Fox News cancels 'Lou Dobbs Tonight' a day after voting software company Smartmatic filed a $2.7billion defamation suit against the 75-year-old host and the network for pushing election fraud conspiracy

Fox News is cancelling Lou Dobbs Tonight, according to reports

The show will air for the final time on Friday with David Asman as host

It will be renamed Fox Business Tonight from next week and hosted by Asman and Jackie DeAngelis

Dobbs, 75, remains under contract with Fox

He is one of the network's staunchest Trump supporters

The cancellation comes a day after he was named among the Fox hosts being sued by voting software company Smartmatic

The software company is looking for $2.7billion in the suit claiming that the network's narrative of a stolen election damaged its business
