Actress Susan Sarandon blasted Democrats on Thursday, accusing them of pulling a "bait and switch" when it comes to the party's push for $2,000 coronavirus relief checks.

The actress was responding to a video mashup shared on Twitter that shows President Biden, Vice President Harris and Democratic Georgia Sens. Jon Ossoff and Sen. Raphael Warnock all calling for speedy legislation granting the American people $2,000 checks at various campaign rallies.

COVID-19 aid legislation passed late last year included $600 direct payments to taxpayers. Biden's current $1.9 trillion coronavirus proposal includes a round of $1,400 checks, meant to bring the total to $2,000.

"Where are the $2K checks you promised @JoeBiden @KamalaHarris @ReverendWarnock @ossoff? At a time when only 39% of Americans could afford a $1,000 emergency & over 15 million have lost employer-sponsored health insurance, the diff between $1,400 & $2K is a matter of survival," Sarandon wrote.

Video has emerged of a so-called QAnon convention which took place in Scottsdale, Arizona, last October in which supporters were told to consider starting a war in the "back of your mind."

The footage from inside QCon was originally recorded by producers of the QAnon Anonymous podcast before later being shown on CNN.

Among some of those seen at the convention is Jake Angeli, aka the QAnon Shaman, who is facing criminal charges for taking part in the January 6 attack on the Capitol, and Jim Watkins, who runs the controversial messageboard site 8Kun, which has become an online hub for QAnon conspiracies.

Alan Hostetter, one of two men who sponsored a rally near the U.S. Capitol one day before the deadly attack on January 6, also appeared at the convention as a speaker, suggesting "we are at war right now."

The US decision to join COVAX “is likely to mean resources” to be able to get vaccines for people, Dr Tony Fauci, US President Joe Biden’s Chief Medical Advisor, told the International AIDS Society’s COVID-19 conference this week.

Fauci also told the conference that scientists were taking the SARS-COV2 variant identified in South Africa so seriously “that we’re actually going to make a version of that in an mRNA and do Phase One and Two clinical trial”.

He added that if vaccines already approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) needed to be modified to address the new variant, he hoped that the FDA would consider this as “a strain change” so that the vaccine did not have to go through a new approval process.

He said that it was “very scary” to see situations where some people who seemed to be adhering very closely to non-pharmacological interventions – like wearing masks and physically distancing – were still getting infections.

Musk is part of a larger exodus of companies and people awakening to a new reality and moving in droves away from Democrat-governed states like New York and California for redder pastures.

Congress doesn't govern any more. The executive and judicial branches control every aspect of our lives, and Congress only exists to virtue-signal and sign off on the president's insane budget without holding him accounting for power-grabs. This is true of both parties when they have control of either Congress or the White House. Yet with Democrats violating basic constitutional and even human rights of the GOP minority, why not actually break off and form a much more powerful messaging operation, given that the existing Congress is all about talk?

While Congress gets to determine the rules and proceedings of its body with majority support, Democrats have now run the chamber in such a way that it violates at least the spirit of democratic representation of individual members of Congress. Representatives cannot speak without muzzles on their mouths; they are prevented from uttering a number of things thanks to new rules; and they are now frisked on their way into the chamber, which are all in violation of the prohibition in Article I Section 6 against detaining a congressman on the way to work.

They should divide members into shadow committees and hold fact-finding field hearings with guests to educate the public on the threat to civil liberties posed by COVID fascism, the two-tiered justice system, illegal immigration, and rampant crime, just to name a few issues. Rather than the same boring C-SPAN video, people would be able to view on a platform like Rumble an array of exciting guests and witnesses. Again, it would have no legal grounding, but everything that goes on in Congress anyway is nothing but showboating. So why not do a better job of it?
