursuit of money and power.

A former employee of the prosecutor-general’s office described Poroshenko as “the most corrupt president in our history, as of now.”

Former MP Oleksandr Onyschenko testified that Burisma’s owner Mykola Zlochevsky used him in late 2015 to relay a $50 million bribe offer to Poroshenko to make the investigations go away – and that the president agreed. The former parliamentarian and close associate of Poroshenko has since turned whistleblower, admitting to taking bribes himself in exchange for votes, such as the one to remove Shokin.

Poroshenko lost his re-election bid in 2019 to comedian Volodymyr Zelensky, and is currently reported to be facing multiple criminal investigations for corruption.

“Unfortunately, Ukraine is corrupt to the core,” said former Deputy Prosecutor Kuzmin, pointing the finger of blame at the US government’s involvement with Poroshenko’s administration.

Mike Pence reveals he will live near Washington D.C. 'for the next few months' rather than returning to Indiana as he sets up 'office of the former vice president'

Former Vice President Mike Pence has opened a transition office in Northern Virginia and is living in the Washington D.C. suburb before returning to Indiana this summer.

Pence made his first post-White House announcement on Wednesday, two weeks after Joe Biden took office and amid speculation over what's next for the former vice president.

'Mr. and Mrs. Pence are residing in Northern Virginia and plan to move back to Indiana this summer,' the statement said.

And it indicated a possible return to public life for Pence, who served as governor of Indiana before joining Donald Trump on the 2016 presidential ticket.

'The Vice President and Mrs. Pence look forward to continuing to elevate causes that are near and dear to their hearts and serving the American people when called upon,' the statement said.

The office is located in Arlington, across the Potomac River from Washington. Pence, like Donald Trump, receives federal funds to set up a transition office to complete any outstanding work. Trump set up his office in Palm Beach, Fla. Pence also still has Secret Service protection.

The statement comes after reports that Pence was homeless and jobless with some speculation he was couch surfing. Pence sold his Indiana home after he became governor and lived in the state gubernatorial mansion. As vice president, he was provided as house in the Naval Observatory.

Pence is seen as a 2024 presidential candidate although he's said nothing about making his own White House bid. He will form a policy-focused fundraising committee that would help him maintain a relationship with donors, NBC News reported, and it would give him a measure of influence in the 2022 midterm election.

Pence has made no public appearances since Inauguration Day. He's only sent one tweet - on January 29th - praising the March for Life that took place that day.

Pence, unlike Donald Trump, attended Biden's inauguration ceremony, sitting in the stands as Biden took the oath of office.

He had defied Trump and certified Biden's win, coming out of a secure location in the Capitol on January 6th, after rioters attacked the building and interrupted the process.

Pence denounced the attackers and returned to presiding over the certification ceremony, gaveling it to a close in the early morning hours.

Trump had called on Pence to block the certification, which Pence did not have the constitutional authority to do and said he would not carry out.

Some of the mob could be heard chanting 'Hang Mike Pence.' The Washington Post reported they got within 100 feet of the vice president.

After the ceremony ended, Pence and his wife Karen flew to Columbus, Indiana, where they thanked supporters who turned out to greet them.

Amazon needs to pay back nearly $62 million in drivers’ tips that it skimmed over the years, federal regulators said Tuesday. The Federal Trade Commission unveiled a complaint against the ecommerce giant on Tuesday alleging that Amazon’s Flex program stole nearly $62 million in tips from its army of drivers between 2016 and 2019.

“Rather than passing along 100 percent of customers’ tips to drivers, as it had promised to do, Amazon used the money itself,” Daniel Kaufman, acting director of the FTC’s Bureau of Consumer Protection, said in a statement.

News of the settlement comes as Amazon founder Jeff Bezos said he was stepping down as CEO, capping off a year of meteoric growth for the ecommerce company.

Poetry, an outlet published by the Chicago-based Poetry Foundation, dedicated the February edition of the magazine to work by current and former prisoners.

It included the poem 'One Place Is as Good as the Next' by Kirk Nesset, a former Pennsylvania literature professor who was jailed in 2016 for possessing, receiving, and distributing child pornography.

His collection included more than 500,000 images and videos of child abuse that were stored on his computer hard drive and organised into folders based on type, the court heard at the time. Nesset was released from prison last year.

Supreme Court Scraps Arguments in Trump-Era Immigration and Border Wall Cases at Request of Biden Admin

The Supreme Court on Wednesday canceled upcoming scheduled arguments in appeals filed by Republican former President Donald Trump’s administration defending his funding of the U.S.-Mexico border wall and his “remain in Mexico” asylum policy.

Democratic Joe Biden’s administration, which is in the process of changing course on both issues, on Monday had asked the justices to postpone further legal filings in the two cases and to remove them from their oral argument calendar. Biden’s administration already has announced plans to discontinue wall construction and suspend the asylum program, potentially making the cases moot.

The court was scheduled to hear arguments in the wall case on Feb. 22 and the asylum police case on March 1. The cases involve two contentious issues left over from Trump’s years in office.

The border wall was one of Trump’s central 2016 campaign promises, with his supporters chanting at rallies “build the wall.” At issue was the legality of Trump’s decision, after Congress refused to appropriate money he sought for the wall, to shift military funds already provided by lawmakers for other purposes to pay for the project.

Trump called the wall necessary to curb illegal immigration and drug trafficking across the southern border. Democrats have called the wall immoral, ineffective and expensive.

Trump in 2019 redirected $2.5 billion from military counter-narcotics programs for border wall construction in California, New Mexico and Arizona. Biden issued a proclamation on Jan. 20, his first day in office, ordering a freeze on border wall projects and directing a review of the legality of its funding and contracting methods.

The “remain in Mexico” policy, which took effect in 2019, has forced tens of thousands of migrants along the southern border to wait in Mexico, rather than entering the United States, while their asylum claims are processed.

Trump said the policy reduced the flow of migrants from Central America into the United States. Biden’s Department of Homeland Security has said it will suspend new enrollments in the asylum program, pending further review. On Tuesday, Biden announced a formal review of the asylum program.

They are among several cases pending at the high court, which has a 6-3 conservative majority, that Biden’s administration may seek to change course on after earlier action by Trump’s administration.

His key foreign policy picks–Tony Blinken as Secretary of State and Victoria Nuland as Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs; Bill Burns as CIA head; Jake Sullivan as National Security Advisor ; Avril Haines as Director of National Intelligence—all are from the Obama-Biden Administration and all have worked closely together. As well, all see Russia, not China, as the prime security threat to the United States’ global hegemony.

As candidate, Joe Biden stated this often. His key foreign policy choices underscore that the focus with the Biden Administration, regardless how fit Biden himself is, will shift from the China threats to that of Putin’s Russia. Biden’s CIA head, Bill Burns, is a former Ambassador to Moscow and was Deputy Secretary of State during the Obama CIA coup d’etat in Ukraine in 2014. Notably, when Burns left State in November 2014 he was succeeded by Tony Blinken, now Secretary of State. Blinken reportedly formulated the US State Department response to Russia’s Crimea annexation.

Nuland is key

All Biden choices are uniformly clear in blaming Putin’s Russia for everything from US election interference in 2016 to the recent SolarWinds US government computer hack, to every other claim aired against Russia in recent years, whether proven or not.

In trying to determine what the new Biden Administration and the US intelligence agencies have in store towards Putin and Russia, however, the best indication is the prominent role being given to Victoria Nuland, the person, together with then-Vice President Joe Biden, who ran the political side of the US coup d’etat in Ukraine in 2013-14. She infamously was wire-tapped in a phone call to the US Ambassador in Kiev during the Maidan Square 2013-14 protests, telling the Ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt, regarding EU choices for a new Ukraine regime, “F**k the EU.” Her husband, Robert Kagan is a notorious Washington neocon.

On leaving government on Trump’s election in 2016, Nuland became a Senior Counselor at the Albright Stonebridge Group, headed by former Clinton Secretary of State Madeline Albright who is also chairman of the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) affiliate, National Democratic Institute. Nuland also joined the Board of the NED, after 2016, keeping in close contact with NED regime change operations. She is a Russia expert, fluent in Russian and a specialist in toppling regimes.

As Obama Assistant Secretary of State for Eurasian and European Affairs in 2013, Nuland worked closely with Vice President Joe Biden to put into power Arseniy Yatsenyuk in a US-friendly and Russia-hostile Ukraine coup. She fostered months of protest against the regime of the elected President of Ukraine, Victor Yanukovych, to force his ouster after his decision to join the Russian Eurasian Economic Union. Founder of the private intelligence group Stratfor, George Friedman, in an interview just after the February 2014 coup in Kiev, called it “the most blatant coup in (US) history.”
