The 2020 presidential election has produced liberal tears — of joy.
CNN contributor Van Jones broke down on air Saturday after news that Joe Biden has defeated President Trump.
“It’s easier to be a parent this morning, it’s easier to be a dad. It’s easier to tell your kids character matters, it matters. Tell them the truth matters. Being a good person matters,” said Jones, a former advisor to President Obama.
Jones’ voice broke repeatedly and he wiped his eyes as the waterworks flowed.

A Democratic congressman teared up on the floor of the House of Representatives and offered a dramatic apology to his fellow elected officials for having not recognized his white privilege until the January 6 Capitol riot.
During a Thursday evening House discussion, in which members of Congress were invited to “share their stories” about the day Donald Trump supporters stormed the US Capitol, Rep. Dean Phillips recalled that he had asked his fellow Democrats to follow him to the Republican side of the chamber in an effort to “blend in” as conservatives.
“But within moments I recognized that blending in was not an option available to my colleagues of color,” Phillips said, his voice beginning to break.
“So I’m here tonight to say to my brothers and sisters in Congress and all around our country: I’m sorry. I’m sorry,” the congressman continued. “For I had never understood, really understood, what privilege really means.”
He added that it had taken “a violent mob of insurrectionists and a lightning bolt moment in this very room” to come to his realization. “But now I know. Believe me, I really know.”

Iraqi forces kill ISIS commander in Al-Anbar
BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:10 A.M.) – The Popular Mobilization Units (Hashd Al-Sha’abi) announced on Thursday, the killing of what it called the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) emir of northern Baghdad.
The Popular Mobilization Units said, as published by the official Iraqi News Agency (INA), that the Operations Command of East Anbar Governorate managed to kill Islamic State leaders north of the Fallujah District.
The statement said that “one of the terrorists is the emir of northern Baghdad and al-Karma, called Muhannad Ahmad Habib, and the other terrorist is Omar Abdel-Kassar, a member of the organization.”
The Iraqi government forces, including the Popular Mobilization Units, are currently conducting extensive security operations against the terrorist organization, the frequency of which has increased after two terrorist bombings in the center of the capital, Baghdad, which killed and wounded dozens
