Since then, the liberal left in America has been afraid of "white nationalists". Trump's DoD played this fear against them; the breaking and entering of the Capitol and subsequent deaths were collateral damage that had to be risked in order to create a narrative that the National Guard and 12' razor wire fencing was needed to "protect" all of Congress.
How difficult would it have been to convert the Capitol into a prison superstructure without making those inside believe it was for their own protection?
