Mo Brooks: Pelosi, House Democrats Covered by Panic, Paranoia, and Power — Willing to ‘Overreach,’ ‘Abuse Their Power’

Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) said he sees a combination of factors that led to House Democrats taking a very aggressive approach against Republicans in the new Congress under House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) leadership.

Brooks told Mobile, AL radio’s FM Talk 106.5 on Friday that he saw three factors driving the Democrats’ actions: panic, paranoia and power.

“Right now, let me emphasize something about what I perceive to be the attitude on Capitol Hill, at least in the House, not as familiar with the Senate side of things since I don’t serve there on a daily basis,” he said. “On the House side, it appears that Nancy Pelosi and the socialists are covered by the three P’s — one, they’re panicked, two, they’re paranoid, and three, they have power. You put panic and paranoia together with power, and you can get some very unfortunate results. We’ll have to see how that plays out. But they are at least now — they’ve shown that they’re willing to overreach, that they’re willing to abuse their power.”

The Alabama Republican lawmaker used Democrats’ approach to Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) as an example and pointed out the ruling party in the House had set a precedent they would be susceptible to when Republicans were back in charge.

“Certainly, they abused it in doing what they did to Marjorie Taylor Greene, whose district abuts mine just across the state line in Georgia — to seize control of the other party’s committee assignments, as best I’m aware, has never been done in the history of the United States House of Representatives,” Brooks said. “With this newfound power, the more radical elements of this socialist party here on Capitol Hill — they’re flexing their muscle. Personally, I think that it is a bad misjudgment on their part.”

“And I think it increases the likelihood they’re going to lose their election in 2020, which will, in turn, result in the House being GOP,” he added. “But they have opened a Pandora’s box because if the socialists are able to control the committee assignments of Republicans, that means Republicans, when they’re in charge, can do the same thing to the socialist party. And I would anticipate that that is exactly what will happen. There are a number of socialists who have made very egregious violent-oriented statements, and this is going to come back to bite them.”

DCNF, Judicial Watch Take Fight For Biden’s Senate Records To Delaware Supreme Court

The Daily Caller News Foundation and Judicial Watch filed an appeal to the Supreme Court of Delaware on Monday asking for a reversal of a lower court opinion that blocked access to records from President Joe Biden’s Senate career.

Some 1,850 boxes and 415 gigabytes of digital records from Biden’s 36-year Senate career are housed at the University of Delaware, but the Delaware Superior Court ruled in January that the records are not subject to release.

“We have no idea why the University of Delaware is hiding these materials that the public should have every right to see and we are grateful for Judicial Watch and our local counsel for pushing this case hard,” said DCNF President Neil Patel.

The Daily Caller News Foundation and Judicial Watch filed a notice of appeal to the Supreme Court of Delaware on Monday asking for a reversal of a lower court opinion that blocked a Freedom of Information Act request for access to records from President Joe Biden’s Senate career.

The motion seeks a reversal of a ruling by the Superior Court of Delaware in early January that the 1,850 boxes and 415 gigabytes of digital records from Biden’s 36-year Senate career that he donated to the University of Delaware in 2012 are not subject to release because no public funds have been used to support the Biden library.

The lower court rejected the DCNF and Judicial Watch’s argument that some of the university’s approximately $120 million annual taxpayer appropriation could have been used to indirectly support the Biden library by funding archival space and staff salaries. The court said a statement from the university that claimed, without evidence, that no state funds supported the library was sufficient to rule against releasing the documents.

“We have no idea why the University of Delaware is hiding these materials that the public should have every right to see and we are grateful for Judicial Watch and our local counsel for pushing this case hard,” DCNF President Neil Patel said. “When people ask why our institutions are no longer trusted, they should look up this case.”

The appeal filed Monday stems from a lawsuit the DCNF and Judicial Watch filed against the University of Delaware in July after the university rejected FOIA requests for access to the Biden library.

The University of Delaware said in 2012 after it first received Biden’s archival records that it would make the library “available to the public two years after Biden’s last day in elected public office.”

But the university changed the agreement just hours before Biden announced his candidacy for president in April 2019. Now it says the records, which contain committee reports, draft legislation and correspondence, won’t be made available to the public until two years after Biden “retires from public life.”

China’s Ministry of Education Plans to Tackle ‘Feminization of Male Youths’ as West Embraces LGBT Agenda

China’s Education Ministry has issued an edict that calls for the ‘re-masculinization’ of the country’s male adolescents

As many Western countries advocate for transgenderism and LGBT issues, China is moving in the polar opposite direction, doubling down on their intention to “re-masculinize” the nation’s male population.

The Communist Chinese government’s Education Ministry has issued a statement that aggressively inferred the males of the China have become too “feminine.”

The message has been met with mixed reviews with those wishing for China to join the globalist culture criticizing the statement as sexist, while those who support the Communist regime saying China’s feminized male celebrities are partly to blame.

Last week, China’s Education Ministry issued a notice that was direct and to the point, titled, “The Proposal to Prevent the Feminization of Male Adolescents.”

In an attempt to tackle what a top Chinese official called "the feminization of male youths," the country's Education Ministry plans to emphasize the “spirit of yang,” or male attributes, by beefing up gym classes. https://t.co/KHyaz81FC9

— The New York Times (@nytimes) February 5, 2021

The notice – which in China is more akin to a mandate or a directive, called on schools to “fully reform their offerings on physical education and strengthen their recruitment of teachers.”

The directive suggested that local school authorities recruit retired athletes and people with sports backgrounds. It also suggested the “vigorous development” of specific sports like football and other full-contact athletics with a view toward “cultivating students’ masculinity.”

China’s Communist government has signaled its with the nation’s popular culture recently, noting that the country’s most popular male role models are no longer strong figures like “army heroes.”

Last Spring, Si Zefu, a delegate to China’s top advisory body, said that many of China’s adolescent males had become “weak, timid, and self-abasing.”

Si suggested there was a trend among young Chinese males towards “feminization,” a trend he said, “would inevitably endanger the survival and development of the Chinese nation” unless it was “effectively managed.”

China’s move toward the remasculinization of its young males comes at a time with the Biden administration has completely embraced the “sexual identity diversity movement.”

Recently, the President has signed executive orders affecting trans male participation in women’s sports and trans male and female participation in the US military.

The juxtaposition between the cultural directions of the two countries where male masculinity is concerned sets the stage for critical issues should it ever come to a land war between the United States and China.

Democrats Go Ape Over DC Violence While Ignoring Riots, Murder, And Mayhem Everywhere Else

Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is one of many politicians who have adopted a mindset that says we should only care about victims of violence if we believe they are useful for our political narrative.

New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is once again at the center of online debates, as left and right battle over an Instagram livestream where she described her experience during the latest riot at the U.S. Capitol by telling her audience, “I thought I was going to die.”

The right argued that Ocasio-Cortez wasn’t actually in any danger. Rioters that day never breached the office building she was in; Capitol Police made sure she was never harmed. The left, meanwhile, insisted that nobody has any right to tell her how she should feel about what she lived through; we should “stop invalidating” her experiences.

There can be no doubt that the riot at the Capitol was a terrible event. More than 100 police officers were injured, and one, Brian Sicknick, gave his life defending Congress; several rioters were killed in the melee, including one who was shot dead. Although some of Ocasio-Cortez’s claims afterward about what transpired are flatly false — Ted Cruz did not try to have her murdered, as she claimed in an inflammatory Tweet — you can hardly blame her for being fearful that day.

But our leaders’ response to the event is revealing about whose fear matters and whose doesn’t. Immediately after the riot, the Capitol was transformed into a sort of Fort Knox, with substantial fencing erected around the building. National Guard troops are expected to remain in the capital for months. As deadly as the Jan. 6 unruly mob ended up being, it is worth noting that even in this gun-loving country none of the rioters used firearms on anyone; yet today the Capitol is reinforced and guarded as if it is prepared to repel an actual militarized army.

The rest of the country is not so lucky. Our governing elites, Ocasio-Cortez among them, have spent the past month testifying about their own emotional pain from the violence on Capitol Hill that day. Yet they have barely noticed the violence that has been happening in their own districts.

In some of the biggest cities in America, homicides rose 30 percent last year, an increase that researchers have said has “no modern precedent.” In St. Louis, the homicide rate in 2020 was the highest in 50 years. Other cities, like Cincinnati, had a record high number of homicides.

New York City, a portion of which is represented by Ocasio-Cortez, recorded 462 murders last year, an increase of almost 45 percent from the 319 murders in 2019. Meanwhile, the city had 1,531 shootings, 97 percent more than the 777 that occurred in the previous year.

Ocasio-Cortez’s only response to this surge of homicides is to argue about the need to reduce poverty. There are many good reasons to reduce poverty, but it’s worth noting that violence can go up or down independent of crimes that are more closely tied to the economy. For instance, property and drug crimes actually fell last year — the only crimes that increased so sharply nationwide were shootings and killings.

It is much too early to decisively conclude what is driving this wave of violence. Criminologists will likely argue over this question for years. But the best research shows us that sudden reductions in proactive policing are associated with huge spikes in homicide.

Biden trusts intelligence community & will let them decide on Trump’s access to briefings – White House

President Biden will let his intelligence team make the final call on whether to entrust his predecessor Donald Trump with classified briefings that traditionally are being given to former US leaders, according to the White House.

“The president was expressing his concern about former president Trump receiving access to sensitive intelligence,” press secretary Jen Psaki told The Washington Post.

…but he also has deep trust in his own intelligence team to make a determination about how to provide intelligence information if at any point the former president Trump requests a briefing.

Biden previously argued against providing Trump with any classified intelligence, saying in an interview with CBS News on Friday it would be a bad idea “because of his erratic behavior, unrelated to the insurrection,” referring to the storming of the US Capitol building in Washington by a group of Trump supporters on January 6.

What value is giving him an intelligence briefing? What impact does he have at all, other than the fact he might slip and say something?

Limited intelligence briefings are traditionally given to former presidents upon their request or when a sitting president reaches out for advice, and Trump could become the first ex-commander-in-chief to be denied such a “courtesy.”

Accused of “inciting” a mob attack on the Capitol, even though he condemned the rioters, Trump who is no longer in office has been impeached for a second time by the Democrat-controlled House. His trial in the Senate is scheduled to begin next week.

2 people reported missing & at least 5 injured after explosion partially demolishes building in Bordeaux, France

Five people have been rescued and two are missing after an explosion rocked the French city of Bordeaux on Saturday morning. A gas leak is believed to have caused the blast, a report has said.

According to local media, the blast occurred around 8:35am local time, partially destroying a building in the southwestern city’s Chartrons districts. A gas leak inside a private garage was reported to be the likely cause of the explosion.

Photos from the scene show broken windows in nearby shops and debris scattered around the street.

“It woke me up. My whole house was shaken, and I live about 300 meters [984ft] away,” a witness told the Sud Ouest newspaper.

Firefighters were quickly dispatched to the site, which has been cordoned off. Five people with minor injuries were taken to safety. Rescuers with search dogs are looking for two residents of the building.

On January 20, a gas leak inside a building caused a powerful explosion on a historic street in downtown Madrid, Spain, killing four people. In 2019, a similar blast destroyed a bakery in Paris. Four people were killed in the incident, including two firefighters who were responding to the leak.
